CHI Original 1" Ceramic Hair Straightener Flat Iron for Styling

Woa! I thought I already did a review for this. I'm so sorry to find out that I did not, as this product is one of the best that I've purchased on Amazon and it deserves some credit. First, let me address the fact that the one I purchased a few years ago that I still use today had a set temperature setting. That is why I love this tool. It keeps my hair in good health because it does not reach the point where it will burn your hair. Ladies, if it has to be spelled out: THIS IS A GOOD THING. So before I re-started my straightening routine, I had my husband cut my hair VERY short into a bob to get rid of the bad ends that had too much product and hard water from FL that I could not get out. The bob was cute and I didn't mind because it's just hair...it grows back. It always grows nicely when I cut it. So, after cutting it, I started to grow it back out. I don't use any chemicals on my hair except Revlon blue/black hair dye. I wash once a week and try to keep my scalp very clean as it starts to build oil the day after washing although I have curly hair. After washing with Kenra clarifying shampoo, I just follow with cheap V05 conditioner that I get from the Dollar Tree. The reason I use the V05 is because it doesn't have a lot of "dirty" stuff in it aside from the Red33. I use the strawberry moisture milk. It's paraben free and has all of the vitamins that my hair needs. I do not put the conditioner close to my scalp. Since my hair is thick it is so hard to get the conditioner off of my scalp. After conditioning I put a little Pantene miracle 10 in 1 on the ends, not even spraying it directly onto my hair. I spray one pump on my fingertips and apply to the ends. Then I just blow dry it with a round brush. Then, I straighten with the Chi. I've been doing this for the past few years and it works for me. I have never gone wrong with this Chi. Just make sure you clean it with alcohol before using so the tool is clean. The reason flat irons tend to stink up your whole house is because there's product burned onto it, so make sure you keep it clean. Last but not least, I love this iron because it costs $150 less than the other one that I used that did not keep my hair as healthy. So, the price is right. I keep my hair clean and healthy with this routine. I've been doing this the past few years and since I like to leave well enough alone, I will continue. I hope this works for you. Okay so at first, I wanted to return this flat iron because the heat temperature settings cannot be changed. It’s stuck on a preset heat temperature. Though, I told myself I’ll use it a few times before I do in case it’s not all that bad. Well, I have come to love this flat iron and I look forward to styling my hair with it. My dried out dead ends somehow look gorgeous with this tool. They are so sleek and flattened to my liking. Now, I have long 30in + hair and it’s thick and often frizzes horribly. This flat iron has tamed my hair and I have now gone from never having a flat iron to I’m never going without one again. I am a beginner and this tool is very easy to use. I’m not exaggerating but this straightener reaches full temp under a minute. Lol like how is that even possible. Truly, perfection. I love it!! Also, I only paid $47 like what a deal?!!!

My dad has an Afro and my mom has straight hair, so I have a balance of both, being very wavy too extremely curly on any given day. This thing works great, even with very thick hair! I am shock as I’ve always used larger plates on hair straighteners I have purchased in the past. I was a little hesitant because I was reading the reviews and some of them were saying that it’s a fake item or that the cord gets tangled easily. The product works great for hair, straightening as well as curling. I’ve never been able to curl my hair with a hair straightener, EVER! I looked up a YouTube tutorial of how to do it with a 1 inch plate, like this item has, and as I followed the tutorial, it was super easy to achieve the perfect curl, and I was literally gasping in the mirror as the curl dropped. 360° swivel cord makes curling super easy! I don’t think it’s necessary to buy a heat glove, since the tips of this hair straightener definitely do get hot, the 360° swivel cord makes it so you can just turn the hair straightener with your right or left hand without using both to achieve the perfect curl. Totally recommend this product even if you have very thick hair! My hair is also colored and I use product in my hair and I didn’t notice anything on the plates after I was done. Once it cooled down, I did wipe down the plates with some vinegar, just to make sure that I’m not leaving product on the plates themselves. I had to get a new hair straightener, which is why I purchased this one, because I didn’t clean the last one good enough and my hair always smell burnt. There is only one heat setting ~ Which in this case is not a bad thing. I believe it said it would goes up to 375°, my other one had a couple different temperature settings the maximum 450 or 475°. Even with very thick hair straightener heats up to the amount that I need for my hair to become straighten, smooth or curly and smooth.

I am happy with this CHI 1" Ceramic Hair Straightener, especially for the price. It may not work quite as well as the professional one my hairdresser uses, but I also don't want to spend that kind of money. This flat iron heats up quickly and does a good job reducing frizz. For everyday use, it works well and gives good results. Overall, I think it is a good value and a smart choice for anyone who wants a quality straightener without paying salon prices.

I’m really mad at myself for forgetting that I need auto shut off. I need to buy the more expensive one that does that or I’m sure I’ll leave it in by accident. I really like the brand though.

Absolutely love this flat iron I received one for my birthday/Christmas around 2010 and it lasted me about a good 10 years as I do take very good care of my things. This has an extremely long cord, (see photo)which is a huge plus.! I can plug it in on my side of the bathroom and let it heat up on my husband’s side lol as I get ready and prepare my face. I love the way it smooth out my hair and makes it silky shiny.. it heats up really fast so when I’m almost done getting my face ready, I will plug it in and it will be nice and heated when it’s time to do my hair. The cord has an attached Velcro piece and stays put very well once you roll it up.. I would highly recommend this over any other flat iron de to its durability and compactness so it’s really easy to transport.

I am reviewing this product after so long its still working in great conditions. Its the best staightner i have used i used it once and my hair hair stays same until i wash them

We started with the CHI years ago then switched to another brand for a while. After returning to the CHI with this purchase I can honestly say it’s still the best. It heats up crazy fast and it’s just so smooth to use. Never pulls hair and straightens fast — one pass is usually enough. It’s not nearly as fancy as some of the other brands but it does its job the best.

C’est le 2e que j’achète et je l’adore. N’est pas parfait, car aucun contrôle de la température. Donc 4 étoiles, mais je recommande pour la qualité-prix.
