Could I carry a s&w 642 in it?

I really like mine, call it my man purse, everything in it. I am a 2 gun guy and I carry a pair of 380 bodyguards for everyday. When thing get up a little here Phoenix area I upgrade to a pair of glock 40s. The top inside pockets dont print at all.  Not so great for a revolver but a little velcro might make it better. I really like the vest, I bought 1 as a gift and 2 for me. I also wear a belly band rig in hotter weather when it is too hot for a vest. Best of luck, stay safe.

Are the concealed carry pockets located near the armpits, deep enough to conceal a large frame semi auto?

my glock 17 will fit in the inside pockets, one on each side, both sides have a built in holster to put a small frame in but the full size glock 17 will not fit in it right. it will fit in the pocket though, i like the vest for my glock26 and there are lots of pocket all big. and mag holders on the inside. when i where it i dont feel the weight of the glock and you cant see it at all.

Medium back collar to hem length?

I really like the vest. I have 2 black and green. Wish they would look into comming up with a like design for Hot weather. I wear this vest exclusivly after the temp around here gets belowe 95 dagrees. Its kinda my man purse, 2 flashlights pepper spray 2 mags for my S&W EZ 9mm, wallet, phone keys you name it. Most of the important stuff fits secure under zippers. Bought 1 for my neiphew who carries also,,he loves it.

What size should i order for a 57" chest?

All I can tell you is my chest is 48" and my xxlg fits loose. I believe the vests run big probably by design.
