Cooler Master Q500L Micro-ATX Tower, ATX Motherboard Support, Magnetic Dust Filter, Transparent Acrylic Side Panel, Adjustable I/O & Fully Ventilated Airflow (MCB-Q500L-KANN-S00)

The case is very strong and well built. No sharp corners or edges anywhere and everything is very well laid out for such a tiny case. I went from a Rosewell Full Tower (nearly 36" x 36"x 10"), the biggest case I could find at the time, for a Threadripper build nearly 5 years ago. This Q500L case literally fits inside the old case. The only two real problems with this case the power supply (with a full ATX board) mounts in the upper front of case and blocks air flow to the CPU cooler. Only way to solve this would be an external power supply or a fan above the power supply. Also, the mesh holes for the case could have been bigger to allow more air flow, at least where you would mount fans. I installed a AMD 1950x Threadripper, ASROCK x399 full ATX MoBo inside the Q500L case, with a BeQuit Dark Rock Pro TR4 cooler, Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 and Sapphire Rx 6700xt (dual fan) Video Card. Everything FITS!!! (accept the front cover does NOT fit with Dark Rock Pro TR4 cooler). I like to do radical case mods, so this one is a work in progress... JayzTwoCents style, cutting holes and and modding. So far, I've only done custom snake skin paint job. Front cover will be replaced with something meshed for improved air flow. I also have ordered some custom video card power supply cables, the current ones work but look like crap. This is a work in progress... It runs very well with one rear exhaust fan, one front intake fan, one exhaust fan under GPU (blowing down or out side cover) and one exhaust fan above cpu/power supply. Cutting out holes for all fans would also improve air flow. As I stated before, the biggest draw back of this build is the power supply blocking air flow. An cpu AIO could be a possibility, but I really wanted to go air. This would be a great case for small form factor build, something with an APU or someone like me that likes to MOD and do something different.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well made this case is given the price point. I managed to fit in a full-size ATX motherboard into the system and there is still plenty of breathability. The cable management routing holes are all well placed and made for a very clean build. I will start with some of the cons: -Acrylic side panel. Where it looks nice to have a window to see inside, it collects dust like crazy since it is plastic. It requires a regular wipedown. Granted, I get this is what to expect at this price point, I almost would have preferred a mat cover over a dusty window. -The mounting brackets for SSDs are really convenient. However, a pretty big flaw with them is that it doesn't offset the holes at all so you cannot get a snug fit on the screws unless you use some sort of washer to add space. This is not a huge deal for regular SSDs but if you plan to put in a hybrid drive which is the same size, keep this in mind. You definitely want to avoid any wiggle with HDDs. Also, the holes are mounted about 1MM too low vertically which makes connecting a SATA power cable somewhat cumbersome as it doesn't want to go in straight. The edge of the plate interferes with a snug connection on the SATA cable. That being said, it does work fine. Overall, I highly recommend this case if you have limited vertical clearance on your desk. It was surprisingly compact without hurting thermals. I managed to fit 2 intake fans and 2 outtake fans, all unobstructed. That being said, there is room for an AIO in this system. A single 120MM AIO will fit nicely in the top of the case. However, with how the PSU mounts it prevents you from using a larger radiator. Maybe with an SFX Power Supply, you could fit a 240 MM radiator. A nice plus is the stylized magnetic dust filters as well!

This PC case is exactly what I was looking for. At this price point, it's the most compact tower that can accommodate an ATX mobo. It's sturdy, semi-modular, lightweight, and the patterned dust filters look great. There's plenty of room for cable management and I've had no issues fitting everything inside. The case can be inverted if you pop out the feet from the bottom, which is one of the best things about it. You won't have to worry about missing out on the view panel if your PC needs to sit on the left side of your desk. I don't know if there's a better budget-friendly option with this functionality. The downside of this case is that it has the nickname "MasterOven" for a reason. The holes along the chassis are too small and spaced out to allow for optimal airflow. I've had a significant increase in temps and the case is warm to touch when my PC's under stress. If you have the right tools, you can cut out holes for your fans, but the design could've been better in the first place. The front panel is a little flimsy when plugging in a USB cable and it also would've been nice to have the option of glass. My acrylic panel arrived with micro-scratches and I still need to buff them out. The last two bits mentioned aren't deal-breakers, and if it weren't for the airflow problems I'd give this case 5 stars. I'd recommend getting it if you need something compact and can make the modifications for better airflow.

I really enjoyed using this case in one of the numerous pc builds I’ve completed. I found that the plastic pins that push together to hold a fan wherever you like were awesome! The fans haven’t moved an inch! Next, the way the front panel can be moved around to different places was a nice option. The case was easy for me to build in and had nice opening to route cables! Lastly, the case had great airflow for my use. This case holds a build thats in a wood shop running design softwares that get sent over to a massive cnc machine. The dust in the shop is unreal, this case has had no problem in that environment. The sweet dust screen and some positive air flow have kept dust out. The cool design on the dust screens is a one if my favorite parts. I found that the pattern on the filters give the the case a cool unique look that I have got nothing but positive comments on! In the end, I personally like how much something small like a pattern can make a huge difference in the appearance and overall look. I would recommend this case for its modular features, easy mounting for fans, good airflow and dust protection, ease of access to build in, and it looks dang sweet with the cool dust filter patterns! I really had a great experience with this case! Rock on cooler master!

I ordered this case the day it got released, before seeing anyone review it, or without thinking twice and all I have to say is... This case is fantastic. I decided to downsize from a Cooler Master Masterbox Pro 5 RGB (as seen in the pictures) and this case is perfect. My temperatures for my GPU (Vega 56) and my CPU (Ryzen 7 1700x OC'd @4.1ghz) are running cooler than ever. My GPU rarely gets about 55c, even during extended gaming sessions. In my old case, it would hit 80c all the time. My CPU runs a bit cooler now too, and my VRMs are nice and chilly barely reaching 60c. That's a far cry from the 95c temps on the VRMs I was getting in my old case. I have ZERO issues that others seem to complain about. People are calling it the "masteroven". Not even close. What's so hard about adding fans?? The Deep Cool fans I have (3 120mm RGB and 2- 140mm RGB) allow it to run very cool. Air flow is not an issue at all. I have the very bottom 2 fans and the bottom front on pull with the fan on the 120mm rad and the 2- 140mm fans on top exhausting, taking advantage of the nature of heat rising and also getting excellent airflow through my blower style GPU and also across the VRMs of the motherboard. The PSUs fan exhausts up as well, following the path of the airflow. Building inside this thing was a dream, having built 8 PCs in the past year and a half, I have to say its one of my favorite cases to build in. Plenty of room to fit full size components, and plenty of room on the back of the motherboard tray for cable management with plenty of hold-down points for zip-tying. It looks awesome and exceeded my expectations. My next step is definitely a custom loop water cooling setup for both the GPU and CPU. I'll update this review when that happens.

***Edit*** After using this case for 2 weeks, I noticed heat issues when the CPU was under load. I have an i7 CPU, not overclocked, and during Lightroom exports, the core temps were hitting 100. Moving the dust filter to the top helped a bit. I installed a fan in the front, and that helped too, but it made the PC loud, and it was running a lot. I also increased the fan speeds and usage times. I think that the problem is that the PSU is mounted vertically at the top on the front of the case, so it blows exhaust right onto the CPU. That also means that there is no cool air intake. directly in line with the CPU. An intake fan in the bottom of the case doesn't do much, since it's right against the ground, there is a dust filter, and the GPU blocks it. A fan in the front of the case at the bottom of the front panel isn't in line with the CPU. Removing the front dust filter helps a bit, but then the case will fill up with dust. ***** I was building up a new PC, and I like to keep the tower under my desk, but I only have about 17" of space, so I needed a shorter tower, preferable with the power button and USB on the front or side. Also, I needed a case that would hold an ATX MoBo and a large GPU. I was deciding between this one and the Lian Li 011D Mini. I have to admit, I really wanted the Lian Li, because of the extra room, build quality, and aesthetics, but it had a couple of drawback. The buttons and ports are on the top, it's a little wider, and it has a lot of glass, so I was afraid of hitting it with my foot and shattering a panel. Also, the Lian Li was more than 2x as expensive, and I feel like a case is one area where I can cut corners a bit. Also, although it looks pretty, I'm not planning to install a bunch of LED lights, and I'm keeping it under my desk anyway, so it's not really a showpiece. I would say that this case, the Cooler Master, so far has met my expectations. Pros: The build quality is decent. I didn't run into any sharp edges or poorly-cut panels. The looks are understated and minimalist, which I like. Space is well-used and well designed, so you can fit a lot into a smaller space. Shorter tower. Buttons and ports on the side. I/O panel can be placed in many positions. Can be positioned vertically or horizontally. I really like the little carriers for the drives. They will each hold 1 HDD or 2 SDD (or 2 small HDD). It's easy to take them off, so you don't need to remove the screws from the drive every time you need to get access to something or if you want to move the drives around. Cons: The space is a little tight, and it's hard to reach all of the MoBo screws, but it's a smaller case, so that's to be expected. The instructions are basically useless, but you can pretty much figure everything out. The PSU is in a strange spot, and you lose access to the main power switch if you have one. I'm not sure why the PSU is in a little carrier, but I'm glad they included an extension cord, and you can always unplug it from the outside, since there is no main power cutoff switch. Acrylic panel isn't as nice as glass, but it's cheaper and won't shatter. The I/O panel has a flimsy attachment to the case, so it bends a bit when you plug in a USB Overall, fit, finish, build quality and features make this a good buy at this price point.

To start here is my build: MOBO: msi b450 tomahawk max CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 with stock cooler Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 16gb ddr4 Storage: samsung evo 970 m.2 500gb GPU: Zotac GTX 1650 super PSU: corsair RMX 80+ gold 650w 6 case fans: 3 uphere rgb and 3 thermaltake So the case itself is actually very nice in my opinion. I do casual gaming and this is my first PC build. The case was pretty easy to work with and cable management was actually no problem (especially being my first time). The glass did come with a few minor scratches but it honestly doesnt bother me and if you dont have RGB you wouldn't notice (if you're very picky with cases then I guess it will bother you). The only actual complaint with the case is cooling since it's pretty compact and the dust filters are thick. The easy solution to this is just use 6 fans like I did. 3 intake, 2 on the bottom and 1 on the bottom front. 3 intake, 2 on top and 1 on the top back, and presto! Cooling is fixed. Dont let people make you think this case is awful because I honestly quite like it compared to a lot of other cases. I will agree this case probably doesnt work for high end build (1500$+) but for mid range like mine it is perfect as long as you invest in good cooling. Overall I would recommend this case. 3 stars for noise because I have my fans running hard lol so I guess that's more on me than the case.

Update... I ordered a new one, and they changed how the power supply goes to a more conventional system now. This is my first pair of PC builds since before several of you were born. The case is open yet compact. It's attractive too. I enjoy the simple utilitarian approach. The one quirk is having the power supply on the top front. This means they have a jumper power cable that runs to the rear so no I/O switch for the PS other than if you pull the cover and reach up to it. Cable management is pretty simple though and it leaves the rest of the case open. It does make the case a bit more top heavy than others, but it's shorter so that might not be a huge concern. This computer build is more utility/streaming and I'm glad I upgraded to a bigger case for my gaming unit I'm building. But I would certainly buy this one again for a basic non flashy build.

While nothing is really perfect, this modular case lets you style give you a lot of options for your PC. Small form factor case for your mATX (perfect fit) and ATX (pushing it a bit but still okay). Can accommodate long GPUs. You have the liberty to fix CPU components (PSU, Fans, I/O Panel) as you like. Cooling is a bit tricky but should be fine after a few arranging of parts which i totally love about it. I enjoyed arranging components to get where i wanted. Plenty of wire routing options which are stealthy for a cleaner install. While cooling takes a bit effort compared to mid-tower/full towers, Im sure this will accommodate more cooling parts and be way cooler than your regular small form factor ITX cases. will buy another one for a future project if needed.

Es un muy buen producto si sabes tus necesidades específicas y lo aprovechas... o puede ser pésimo si esperas algo que no ofrece. En cuanto a materiales calidad precio, me parece muy bueno por 1400 pesos mexicanos. Esta dirigido a quien quiere un gabinete de espacio reducido, con estética minimalista y elegante. Este gabinete se puede permitir un espacio reducido gracias a que está perforado por todos lados y se puede hacer un buen flujo de aire, sin embargo, se tiene que planear muy bien el acomodo de los accesorios. La gestión de cables me agrado mucho ya que tiene buen espacio en la parte posterior de la tarjeta madre y además ahí mismo van los discos duros. No lo recomiendo si no te gusta que luzca amontonado con tarjetas Full atx. Fuera de eso, a mi me encantó y me resultó muy funcional. Actualizando esta reseña, decidí cambiar el gabinete por uno mas grande por el flujo de aire y por cualquier modificación y mantenimiento, se hace muy complicado tener un espacio reducido. Además, pese a que sigo pensando que es un muy buen producto y estéticamente bonito, no lo recomendaría para un ensamble de gama alta.

These cases are fantastic to build in. I've now built 2x and I appreciate them more and more each time. Being able to fit an ATX board into a much smaller form factor is awesome. There are lots of options for smart cable routing. The perforated chassis gives adequate airflow and awesome amounts of options for mounting fans, PSU, etc. I just can't go past the flexibility of this case. And the ability to build it as a horizontal-orientated desktop build is excellent. It's just an unbeatable product, especially for the price you pay.

First pc build. Despite unconventional psu placement, was still a super easy build. Fit full atx board and still had room for 6 120mm case fans as well (including the pre-installed exhaust). The case is quite wide as well for easy cable management and the hard drive mounts are easily accessible as well. The quality of this case is very good, and the design is well thought through, especially at this price range. If you're not sure whether to buy this case, I can assure you won't be disappointed. It also looks a lot better in person. It's a lot darker and the soft gray geometric lines compliment it well.
