Wilton Tasty-Fill Mini Cake Pans Set, 4-Piece

These are nice little pans if you are looking to take a bit of a shortcut with cake assembly. I'm a trained pastry cook and am not intimidated by filling & stacking cakes but when I'm making things for my family it's nice to speed things up a bit. These work admirably for that. They bake quickly, release easily from the pan, come out level (as long as you don't overfill with batter), and the pocket is a good size for filling. Fill two, let the filling set up in the fridge, quickly flip one on top of the other, and you are good to go with icing (or not). Unless you have a large appetite or are using very light/simple cake & filling, using two of these pans to make one filled & stacked 4" cake will give you about four servings. I recommend using a light filling (mousse or whipped cream or something similar) or else you will have a very dense bite of filling, especially if you plan to ice with an American buttercream.

I only bought the one set of four, so I made a small regular cake in an 8 inch pan and then I made four of the mini cakes which will equal 2 cakes after I put the filling and place the layers together. So it looks like the cakes use about half of a box of cake mix. According to the recipe, one box of cake mix makes 5 cakes. I believe that means that you will have 10 halves to make 5 cakes. Unfortunately, the container has 4 containers, so even if I bought another set, I would have just a little too much cake mix for 8 pans. You will need to cook some cakes, remove them, and cook another batch. I live in Arizona and bake and cook year round not worrying about heating up the house too much, but that seems like a waste of energy to me considering that the oven will be on 20 minutes longer for another batch. If these came with 5 pans, that would make more sense. The cakes came out no problem. I have only used them once so far and am pretty pleased so far.

I really like this pan. They are really cute. They are perfect for making deserts for 1-2 people. They are very easy to clean and store. I only gave 4 stars because of their tiny size (about 4 inches). I wish they were little bigger like 6 inches. I recently made a cake out of this, it was perfect to bake a special occasion cake for a couple. But it would be more nice they had 6 inches size pan. If you have this pan and if you want to make a regular 6 inches or 8 inches cake, then you have to buy an extra cake pan because this pan is only good to make about 4 inches cake.

These pans can be used to create a small layer cake with a "hidden" surprise filling or they can be used to create individual "shortcake" type cake bowls. The non-stick coating works very well and the size is perfect for two people when used individually or four people when used to make a layer cake (or one or two very hungry teenaged boys!). Your creativity will be working overtime thinking of all the delightful combinations. The set comes with four individual pans, so it's easy to bake enough for a family.

I think these are just some of the cutest little cakes you will ever make! I love the recipes that they send with it and I have made some of my own combinations and they were lovely. Well made pans and I haven't had any problems with sticking and evenly cooked! I do wish they were just a little bit bigger because it takes several rounds of baking to work through one cake box batch.

I bought this product because I thought it would be cute to try and make little cakes for dessert. Everything came as supposed to and well packaged. When tired to use it, I guess I added to much cake batter into the pan, and spilled all over my oven. It was a huge mess. After the 3rd time trying it came out right. It says to fill it up to the line but that wasn't the case. Maybe depends on the cake batter used or consistency... Not sure. Just make sure to practice before you think you'll make a masterpiece! All in all, it's great and described as is. Give it a shot! It was a fun, not frustrating experience.

I just love these little cake pans. They are perfect for our small family. Larger cakes usually go to waste. They are so easy to use and super easy to clean. Only complaint is the recipes. They are for about 5 mini cakes. Obviously, you have a lot left over or you can wait til they cool and then make additional, but that takes forever. So, I do my own adjustments and couldn't be happier.

I feel in love with this item when I first used it! It makes little 1/2 cakes (if you use just one serving) where you can put whipped cream or custard then fruit for a beautiful dessert. Or put 2 together and have a special middle filled with almost anything you want, then frost the entire cake. So many ideas with these little beauties!

Très beau set de 4 mini moules... pas si mini, il ne s'agit pas de moule pour individuel, mais pour deux personnes et pourtant je suis gourmande! ;-) Je les pensais sincèrement mieux adaptés pour une personne...c'est pour cette raison que je mets 3 étoiles et non pas 4. Quelques explications accompagnent les moules, qui sont bien évidemment anti-adhésifs et se nettoient facilement.
