Hi I’m no expert at all but from my experience and for the purposes that I use it for yes it is very much like the 245 cored flux. To be honest this is one of if not my favorite flux all one needs is just a tiny amount and it wets up very good. It’s a great product.

Tekline trf741 or kester or am i confused about something? kind of new to soldering hope you can clear up my confusion. thanks

Depends on what you are soldering. If it's simple point-to-point or through-hole, you probably won't need anything more than rosen-core solder (YMMV). If you're doing SMD, then a tacky flux is good.
