This mute is a funny hybrid, and while it does not have the best tone of my mutes, it does a few things extremely well. First, since it is soft and somewhat collapsible, it fits in even a relatively-fitted hard shell case. Thus, I always have it with me. Second, it works well as a louder-than-average practice mute and a bucket mute. It is not as quiet as the Bremmer Sssh mute, but again, it fits in my case, so it sees more use than my Bremmer. I don't have another bucket mute to compare it to, but it's bucket sound is pretty good to my ear. If you want a versatile mute that will always be in your case, this is a good pick.

Not So Good
I was hoping for something to reduce the volume while maintaining pitch. This product doesn't do that. The seams on mine came apart on the second day -- I had to sew it back together. I do not recommend this product.

Good bucket sub
It works pretty well! You can either put it all the way on, which is really too soft for ensemble playing but good for practicing, or you can kind of loop it over the top of your bell for a covered, bucket mute tone. May be a little crisper than a real bucket. It might muddy intonation and centering on tones a bit at high and low pitch levels, but that seems to depend on how much you are covering with it. I don't know what color choices there are. The one I got is dark blue and red, which seems a bit jaunty for where I use it (subbing on bassoon parts in a community orchestra). I'd get more subdued colors next time... but the orchestra isn't very good, anyway, so it doesn't make much difference!

Just what I needed
It's a simple compact mute that works well as my bucket mute. My only complaint is that it has a couple folds in it that haven't come out yet... I'm sure after a bit more use, it'll improve. Good muted sound! Doesn't work well has a hat.

Good product. Saves room in my gig bag!
Bucket mutes take up way too much room in gig bags. Here is a solution that sounds great. Everybody uses them now.

An OK solution, but versatile and compact
I initially purchased this thinking it would be a fantastic solution as I live in an apartment with neighbors. It does a decent job of muting, but I do notice odd resistance at higher notes, which is in part due to me getting back into playing after 10 years and trying to rebuild a weak embouchure. I like that because it is fabric it folds down and fits in my instrument case and it is incredibly light, so weight-wise it is barely noticeable. There are better sounding solutions on the market, but this does offer attractive features.

An excellent mute for practicing and gigs
This is a versatile mute. When used for practicing it offers a great sound level reduction without creating any appreciable back pressure. All the pedal notes come out easily. Just put it over the entire bell for this purpose. When used at gigs, it serves as an excellent substitute for a hat. In this application, hang it over the top edge of the bell, thus covering about 60% of the opening. And, hey, if you drop it it lands silently, and will fit into any soft gig bag.
