Piano Solos Book 1 - Book with Online Audio and MIDI Access: Hal Leonard Student Piano Library

I've used this method with piano students for years. There are a lot of really good pieces in this book and my students have really enjoyed them, for the most part. There are a few duds. But, I have yet to find a dud-free book from any piano method. I've enjoyed having students work with CDs because it "forces" them to comply with a steady tempo. I also have the midi files and it's really useful to be able to have the students play the song at any tempo or to gradually increase the tempo a "tick at a time" during a lesson. For students who just won't work with a metronome alone, they often find success with the CD. However, I secretly wish Hal Leonard had an additional, even slower tempo for each song. The practice tempo is, quite often, too fast. I just record a slower tempo for them using the midi file. But I realize this isn't an option for everyone and it's too time-consuming a a typical half-hour lesson. (I teach 45-min lessons)

Just what I was looking for. Easy songs for the kids to play, along with their regularly assigned songs in the Piano Lessons Book. They needed extra songs at the same level as the lesson book, to practice each new element more and get to know it well, before moving onto the next new element.

My son is new to piano and is easily frustrated. This set of piano books along with a good teacher got him off to a great start. They moved slowly and the pacing was very manageable. The CD accompaniment is also good, and easy to use.

My 6 yr. old son uses this book for piano lessons as they were recommended by his instructor. So far so good!

My daughter just started piano lessons and this is the book the teacher requested. My daughter loves the songs and the pictures.

The item description says Book/CD pack but it comes without CD.
