180 Days: Spelling & Word Study for Fourth Grade

This is a fantastic spelling addition to whatever reading curriculum that you choose! It has regular and sensible practices with spelling words that are logical and or to help kids meet phonics goals as well as state standards without smothering them! I love this book and the kids love it too.

Contiene ejercicios diarios que ayudan a mejorar la comprensión lectora, la gramática y el uso del lenguaje de manera progresiva. Es ideal tanto para uso en casa como en el aula, manteniendo a los niños motivados mientras practican habilidades clave. Muy recomendable para complementar el aprendizaje del 4.º grado.

I like the book as support for language arts, but it doesn't really stand on it's own for my homeschooled child. We need more than one page a day (for activities), especially because not all the pages actually use the spelling words. The book does a good job of reviewing spelling AND word study, but it doesn't stand on its own for either. It's more like a good homework book to reinforce what's been taught. I'm happy to be using the short YouTube lessons that Mrs. Rhoades has posted for this book, but disappointed that the online digital resources don't include the full lessons (rather, you get just the first page of each lesson and the "teacher resources"). If you're a classroom teacher, you're still going to have to tear out the lessons and make copies for your kiddos instead of just hitting print. Shell Education allows teachers to do so, so it seems silly that the content isn't provided in the digital resources. Of well...

I homeschool my daughters and this has been a great supplement for spelling. The current curriculum we use doesn’t focus much on spelling or have spelling tests so I wanted something for extra practice. I love that it’s quick 1 page lessons so it doesn’t feel like a ton of extra work for her. We test once a week and she rarely gets any wrong.

Great creative lessons and age appropriate. We enjoy all these books as well!

I LOVE these books. We homeschool and use these for vocabulary and spelling. They are straight forward and easy to follow. I like the weekly design. I wish I would’ve found these sooner.
