Interesting and creative
Iike the suggestions on how to loosen up the brushwork. Wish it was bigger and covered more figurative work.

Very good book
The media could not be loaded. I like it very much. I'm trying to loosen up my style and not paint in a too photographic and too realistic way and I think this book gives ideas on how to paint in a more loose and creative style. I think this is for intermediate level, for beginners the paintings may be too difficult.I like better the paintings shown at the beginning of the book that unfortunately don't have the step by step. They are really nice. The ones that have the step by step are the ones that are on the cover of the book and a couple more. I don't like them as much but they are useful to learn the techniques.I am adding photos of paintings of mine I am already copying from the book.I have done a video filming the pages of the book so you can have a better look of the inside of the book.

Wow- a breath of fresh air!
really enjoyed this book and found it very instructive. The artist's use of color was way out of my normal comfort zone - which made it that much more interesting. Found the exercises very helpful, as they showed enough of the various stages, including the initial bright grounds, so as to make sense to someone like me who is more nervous of using such bold color. It was also interesting to see the source photographs and sketches that were used for the paintings. They were quite pedestrian for the most part, and showed how much feeling and atmosphere the artist can contribute and just use the photo as a "skeleton" for the painting. The artist also made me appreciate the loose bold brushstrokes, as I have a tendency to be too tight and worried about details in my painting. It is a very helpful book for exploring and trying a different method of looking at painting. For me, it really opened my eyes to capturing more of the feeling of what I'm seeing, rather than the actual focus on rendering the subject. I hope that Amazon will carry the artist's video soon!

An excellent "how to" book.
I am quite happy with this book as it fulfilled the wants I had when I purchased. It is aimed at people that wish to paint in Mr. Akib's style; bigger formats, lots of paint, and a fairly abstract style. It is excellent specifically regarding the use of color and how colors work together. A great road map for painting a diverse number of subjects. You can literally measure yourself against the author if you choose to follow his step by step exercises.

Excellent exercise and Inspiration
Love this book. It's given my acrylic paintings added vibrancy. The exercises are an inspiration. My painting style was far too stiff and this has given me the inspiration I needed to break loose.

Great Book!
Really love this book. I've referenced it often since I've ordered it. Great source for artists looking to loosen up their painting style. I also really like the author's suggestions for color palette as they veer away from the boring traditional color palette.

Fun
He makes it look easy. I've tried his technique once and, although I was not successful in letting the undercoat show through the way he does, it's a good painting using a much freer style than my usual.

Great book from a talented artist
I had been waiting for this book from Hashim after seeing him demonstrate his methods at the SAA art day in Islington 2011. I was mesmerised at the way mere strokes suddenly become 3D images using imaginative and bold colours. Having read it several times now it has really helped me understand how and why tonal values are far more important than detail in the initial stages and my own art is improving as a result of this. It really makes you think in a different way and Hashim holds your hand through the various projects. Well worth the purchas if you want to improve. Whilst he uses acrylics it works for oils too.

Inspirational
I wanted a book that would help me to loosen up my paintings and this book has done the trick. The step-by-step exercises are useful, especially as you're given the photo that they're based on. Using a broad, flat brush and not pre-mixing the colours leads to a more vibrant and less photographic painting, with less fiddling with details. I recommend this book.

Inspiring and well presented guide
I bought this to add to my self-learning materials during Covid lockdown and have it as one of my two bedtime reading books! I have yet to actually paint a project from the book but have been picking up tips as an amateur. I like the friendly tone and explanations

What can I say.... I love this book and the artist. I saw him work at the SAA 'all about painting' I was so happy when I saw this book for sale (a short demo is never enough to take it all in) it is so full of colour 'vibrant' it shows step by step how to achieve the result you are looking for in a totally different style with colours I would never have thought of to use in this way.Thank you Akim maybe one day I will paint like you I will keep on trying with the help of your great book............

Great Book
I new what to expect when I pre-ordered Vibrant Acrylics as I have attended many of Hash's workshops but when it came I was supprised how different it was to other artists books. I am used to seeing the vibrancy of his work and his beautiful brush strokes so was thrilled to see in his book how easy it was to follow. I had completed two of the tuition excersise in the first weekend using his tecnique and my photos. What I also liked was that there were swatches for the ground colour. Can't wait for the next book!!
