20V Max XR Cordless Router, Brushless, Tool Only (DCW600B)

I’ve been very impressed with this router. As expected from DEWALT, the build quality is excellent, and it feels solid and durable in hand. It’s compact, lightweight, and easy to control, making it great for trimming, edge work, and other detailed woodworking tasks.The cordless design is a huge advantage since I don’t have to deal with extension cords getting in the way. It has plenty of power for the jobs I’ve used it on, and the battery life has been more than adequate. Adjustments are straightforward, and the router runs smoothly with consistent results.If you’re already invested in the DEWALT 20V system or looking for a reliable compact router, this is a great addition to your tool collection. It’s well built, easy to use, and performs exactly as expected.

Have used it as a router and it's great. Small, light, cordless, good lighting and visibility, good power, adjustable speed, good battery life. But there's something I discovered that really puts this tool over the top. I had been looking at cordless die grinders for a while; I have a pneumatic one that works great, but I only have two small compressors, neither of which is adequate for it's use. I had a project requiring a die grinder, didn't want to endure the long wait times while the compressors refilled. Was considering using the die grinder bit w/ a drill, then saw the router, which is essentially a die grinder for wood. Removed the base plate, tried to secure a die grinder bit in the collet, but it was loose at full tension. It wasn't the router, the die grinder bits--which were marketed as 1/4", were only .230. So shimmed the bit w/ some tape, and it worked. Better cordless electric die grinder than any I've considered buying. I'll probably get more use out of it in this capacity than as a router.

I bought this DeWalt cordless router back in 2020 and it’s been a solid tool for my woodworking projects. I use it instead of a corded router, and it’s handled everything I’ve needed so far. I’ve used it for rounding corners, doing joinery work, and general trimming on the furniture pieces I build.I still need to pick up the plunge base and attach the guide I bought so I can do internal grooves, but even with the standard base it’s been reliable and easy to control. The brushless motor runs smooth, and the cordless design makes it convenient to grab and use without dealing with a cord.If you’re already in the DeWalt 20V ecosystem and want a dependable router for edge work, joinery, and furniture building, this one is a great choice — especially once you add the plunge base for more detailed cuts.

Excellent Router. Low weight and easy to handle. Speed is very good to achieve smooth cuts.

Lightweight, but packs plenty of power. Runs smoothly and quietly. Not having to deal with a cord is a huge advantage on a router, even more so than most other tools. Even a small 2Ah battery is enough for most hobby needs, although for large projects you will want a bigger battery or multiple batteries.

Excellent little router! I've had it for quite a few months now and it has done very well on everything I needed it to, from rounding over edges all the way up to doing a few t-slots and dado channels. I've done some manual plunging with it as well and it did great. It's easy to pull the spindle out for bit changes and the charge lasts a lot longer than I expected. It came with a edge jig that was ok but I added a longer step of hardwood to it for increased stability. The base is thick solid acrylic and has a place for dust collection so that was good too. Overall very pleased with it. One important thing is to get a smaller profile battery and not the big one that I started out with. Bigger ones are too clunky to use this router easily. But once I put the 2 amp battery on it has done amazingly.

But within its category, the performance is outstanding.Conclusion: It is a powerful, precise, easy-to-use, and extremely versatile router. It stands out especially for its ability to adapt to different configurations and its integration with custom systems.Would I buy it again? Without a doubt. It is a tool that adds a lot of value and quickly becomes essential in the workshop.

After using this, i have now put my well loved but corded router. Powerful even for a battery operated router. The brake is wonderful and the LED lights helps as i mostly do my work after work and day light is limited. Will be getting the dust extractor, definitely needed.

精密な深度調整部分と頑丈な作り。さすがはDeWALT。モーターの音は思ったほどうるさくは無い。パワーも自分の使用範囲では不足なしです。ただ、手の小さな自分にはこの直径は大きいかと。バッテリーに関しては形の小さな2Ahぐらいが使いやすい。写真では暗くて分かりずらいが、細かくて、加工部分が数多い物にもコードが無いので取りかかりやすいと思います。

Very high quality useful tool for trimming and 'circle cutting.' As with most cordless trim routers, it is going to be a little challenging to hold with one hand for those with smaller hands. Bare in mind that if you buy the optional ‘dust collection attachment,’ it will obscure the slot located at the ‘locking button’ where you would normally look in to see the progress of the router. See the attached pics for this. But, this is not really an attribute of how the router itself performs. When fitted with the dust collector, it does do a terrific job of removing nearly ALL shaving though. So, it is a catch 22 of whether seeing the bit progress is more important than ‘picking up all the shavings.’ To use the gap to see ‘bit progression,’ you would still have to wear goggles anyway because – obviously – that is where the shavings will fly out. Just thought I would mention it though in case other are like me and like to eyeball the bit as it travels.
