Gamblin Gamvar Picture Varnish - 8.5oz Bottle

I love this product. When you apply Gamblin Gamvar varnish to your artwork, it’s like unveiling the version of the piece you saw in your mind while creating it. I used this to varnish a few paintings about 1.5' x 2' in size and couldn't be more pleased with the results. I applied one initial coat - it dried quickly, and then one more coat. The paintings immediately showed much better colors and contrast, as well as being better protect. And, don't let the small sized bottle fool you - it goes a long, long way.

Gamvar is the best for a reason. It's super clean, dries crystal clear, and applies like a dream. If you are an oil painter, this is the best brand for a reason.

So far, I am very happy with this product. First, you do not need to wait months to apply it to your paintings. Second, it goes on crystal clear. Third, it is not overly shiny but has just enough sheen to even out your painting surface & add some brilliance to your colors. Since I have only just started using it, I don’t have personal experience as to how it will hold up on the canvasses, but my research into other reviews gives me confidence to expect it will be fine. Also, a little goes a long way. I have varnished 4 paintings & did not use much at all.

I had a few paintings which looked a little muddy and dull. This varnish completely rejuvenated them back to their original brilliance. Completely safe and easy to use.
