Works perfectly to clear a plate carrier
Purchased for use with a 571BL Small Paddle and QLS22 Receiver Plate to help clear a plate carrier. It works perfectly, but to get the best possible fit I had to raid my Safariland parts bin for a 0.125" T-spacer and 2 more screws of the appropriate length as the 0.25" T-spacers this kit comes with were overkill for getting the QLS22 to clear the lip on the HDA. If like me, you've got tons of extra Safariland spacers and screws lying around, you may be better off buying the just HDA without the screw/spacer kit to save a few bucks. But if you're looking to drop a Safariland pattern holster and the Mid-Ride 6070UBL isn't an option for whatever reason, this is the part you want.

There are separate RH and LH versions
Works, but if you’re already using a low ride UBL, it’s kinda floppy. Also, keep in mind there are specific kits for left and right hand draw. Left is HDA-KIT-LH. Not usually found on Amazon. But they definitely exist. If you look at the holes on the drop adapter, you will see they are tilted a bit. If you buy the wrong version, your holster is going to be tilted backwards a bit. I’m a lefty. I bought this kit thinking there was no difference. There definitely is. Once installed, my holster was tilting backwards a noticeable amount. It was then I checked Safariland’s site and saw there are kits for both right and left hand draw.As far as the sturdiness, again, if you already have the low ride universal belt loop (UBL), you know you already have a 1.5 inch drop from the mid ride UBL. Which is nice, but adding another 2 inches for a combined 3.5 inch drop made my Glock 22 holster kind of floppy. It wasn’t coming off, but it was a bit much even for me at 6 ft 4 and very long arms. It’s basically giving you a thigh rig ride height but the gun is down while seated, instead of along your leg on a thigh rig. This resulted in the holster digging into the seat of an interceptor utility, which in turn started jamming me on the hip. Not comfy at all. The thigh rig puts the holster horizontal while seated (good). This leaves vertical. My agency doesn’t allow thigh rigs for patrol. The set up described above was too floppy while walking and straight up painful and seat destroying while seated. I didn’t give up. I went back and put my mid ride UBL on my duty belt with the 2 inch kit. This resulted in 2 inch total drop (extra half inch than just the 1.5 inch UBL. This was perfect. I had a longer drop than before, plus the benefit of the cant this kit provides. Stay safe.

Allows for multiple adjustments
Kit comes with various spaces of different thicknesses so you can fine tune the holster to the exact point you want it.

Definitely worth purchasing for LEO’s
The drop adapter was easy to install; only took a few minutes. I ran the largest spacer provided in the package for my pistol sits slightly further out making the firearm easier to locate without looking at it. Sitting in vehicles after installing the kit took some getting used to however I found it more comfortable than a standard safariland holster because when seated the holster now lifts some of the weight of a duty belt off the waistline while seated.

Horrible Instructions.
Assembly instructions are absolutely horrible. The image does not match the product and they assume you know what to do with the 40 odd pieces in only three "easy" steps.

Now after Testing and use for some time.
I have been using this for about a year and half now works very well for me. Better draw stroke for someone thats is tall (6'2"). A few others that I know of have bought it after seeing mine.FYI: may help some female officers (one of the noted above purchase) She is buying second one. The draw backs of it are postioning when in patrol vehicle... seat / console and seatbelt latch can and do conflict no fault on it. The fault is in vehicle set up. Second to that the paddle that mounts to belt will and does dig in to side when in vehicle.

Great option
Worked out great for my duty holster. I recently taken a plain clothes position and wanted to carry my XDm 3.8" with a light. Finding a level 3 holster to accommodate a light and in a paddle configuration for XDm has been a pain. I really like Safariland's ALS holsters and was looking for one but Safailand does not make one with a paddle to accommodate a light for XDm. Another factor was being able to draw my gun while wearing an outer vest without interference from the outer vest. I have changed to molle outer vest and it is a little thicker with the cordura material, panel over lap and I want to add side plates.I was able to convert a level 3 duty holster (Safariland's 6360-1482-131) into a paddle holster. I was able to shim it out a little bit with the parts that come with the adapter to clear my vest with no problems.

A failure at the most fundamental level
I have a number of Safariland holsters in various configurations, and I am a big fan; however, I cannot say the same thing about their HDA drop adapter kit. The holes don’t match up to the holster. They weren’t even off by a little…. I saw another review with the same issue. That raises some concerns about their quality assurance process.
