Kelly Hoppen Home: From Concept to Reality

I bought Kelly Hoppen's Style: The Golden Rules... which inspired me to buy Home: From Inspiration to Reality. It seems to me that Kelly repeats many of the pictures from one book to the next; it is simply that the design detail focused on (within the repeated picture) varies from one book to the next. Also, much of what is photographed in the books is available for viewing online free of charge. In spite of this, I would still highly recommend Home: From Inspiration... because the designs are a great inspiration to people who love the Modern and Contemporary styles in interior design. People who do not particularly like these styles may find her books repetitive. People who like these styles will love this book. I like the way her designs are both sophisticated and polished yet `green' and rustic all at the same time. She does a very warm and liveable Modern that seems very achievable to regular people who would like a nice home, but who still have to budget and prioritize. The design advice is pretty commonsensical; it is information you may have seen before if you have read a few design books, but it is works to reassure you that you can achieve a well-designed home without being a professional. I have found that the photos and advice inspire me to come up with my own designs for furniture, cabinetry, an even doors. [I live in the Caribbean where it is relatively easy and fairly reasonably priced to have artisans do custom work for you] I have no design background and I have never felt moved to design before. I find myself flipping through Home: From Inspiration and Style: The Golden Rules (almost obsessively) almost every day. Each time I see something fresh. I like the books so much that I am looking to see which other of her books I might enjoy. For me, buying this book was a useful and excellent purchase.

Not just a great design and coffee table book but also great for manual for interior design tips and cheats. Kelly’s style holds up to the test of time the lessons in the book are still relevant today!

This design book is very well done and a how-to guide to styling your home.

Love Kelly Hoppen design asthetic. A must have for contemporary interior design enthusiasts. The book has perfect options and beautiful pics throughout.

Whilst this books is a few years old the advice is current & appealing. I was loaned one of her books & whilst I find her overly balanced ( articles always lined up n a certain way ) her eye for detail & beautiful textures is inspiring.

Excellent item from an excellent interior designer.... i like the way she sees things and the way she takes advantage of space!

This book didn't really engage my interest as much as I expected. I have a number of design books, and work in the industry, and for me, this one had a lot of repetition of the same ideas repeated throughout - also, not a broad range of projects to review. Made it about half way through, and then found myself flipping through to the end.

As always, kellyHoppen books never disappoint. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this book to any one embarking on an interior Design project or wanting to change any room in their home. Exceptional book love Kelly Hoppen material 🤗

広い空間を使った、ダイナミックでゴージャスな少し懐かしいモダンインテリアです。 どちらかというと、ホテルのラウンジ、サロンといったパブリックスペースを イメージしてしまいます。生活感がないのですね。 色合いや質感は参考になりますが、まず前提に広さがあるので、家具もとにかく大型！ Kelly Hoppenの本で日本の家で参考にするには、 Kelly Hoppen Style: The Golden Rules of Design のほうがお勧めです。

mon commentaire ne peut être que subjectif. Belle qualité de papier, pagination claire. J'aime particulièrement les "case studies" qui mettent en parallèle les challenges à prendre en compte et la réalisation finale. In fine, ce n'est que du bon sens, mais du bon sens mis en image. Sympathique pour ceux et celles qui aiment la décoration d'intérieur et particulièrement le style de Kelly Hoppen (la reine du taupe). Version anglaise uniquement. Pas de panique si vous n'êtes pas bilingues, les textes sont très faciles à comprendre.
