It's portable and light enough to bring anywhere, but it doesn't sacrifice in the area of power. For cleaning up after woodworking or household projects, nothing is better. I have a full size Ridgid shop vac, but it's so bulky and heavy I break out the handy vac most of the time. Customers also appreciate that I can clean up my work sites so thoroughly It sucks up water well and has a float device to protect the motor. I'm especially pleased they added wheels, but truthfully it's light enough that wheels aren't necessary unless it starts getting full. I also recommend using the bag since it provide filtration and dust reduction, but it works great without a bag--it just doesn't remove the dust. You'll never need to use the gas station vacuum, and good riddance because the Ridgid vac is much more powerful.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how do you use this vac to suck up water? do you need to replace the filter, or remove it completely? I wasn't sure.**
A: If you are picking up clean water, the pleated paper filter should be removed. When picking up small amounts of liquid the paper filter may be left in place. Please note that when the filter becomes saturated, misting may occur at the blower port. Additionally, when picking up large volume of liquids, the liquid in the drum may reach a predetermined level and the float mechanism will rise automatically to cut off airflow.  This occurs to avoid liquids from entering the power head.  When this happens, turn off the vac, unplug the power cord, and empty the drum. For this reason, it is important NOT to leave the vac running unattended during operation. Before storage, the filter must be dried to avoid possible mildew and damage to the filter.  We recommend that you clean or wash the filter then let it air dry overnight.  Please check the filter for holes or tears after each cleaning. **Q: Anyone use indoors? I want the power of shop vac and disposable bag. My first floor is ceramic tile but also want to clean carpet on stairs, etc.**
A: This thing will suck up a cat! I use it indoors on hardwood, having 2 tuxedo cats that shed non-stop. It will work on carpet too. Very handy and easy to carry, but rolls great on its wheels. I don't know if it takes a bag...we just dump the contents in the trash every 3 or 4 weeks and brush off the filter. I have a eureka portable hand vac with beater bar that I use to beat the cat hair off the carpeted stairs, but the Ridged will do it too. I've got a full sized Rigid that I use in the garage and outside. Best shop vacs I've ever owned! Had the big one 4 years now and the small one over 2, still run perfect! Well worth the money.

Customers also appreciate that I can clean up my work sites so thoroughly It sucks up water well and has a float device to protect the motor. I'm especially pleased they added wheels, but truthfully it's light enough that wheels aren't necessary unless it starts getting full. I also recommend using the bag since it provide filtration and dust reduction, but it works great without a bag--it just doesn't remove the dust. I’ve used it several times on each of my cars and it cleans up dirt and debris quite well with plenty of suction power. It was very easy to move around in the garage and driveway. It was a little heavier than I thought it might be, but no real trouble for a man to pick up and move. It created no more noise than I thought a shop type of vacuum would make. Yes, I would recommend this shop vac which appeared to be reasonably priced.
