POWER PROSpectra Fiber Braided Fishing Line

With almost all tackle, you usally get what you pay for. The trick is to find good value for you money. Cheap out and you'll likely be crying in your beer when the day is done. "For me" PowerPro has proven to be well worth the money. Mostly I use it for 50 lbs plus applications. Often I'm on on Party Boats and having to deal with people that aren't paying attention and tangle lines. The PowerPro holds up and is not the weak link. Beware though, it doesn't give AT ALL, so, expect to pair it with an appropriate size Florocarbon "shock leader" when dealing with tuna and other fish that hit hard!

I only buy Power Pro braid. I've tried others but most are thicker line, not smooth like Power Pro and tangle much more easily. I get huge birds nests with other braided line quite frequently. Not with Power Pro, unless it gets old, then it will start to tangle. It doesn't happen for a long time though. Color doesn't fade either

Use it for fishing for halibut, rockfish, lingcod and striped bass off the Golden Gate. Has worked well. Strong with thin diameter.

I have used Power Pro for close to 20 years now and have to say this is the best overall line to my knowledge and I do not know of a better braid. The first name brand braid I tried was total junk and was more like wire and several others I have used were not as easy to cast and tended to bite into the spool and make a mess. I recently tried a few nearly five star brands of braid on Amazon that were total junk as well that I sent back or threw in trash because I didn't discover it was trash quick enough. I have also tried one of the newer generations of Power Pro and was not impressed since it was so slick as claimed in the name that you would have trouble with knots and the coloration of line was off too. The one detractor to this line is that color does fade with use, but I don't know any braids where this is not an issue. The waters that I fish are best suited to the green and I do not know of many situations where another color would be better. The only place where this line falls short is that it is not invisible so tie a leader of line that is using a uni to uni knot and you can solve that situation.

Purchased this braided fishing line for trout, installed on a spinning reel, it comes off the reel real well during a cast and when reeled onto reel it lays great. Very durable, has not faded after several fish trips.

Absolute best braided line

I bought this line for fishing bigger freshwater game fish, like pike, salmon & muskie. I have fished both sandy and rocky/debris-strewn bottoms and have landed fish in excess of 35 lbs with it and have had no issues whatsoever. Its small diameter and low stretch properties make.it.a.great choice for trolling, especially where you have a large amount of line out such as long-lining and planer board applications. Although the bright yellow colour claims to be "high-visibility", I would suggest that depending on lighting and other environmental conditions, it really isn't all that much more visible than the moss green colour. The line's performance is the quality I have come to expect from PowerPro.

I have used the product for an entire season trolling on the Great Lakes and it has been very good and reliable without a single break-off. This may not be the most colour-fast line or the slickest of the braided lines out there, but it is a very reliable and predictable product with a very good reputation and inspires confidence. I could not beat the price anywhere I looked for this item and I will be looking for it again after my next fishing season in a high visibility colour when it come time to re-spool my reels. Absolutely zero complaints from me regarding either the product or the purchasing experience as a whole.👍👍
