    Get Ready for an Adventure!

Stevie is a successful author who has to make an appearance in her home town, which she doesn't have fond memories of. The question is, can she put the past behind her so she can deliver her message to students at her former high school? In this story, Stevie is accomplished and polished, but it took a lot of strength to achieve this. She has recreated her life from a past she is not happy with. I give her kudos for this because, it is never too late to start living your dreams. At a point, Stevie realizes her past will only haunt her as long as she keeps replaying the negative situations in her mind. She meets up with a woman from her past. I felt this was interesting for her to come back into contact with a person who’d been an adult when Stevie was in high school. Now they are both over 21. At the same time she is forced to face her demons. She is lost in a web of confusion and frustration.I was amazed over how the author builds and develops the character. There were a lot of interesting twists that kept me on to the end.Stevie has a secret that no one is to know including a close friend. It is Stevie's challenge to live her life while protecting her precious stone. Her boundaries are threatened and she quickly learns from this.Underneath the secret is another secret. Stevie needs to play her cards carefully with this one. If she succeeds, a new awareness will open for another, giving them opportunities that otherwise could have never happened. If she fails consequences will arise. Stevie is stuck in the middle of a dilemma. Does she reveal her secrets? Can she put together a game plan and trust the process? If so, is the risk worth the gold at the end of the rainbow? This made the story even more exciting! How do you keep something like this hidden without going crazy?Love also comes to Stevie. She wants to impress this person as well as help them grow. However, she must keep her secret intact. I loved the romanctic scenes and felt that the author described them beautifully. They flowed with elegance. This book is very clear and easy reading. It’s a real page turner and the story has true depth to it. The author's characters are complex. I feel that I learned things from the main character. If I could meet Stevie in person, I'd shake her hand and thank her. I found myself wanting more! I wanted to see where Stevie was taking me on her journey. At one point, she committed such an act of selflessness that I felt my heart melt. She has an important message to share. The way the author delivers this message will win your heart.Get on your hiking boots because you are in for an adventure that you won't forget.

Enjoyable love story where characters are torn between what is real and what is true.

Please read this to the end. I oscillated around 2 to 3 stars at the beginning of Timeless because I wasn’t sure where the 29 back to 18 high school plot was going. However, I quickly changed my mind and overall I would give this a 4.5 to 5 star rating. So, I don’t believe one can give this book a fair shot on the first chapters. The main character, Stevie Geller, is really torn between what is real and what is true. Stevie starts out, pardon my bluntness, as a bit of a shy wuss who is a reclusive lesbian author but finds her true voice, speaks up for herself and others, and gets the girl. Is it a feel good book in the end? Hell, yes. There is enough sadness in this world. I read for hope, fun, and the warm and fuzzy of getting the girl. We all have our own timelines in finding our authentic self and establishing a relationship. I think Rachel Spangler wove a nice fictional story with characters that we can relate to – deep but down to earth, wanting to push the envelope but holding back sometimes and other times letting it rip. I could not put the book down a third of the way through and found myself reflecting on my own high school experience when I did take breaks. The book addresses bullying. One reviewer wrote that it was not realistic. I’m sorry it didn’t ring a bell for that reader but bullying like many things in life comes in different shapes, sizes, and shades of gray. I felt it was realistic. No, it wasn’t extreme bullying but not every bullying situation is going to be alike.

    I'm impressed...

This was very engaging!I got a few hints from readers that there was a YA thread going on in this book, but there was a spin on it becasue it had the whole "back to the future" vibe. We may have had a good chunk of the main character's teenage life under a microscope, but it was seen through an adult's eyes. A raunchy adult at times I might add (which tickled me to no end). So is it really a YA? It felt pretty mature to me.I enjoyed this book a lot. It surprised me. I can't recall reading any of this author's books in the past but I'm a fan now. It's funny, smart, educational (which can be great sometimes), great dialogue (really great), great character growth and study (Jody = super sexy), decent supporting cast and two very engaging ladies that I loved reading about (Stevie = adorable!). I like how the lead wasn't very mushy but found her own way of navigating romance. That made it all feel very real to me. Yeah, some science-fiction was thrown in so prepare to suspend reality, but I read this in a single day so yeah, it's very much so worth the effort.Great job Ms. Spangler. You're awesome and I'm buying all of your books. Probably in a span of days. And probably with money that I shouldn't be spending. 5 stars for thoroughly entertaining me and delivering a steamy love scene that didn't fade to black.
