Molded roots.
Received my crowns with mold on the roots, I will update later. *Update* 4/25 10 days after receiving my crowns. I was a bit skeptical and irritated because my crowns arrived 10 days ago moldy I was under the impression they would probably not make it I decided to turn my project into a total experiment. I wrote them off completely and decided to soak them for a few hours completely forgetting and a few hours turned into two full days fully submerged I was more than convinced at this point they were a goner.... At this point I no loner cared and decided to plant them crowding each other in a large container for this experiment and as of yesterday 4 of the 10 crowns have pushed up asparagus. IM COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY AND WILL BUY more when design my actual garden bed. I will change the stars to 5 if all 10 push asparagus. Update 5/29 pretty sure they all sprouted so I will give 5/5. Pleased with my experiment.

Better than expected.
Ordering Asparagus crowns in September, stupid, right. Well, the price was decent so I ordered a bunch of 10 for shipping to California while we still have some warmth left. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. about 70% of them are pushing up shoots just a couple of weeks after planting. Maybe the other 30% will do something now, or in the spring, maybe not. But it's a deal for those that are growing to be doing well. So, pretty darned happy with what is growing. Looking forward to some tasty purple asparagus in a couple of years.

Poor rate of sprouting so far
Disappointed in the growth rate so far after 5.5 weeks in early spring conditions. 1 out of 10 crowns has sent up shoots. In comparison, 5 green asparagus crowns from a different seller planted on the same day and with all of the same conditions have all sent up multiple shoots. Seller sent back generic responses to inquires rather than helping or answering questions about timing. Will update review if the crowns come to life.

Beautiful delicious plants
I’ve tasted my first few heads of fresh asparagus, and these are so delicious! Sweet, succulent, asparagusy, but not overpoweringly so, and in all very refreshing and addicting lol. I got the purple verity. My picky 5 year old and not so picky 1 year old love them and keep wanting to eat whatever new spears come up I keep having to redirect them whenever we walk by the plants. The roots arrived healthy and very clean looking no mold or anything like that and have care instructions and soil recommendations. They were all wrapped and and prepared carefully one of them had even sprouted before I opened them up. They’re still young, but they emerge purple then turn green as they grow. In all I feel like I’ve purchased from a very great seller I haven’t had any problems with the roots, and I plan on buying more in the future.

Another great buy!!!
Another great buy from this seller. My purple asparagus did take a little longer to sprout than my Washington asparagus but like they say. Good things come to those who wait! They were a little moldy but 3/4 of them are growing. My kids can’t wait till next year so we can eat them. They were huge roots. Don’t buy from the big magazine company!!! Buy from them you won’t be disappointed!!!!
