Review: Thus far-Impressed! - As I went online to reorder another electrolyte replacement powder that I have been using for a few years now, I came across the KEY NUTRIENTS electrolyte replacement powder. As I compared the ingredients to what I had been using before, I found out that ALL of the electrolyte, vitamins & minerals were in higher amounts AND at a much cheaper price [currently, today, 2/24/21 though, the powder I was using before did drop the price to be more comparable with the KEY NUTRIENTS however the advantage that I see is the amounts of the electrolytes, vitamins & minerals-a big advantage for me] to be still for a 90 serving container. I was also impressed with not only the electrolyte ingredients but also the "other" ingredients that go into the mix as well. It is sweetened with stevia leaf extract and spirulina (for the BLUE RASPBERRY flavor) & beet root & beta-carotene (for the CHERRY-POM) gives it the color and as much of a label reader as I am for everything, I was more than willing to give this KEY NUTRIENTS brand a try. I ordered two containers the flavors being BLUE RASPBERRY & CHERRY POM(egranate). Today, 2/24/21 I decided to mix both flavors for my bicycling ride this morning. The attached picture show the CHERRY-POM flavor (red water bottle) & the BLUE RASPBERRY flavor (tinge of blue color water bottle). Mix 1 scoop (provided) into 16 oz of liquid (the bottles in the picture are 16.9oz size but I filled them only up to the neck of the bottle & I already drank some out of each bottle for a taste test). What do I think about the taste? For the BLUE RASPBERRY: First off, I like the tinge of blue color of the powder and with my first sip I first tasted a tartness followed immediately with a sweetness and I could even recognize the flavor being "berryish" Both the tartness and the sweetness were not overwhelming but nicely balanced. Personally, if a drink were to lean one way or another, I would prefer a tartness over a sickening sweetness but like I said, my taste testing of this one was very balanced-not too tart and not too sweet with the sweetness occurring about a second or two after the initial tartness. If you prefer something with an overly sweet taste then mixing this powder with juice or flavored drink would probably suit you. I found this drink to be refreshing and definitely something that I could drink throughout the day if needed. For the CHERRY-POM flavor: a nice light cherry red color and the first thing I noticed, after the color, was the smoothness of the drink. Not gritty or anything of that nature but the best way I could describe it would be "smooth". The taste sensation is a nice sweetness followed closely with a nice cherry taste! Here again, not overly sweet but just enough so that there wasn't even a tartness on this one -not sure if there should be anyway (perhaps the pomegranate would tend to give a tartness?) But in any case it was just sweet enough for me without an excessive sweetness; and like I said, I definitely recognized the cherry taste, not overwhelming, but noticeable. I'm not sure if I was able to discern the pomegranate component but definitely the cherry. Perhaps somebody else may be able to distinguish the pomegranate more than me. Now, the BLUE RASPBERRY has 6 electrolytes and 11 vitamins & minerals. The CHERRY-POM has 6 electrolytes and 12 vitamins and minerals. The extra vitamin is the Riboflavin that the BLUE RASPBERRY doesn't have, for whatever reason I don't know but shouldn't really make a difference that it doesn't have it. In conclusion, I'm very impressed thus far with the look, how easy it is too mix [note: about 40 minutes after mixing and refrigerating, I wanted to take a look at the mixture. I looked at both water bottles, as what is in the picture, and I noticed very fine, I guess one could say, granules, floating around as I swirled the bottles. It doesn't affect the "smoothness" of the drink and it still doesn't give it a "grainy" taste but I would suspect that something that has upwards of 20 different ingredients that perhaps a vitamin or mineral or one that is chelated? There are two ingredients that are chelated, selenium & chromium. My guess is , that perhaps a chelation might not necessarily go completely in solution or one of the other vitamins or minerals that may not be so absorbable in the mix but will breakdown better once it's in the body? In any case, I am not concerned about it as I've reviewed every ingredient and approve of the ingredients that are in these powders.] Now the test of actually drinking them during my ride. I suspect that they will do what they are supposed to be doing because of the higher amounts than my previous powder brand had. I could think it would only be better. If I notice a significant change as far as energy level and other measurable changes in my workout as compared to my former brand of powder then I will edit this review. But for now, I'm very impressed and happy to have found this brand of electrolyte replacement powder!
Review: I like it - I follow the carnivore diet pretty strict. The only thing I break it with is chewing gum, herbal or chai tea, and my electrolytes. I've used gelatin with my beef for awhile now. I find it makes the beef taste better and helps provide one heck of a delicious broth or demiglaze. I read several reviews of this claiming to put it into coffee instead of cream. While I hate coffee, I do enjoy a nice chai or hot cacao in the cooler months, so I thought I'd give it a try. I really like the mouth feel it provides and as long as I get my water temperature correct, I don't notice a flavor. I poured boiling water onto it once and I don't recommend that. It tasted scalded. I have terrible connective tissues, so anything that might help me there is worth trying. I know the science is still a question mark, but there's a lot of anecdotal and I have to admit that mine seem better when I'm drinking or eating it. Since it contains more types and sources, this blend has my vote. Now I'd also like to comment on the makers of the product. I originally tried their orange electrolytes. With the company being vet owned, my vet self liked being able to give their products a try. Unfortunately, the product just didn't work for me. I had a sensitivity to something in it. The person I reached out to for their guarantee not only gave me a full refund and told me to pass the product on to someone else or throw it away, but also gave me a discount code with the invitation to try something else in the line. Pretty cool, huh? She provided one of the best customer service experiences I've had from an electrolytes or keto/carnivore, or supplement provider. For that alone, I had to try another product. This is what I chose, and I'm very glad I did. It's a five star review from me. Tonight I sprinkled it on top of a pound of seared roast tips. It blended with the natural juices, the melted fat, and the slab of butter I added to the finished tips. Talk about a tasty richness and deliciously emoliant mouth feel. The roast tips were scrumptious before adding the powder, the addition of it turned them interstellar. This willbe a new staple in my pantry, and I can thank their spectacular customer service for the addition.

**Q: Wha ingredient gives it the lime green color? Has anyone else noticed an artificial taste and aftertaste?**
A: We use NO artificial colors or flavors in any of our products. Our Lemonade flavored Electrolyte Powder is colored by the Vitamin B2, which is naturally yellow/neon-ish in color.

**Q: this or Genius Electrolytes?**
A: neither - actual fruit has way more electrolytes, as well as actual energy because it has calories in it from the natural sugar. This product is a glorified multivitamin, with the 'glorification' being caffeine. The bcaa's can be acquired from eating food that has protein, and yet again actual energy in the form of calories.

**Q: Is this returnable after it’s opened?  I really don’t care for the flavor.**
A: I just spoke with their customer care person Sharon to find out about something else and good news. She told me any of these are returnable if you don't like them for any reason. They're a small business and you can tell they work hard to please.

PS I called because I really like 3 of the flavors and wondered if they offer a quantity discount. Turns out they offer all customers one-time 20% off on one order. She said the shelf life unopened is 2 years so I'm buying 12 of them in my favorite flavors!

**Q: how is it?Does it work well?**
A: It has a pleasant lemon taste, just the right amount of sweetness, so I'm not puckering from to much lemon. It works great for me  no problems with late night leg cramps you know the type that wake you out of a dead sleep. I am able to enjoy my exercise class as I have no fear of cramping during work out . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Formula change. Not improved

I’ve been using Key Nutrients Blue Raspberry electrolytes for about five years and have always loved it — clean taste, not too sweet, great for hydration. However, the newest container (the one with the red raspberries on the label) tastes noticeably different. It’s much sweeter and has more of a chemical/artificial flavor compared to the previous formula. Still effective, but definitely not the same taste profile as the older version. If you’ve been a long-time user, be aware the flavor has changed. This is a subscribe and save for me. New formula has the red raspberries graphic.
