Some trouble....but they replaced glaze.
I had really hoped these would be good. There had been good reviews on them and the price was affordable. The wide assortment of colors made this an attractive purchase. Sadly, some of the colors are like grit, and adding water and shaking does not seem to help. It is like trying to glaze with toothpaste! The brown was the worst. I wonder if this is normal for this product or did I get an old, or somehow damaged set? At any rate it has been frustrating trying to use them. And seems like a waste of money, too. I wish I had not bought them. NOTE: I contacted the Speedball company. The glaze may have accidentally froze before I received. They replaced the ruined colors. I was happy with their customer service.

Vibrant colors at cone 6
I’m very happy with these underglazes. I was a little concerned about color fading at cone 6 as the pictures only show up to cone 5, but they’re more vibrant than I had hoped. They blend easily and well. Photo shows before and after, using individual colors alone and mixed to get intermediate colors. With a clear glaze on top, the colors really pop.I highly recommend these. They work well, give great color, and are very affordable.

Underglaze for ceramics
This is the first time I have purchased from this seller (Noteworthy Goods). The Speedball product is ok, but it appears to be a bit thick. My lack of stars is not because I didn't like Speedball, but I am not satisfied with the seller. When the bottles are new, they have a foil seal on them. I received 3 without the seals, and one of the colors was actually only 2/3 full. I am wondering if the seller sent me used product. I will definitely see who is selling the next time I order craft supplies. Buyer Beware!

Cone 10 is a gamble with some colors, but will keep experimenting.
The brown is complete junk. I even tried mixing it with a mixer, it’s clumpy and full of chunks. The other colors are alright, yellow completely burned out at cone 10 firing. (See Judy plate - the flowers were yellow before firing) The yellow turns white (see dump truck cup, which was supposed to be yellow)Brown burned out cone 10, but again it was a clumpy mess before applying. (See savage feather plate- feathers were colored brown)Will try thicker layers and firing at cone 10 again and keep experimenting and updating. Blue did well, purple, pink, green & black. All those pieces In picture were covered in clear coat and fired cone 10.

Perfect choice for the hobbyist
I read a lot of reviews before choosing Speedball underglazes. They’re reportedly not quite as good as the more pricey brands but if you’re a hobbyist, the price difference makes up for it.Hint: put some underglaze and a drop or two of water in a fine tipped bottle for detailing. And DO NOT ALLOW UNDERGLAZES TO FREEZE. The suspension will separate with unpleasant results.

Good underglazes.
Good underglaze colors that fire well to cone 6. The only negative is the need to apply in 3 layers to ensure good coverage. I do like that they offer the ability to mix colors together to create custom colors.

Great underglaze IF not exposed to freezing temps!
The media could not be loaded. My 4 star rating comes with a huge caveat: DO NOT PURCHASE AND HAVE DELIVERED IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES!!!! Several of the glazes in this set clumped! (See photo and video). I ordered them during winter, but did not use them for a few months. Would have returned them, but too much time had passed. That being said, the ones that didn't clump are really bright and pretty, both as a softer matte without a clear glaze over, and bold and glossy with the clear (sold separately) over. I have purchased several other colors during warmer months and have had no problems, and really love using these underglazes!(Please note that the test bowl photo shows several more colors than this set contains.)

Great underglazes at great price. Not sheer- not supposed to be
Great value. Ug colors are usually about the same. Olof after fired. This is true of all but the green. It looks mint green but fires olive. I add white and yellow to it to get lighter greens. Mix to get your own colors or several shades of same color. Many ppl complain it’s gritty and doesn’t stick well- they aren’t shaking well enough. U can also add water to thin - so really get way more out of a bottle than thinner more expensive brands. Can mix w each other or other brands. Only the brown is grainy. I add white and yellow and water to it and super shake or stir. All ug is 3 coats. I use 4 for max color. I also put this in the cheap metal tipped bottles and write and draw with it esp on bottom of pots since it does not stick to kiln shelf. Heart pic is bottom side w hearts lines n dots design done w the bottles. It is slightly raised and only needs 1 coat w bottle application. Mermaid baby zombie pic is all ug with a little clear over it for slight shine. Great value. Works all temps and with all glazes and other ug brands that I have tried(many brands). Love them. Just really shake before each use. Add water if u want it thinner.

Only 5 out of 12 were usable! AVOID!
The paints all separated.Unable to mix them back together, using various methods. They have been stored in an indoor (heated to normal levels) space. These are not worth the money.Very disappointed. See attached images.

Excellent underglaze
The diversity of colours was impressive. Everyone a stunning winner. 4 stars only because the PRICE is very high.

Easy to use, good range of colours
These seem to work well, the colours emerge bright after clear glaze applied and fired. I am not keen on some of the original colours, but had intended to mix them anyway to achieve the colours I want. As easy to apply to greenware or after biscuit firing, just like painting with watercolours. Delivery took a while as they come from USA, but mine arrived 5 days before the predicted delivery date, so that was good. Would buy again, though as I tend to make quite small pots and objects, the sample sizes will last me a long time.
