Great product
Spared me from the horrid gaming headset scheme. I have an Xbox One and PS4. I wanted to use my superb Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones for gaming. It works simply enough for only audio, but finding a mic solution was tricky, until I found this and the Antlion Modmic. I started out using the star tech splitter, but that came out of the box with a finicky connection, and static. I thought this was normal, until I tried my brothers splitter. I contacted star tech and they sent me a replacement, which promptly did the same thing. I then decided to buy this piece of kit, and it worked like a charm, and still does 3 months later. I originally used a cheap lapel mic, to test the setup and it worked perfectly, but was inconvenient. I was constantly pulling the controller off my desk because I forgot to unclip the mic from my shirt. I tried my brothers ModMic, and it was amazing. It has an inline mute, and has fantastic audio quality (not that you can tell on console). It is easy to take on and off of my headphones, and without it, the mount is barely noticeable. I have the best of both worlds, high quality audio, and a high quality mic. I can't recommend the ATH-M50x headphones enough, or save a little money and forgo the detachable cable with the regular M50's. They are fantastic for music, movies, gaming, and everything else involving audio. Do not buy gaming headsets, the majority are overpriced garbage, with a few exceptions. Overall, this product does exactly what it says, and saves me from terrible audio.

Works great
Works great! Fits perfectly with my senheiser headphones. The only difference is the cable is not braided.

It is also important to note that the Xbox One does not currently support chat through "speakers and headphone" like the 360 did
ATTENTION ALL XBOX ONE OWNERS!! If you have one of the newer controllers with the built in 3.5mm jack. This adapter works WITHOUT the official Xbox One Stereo headset adapter. That is correct, all you need is this adapter and the newer controller model and you will be able to use you PC Headset with mic!. The headset I currently use is the Sennheiser PC360. So I cannot speak for all headsets but I would assume it would work for any PC Gaming Headset that uses the red and green 3.5 mm jacks (one jack for sound other for mic). If your still on the fence as to whether it would work, buy this adapter first. If it doesn't work then get the Xbox One headset adapter and it will. This particular adapter also works with the Xbox One Stereo headset adapter. I have personally used the PCV 05 with and without the X1 stereo adapter the PCV worked both ways. However I could have saved $25 just buying the PCV 05 instead. It is also important to note that the Xbox One does not currently support chat through "speakers and headphone" like the 360 did. X1 supports (headphone only) which means people can hear you but unless your headphones are connected to the PCV 05 green jack somehow, you cannot hear other people. You will have to run a 3.5mm male to male cable from the PCV 05 green jack to line in on your TV/sound card/receiver (or some other method). Microsoft made this whole voice chat on X1 extremely annoying to deal with and hopefully they update it one day

Xbox one friendly.
The adapter works with the newer Xbox controller (3.5mm jack built in). Audio and Mic are controlled on your settings, (hit your guide button, then settings) everything works right away through the controller. My Game Zero headset died from stress fractures in the plastic, RIP. I used my replacement headset and worked still just fine. One issue however, the 2 wires on the male end have recently been cutting my audio out to the right ear cup only. Loose connection most likely. It hasn't been a year since my purchase, so I would recommend buying the insurance for a buck or two. Great product, works immediately and crystal clear audio/mic clarity. Seenheiser has a quality product here,

Allowed use of headset with cell phone
I was looking for a way to use a wired PC stereo headset with a cell phone, my Samsung Galaxy S4. Facts are hard to find in the area of compatibility. For instance, the cell phone must have a headphone jack (obviously). But that jack must also support the same pinout as this adapter, which combines the headphone and mic plugs into one plug. There's next to zero info on whether a certain model phone supports this. So I looked to see if my phone supported a headset at all, and if that headset had a mic. If so, then this had a high chance of working. In my case it worked, but other phone models may not. Since the latest generations of phones are always changing ports and specs on them, there's no guarantees. It's much nicer to wear a headset than hold a phone to your ear, especially when on long conversations. My headset of choice when using this is the Sennheiser PC131 Sennheiser PC 131 Binaural Headset with Volume Control and Microphone Mute as it's lightweight, has a mic, and is from a company that makes quality headphones. Of course you can try your own headset with this adapter as well.

Excellent splicer! Does exactly what it's supposed to!
A while ago I bought the splicer cable from Startech to use with my PS4 and Xbox One controllers. That splicer had serious issues with the microphone having a loose connection, causing it to cut out constantly and have very low volume. I finally did what I should have done in the first place and replace it with Sennheiser's version. I was hesitant at first due to it being 3x more expensive, but after the disappointment with Startech's I wish I had just ponied up the cash for this one. It works perfectly and does everything it should, and I would much rather pay $15 for a product that works than $5 for one that doesn't. It works great with PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, and the smartphone and tablet I've tested it with. Do not waste your time or money with a cheaper adapter that is likely of dubious quality. When it comes to gaming, the last thing you want to be worrying about is whether or not your team can actually hear every word you speak into your mic.

This Jammy Reverses the PROBLEM that are COMBO JACKS!
So, I don't know if there's an unwritten rule somewhere that says that if enough manufacturers make devices to backward-adapt newer "innovations," it should say something about the utility of that innovation. Anyway, if there's one thing I truly cannot stand, it's the 3.5mm TRRS "combo" jack. You know, the one that handles both audio-out to a set of headphones as well as the mic-in from the microphone? Usually seen on gaming headsets and the like. Well, I'm glad that I have this little giggy now, because one of my computers that I use for DJing has that combo jack that I hate and this takes it and turns it into two CLEARLY-MARKED 3.5mm jacks...one for headphones, the other for microphone. It does the trick and makes my life a ton easier. LOL

... control audio cables for my headphones that were beyond horrible (don't be like me and try low quality off ...
After foolishly trying several off brand in-line volume control audio cables for my headphones that were beyond horrible (don't be like me and try low quality off brand items with high quality name brand equipment. It may be tempting to save a bit of money initially, but it's like buying trying to drink off brand stale soda with filet Mignon and caviar. And it's a pain in the neck to keep returning junk items that don't work, anyway), I didn't want to make the same mistake when looking for a Y-split cable. So I went name brand with this. It works perfectly and I never have to worry about a thing. I use it with my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and Antlion Audio Mod Mic 5 and I couldn't ask for anything better. There isn't any sound quality loss when using this with my M50x which is just what I was expect from a Sennheiser product's quality. Also shipped fast, arrived before the scheduled delivery.
