I bought the first one in 2010 and loved it. Bright enough and very magnified. Last week it stopped working. One of the issues I had was the door to the battery holder doesn't click tight and eventually I had to tape it with duct tape. But the mirror last me 10 years which is good enough for me. I loved it enough to repurchase again (newer model). With the second purchase, the screw holes are better placed. The one purchased in 2010 had a the holes at 10, 2 and 6 and I couldn't get to the one at 10 because the medicine cabinet was in the way. The new one is more like 11, 1 and 6 so I can reach all 3 screw holes. The battery door hasn't been updated, still a little flimsy and doesn't quite click tightly. But I'm willing compromise on that since I love everything else about this lighted and magnified mirror.

I ordered this mirror for my teenage daughter after looking at several other local well-known stores and being disappointed at their selection and prices. Amazon had exactly what I was looking for, and at a lower price than the local shops. It was a very quick delivery - two days and well packaged! I installed the mirror myself, very easy to do. Having the adapter is a plus until we purchase the C batteries. The lighting is better than overhead lighting for putting on make-up and both sides of the mirror are excellent for those up close and personal applications. It can be pulled out and adjusted and then pushed back flush against the wall. I installed a little shelf right beneath of the same color it and it looks very elegant and classy (like the kind you find in very posh hotel rooms)! I would recommend this to anyone needing a lighted make-up mirror that does not take up space and gets five stars for functionability, durability, ease of use, and quality material (no plastic involved).

I have purchased this item 4 times for two different bathrooms. I like the mirror and functionality but every mirror has had an issue. I keep buying them hoping 'it is just THIS mirror'. When it works it works but then it doesn't. I won't be buying another one. I have asked the company for help a couple times with the last two but they won't answer me. The light on the first and second one would short out everytime I turned it from the magnifying mirror. The third ones's on/off dial doesn't turn on the mirror. The fourth one has a screw that holds it on the pedestal but it fell inside the mirror. There is no way to open the mirror without breaking it to get it out or fix it, so now the mirror is hanging from one screw. Terrible customer service. If the product works it is really nice. But they cost too much money to be so crappy.

Pluses: 1) 10X magnification works great for detailed makeup work, my wife previously tried a 5X that wasn't strong enough, 2) mirror is free of distortion, others we've tried have been wavy, 3) bright, white light: better than another model we tried, 4) possibility of operating without a cord, 5) excellent cosmetics, matches our other bathroom fixtures. Negatives: 1) cordless requires 4 C batteries (not included) that are concealed inside the base. Changing the batteries requires removing 3 screws from the base and taking the unit off the wall to get at the battery compartment inside. 2) if you skip the batteries the power supply is a cheap black low-voltage transformer like the kind you get for small electronic devices and the cosmetics are much worse than the mirror, kind of wrecks the classy appearance. I gave it five stars because we will use it only in battery mode and I don't mind removing the unit once a year as long as we get the claimed one-year life for batteries! I may be back to change this rating if the batteries burn out faster. Note: 10X magnification on any mirror means your viewing distance is just a few inches from the mirror surface. Just enough room for a pair of eyeglasses if you are farsighted and for your fingers to do whatever they are going to do. If you only use the mirror for inspection rather than maintenance then clearance will never be an issue.

We had a terrible time with the first one because it had a short in it and wouldn't stay on. Every time you turned the mirror to a better angle, it went off and there was no way to fix it. After much correspondence with both Amazon and the seller, they sent us a new one and it works and I like it. But it took months to get it replaced. The old one went in the trash. We thank them for replacing it because we just figured we were out the money. They'd say they were replacing it and then nothing. Persevere! They get 4 stars because of the aggravation. And I quit ordering so much from Amazon because of it.

I previously owned a mirror that cost 3 times as much as this one. It was hard wired in my house so I left it when I moved. When I moved into a new place and found this mirror online, I figured what did I have to lose for $100+ so I ordered it . This mirror has been every bit as good as the one that I owned previously for a fraction of the price. It looks good, has held up and has functioned beautifully. My only complaint is that you can't change the bulb. It finally burned out (and I was way past a warranty). My husband wrote to the company to ask if we could send it back for repair. They said "yes" (which I was shocked about), we packed it up and sent it back. It's only been about a week and today a brand new mirror in the box arrived. Seriously? Who offers this type of service today? I am so happy! If you are considering this as a purchase don't hesitate...you will not be disappointed!

I really like this mirror. I did a lot of research before buying and it paid off in several ways. The mirror is well made and the dual-power option is nice. I run mine on batteries since it's not an everyday use item and just for "getting that thing out of your eye" situations. But, there is no reason to believe it will be chewing up batteries since it uses C cells which have nearly 7 times the capacity of AAA, and that's what most high intensity flashlight run on... which draw much more current. The light is plenty bright and you can even use the mirror in complete darkness because of it. I'm not recommending that... just pointing it out. :-) The magnification is just right. If you're hung up on what magnification to get, then 10x is just right for "truth telling." There was a slight problem with the mirror that I received and Shower Door Direct handled it very quickly and resolved the problem in less than a day. This was at their expense and they didn't blink an eye! Excellent company. You can tell the quality of the company just by how they package the items for shipping. They want to make sure it arrives in one piece no matter how brutal the carriers are with it. I just don't have anything bad to say about the product or the company. That's unusual, even if it shouldn't be.

I do LOVE having a wall mounted magnifying mirror. I have had people tell me my makeup looks great since I've gotten it. However there are a few things that would make this mirror better. This was the 5th mirror I had ordered, all the others arrived broken. The first mirror was just a regular light not the LED. I kept reading that people didn't think it was bright enough... and it wasn't very bright. So when I returned it, I decided to replace it with the LED. Well, This is BRIGHT... too bright! I can't use the light early in the morning or at night when there is little to no sun light coming in the window. It hurts my eyes!! Another thing I would change is 10X is to much. Plus the magnified side is contoured.. which I hate. Between the contour and the 10x if you are not exactly 4 inches from the mirror it looks like you are looking in a fun house mirror. And 4 inches isn't enough room to use my makeup brushes. If you are thinking about getting a wall hanging mirror.. do it! But know this one is good but not perfect.

Great mirror. Sturdy, nice finish, has an AC adapter so I don't bother with batteries. The mirror is a nice large size so I can see all of my face. The led offers good lighting. Very happy with this purchase.

I looked at a lot of magnifying mirrors for a recent reno of two bathrooms. I bought one of these and then loved it so much that I bought a second for the other bathroom. I like the 10X magnifying side for makeup and the other normal side allows me to slant it to do the side and/or back of my hair in the main mirror. I also like the fact that it does not need a cord hanging down/plugged in. I put in the batteries before installation, and then charged the light using the provided adapter. I can now use the charger whenever it needs a new charge. It is very well made, solid and the appearance is very high quality. I am very satisfied!
