Really great unit for mobile and for beginners and experienced DJs who want a mobile setup
I got this unit for two purposes: Beach party, and for a unit to just sit on my desk at work to do music, scan through tracks do basic cue pointing etc. It's nearly perfect for the money. I also own the WeGO4, and overall, I find this unit better (and half the price). What I like about this unit is that the platters feel good, and they feel right. They have the right shape, and work well and easily. The performance 'pads' are buttons not pads, but I actually rather like this for a more rugged setting like the beach where I'm more likely to fat finger things. I like that it has low, mid and hi EQs, which the WeGO4 doesn't. The tempo sliders are a good size, and have an okay feel, not as good as the DDJ1000 or DDJ800, the dead zone around the 0 mark isn't very easy to feel sometimes, and the zone where they slider doesn't produce adjustment is also kind of big relative to the whole slider. What's not to like? Well - the headphone out is accomplished by splitting the stereo output of the computer; which means you're only getting mono out of the headphone jack, and so the overall signal power of the output is 1/2 which leaves the headphones particularly weak. And for me, the biggest missing is the load control on the unit. Every single other DJ unit has a load control, and I think if I could have put one more thing on the unit; it would be this. The performance pads can be switched to different modes from the laptop itself, which isn't awful; but my second wish would be a mode button for the performance pads. It's also missing any loop controls which is a bit of a bummer, but, it's a basic unit, so how much can I expect?! This device also works REALLY well with the iPhone DJ app WeDJ (which works on the iPad also). Really really well. The iPad essentially functions as a Midi controller, and the buttons not present on the controller itself are present in the App, and it's very easy to use this way (maybe even better than with Rekordbox). Did I mention it's very well priced?! if nothing else, this is a great backup controller that you can afford to just throw in a backpack and pull out in an emergency to get you through. Would I recommend this unit: Absolutely, 100%. Buy it, it's fun!

Worth it for PC/MAC. Android/iOS development seems to have halted.
I went in with absolutely no DJ experience and a very basic understanding of beats and bars. Ultimately just wanted to see if I could learn to mix music that I like and have fun doing it. Turns out yes and yes, but I have thoughts... I think the price is appropriate for what you get, but the fact that PioneerDJs Rekordbox desktop software doesn't at all interface with PioneerDJs WeDJ mobile app should have been the first clue that they don't take the mobile aspect seriously at all. The iOS version of WeDJ, is the better version of the mobile app. On iOS, you get track key indication (sadly not in Camelot format) and a next track suggestion, which helps getting tracks to mix in key. The app also knows where the different parts of the track are like the intro and the chorus. The Android version side of WeDJ is like a flat Pepsi/Coke. Sure, you CAN drink it... but it's missing most of the good parts. On the bright side, this thing is fantastic when connected to my desktop. Close Chrome, Steam and anything else that might be chewing up resources so you get faster response to button presses. It may be all plastic, but it can take some enthusiastic button pressing like a champ! If you're trying to figure out if DJ is a hidden talent, this isn't a bad way to go. If you hate it, you aren't out big dough and you can get some of it back selling the hardware to the next would-be DJ. If you love it, maybe you end up with something that goes from being a main unit to a mobile or back-up unit to your future upgrade. Last thing I want to say is this. Own your music. MP3, WAV, whatever... it's always there. I would hate to plan a mix only to have my streaming service remove a hot track because a contract ended.

This device is great for learning midi controls. Great for kids.
What I like about this product is that it works as advertised. It is immediately responsive to touch and your latency is barely noticeable to none. Very good for children so that they may get more technical with setting up front and back ends of DJ setup and easy for technical people to learn. Programming the buttons takes a moment to get the concept of. I would take the tutorial that the WEDJ app offers but just know that with what's going on right now, it's not that easy to stream tracks to the device. You can, but a request can be made for more updated information on this. There is really nothing that is not likable about this device. I let the children use this and they jumped on it and never got bored with it. It's definitely great for beginners.

This controller was everything I wanted as a entry level controller. Pioneer have produced a easy to use product that can be set up with ease straight out of the box. Works well with Tidal via the software DJ Pro and you can split link headphones and a 3.5mm audio line in to a speaker (Bose SP1 Pro works well). I didn't use the WeDj app that you can download to use with this controller as I plugged the USB provided into my Dell laptop and ran the DJ Pro software which was easy to setup the controller via the settings menu. Great piece of equipment that had me spinning tunes in no time. If your looking for something to get started without breaking the bank then this is for you.
