I picked up the SpeTool Tapered Ball Nose Spiral Router Bit (1.0mm tip / 0.5mm radius) for detailed carving work, and it performed beautifully. Cut Quality & Precision: This bit is excellent for fine detail work. The small tip allows for very clean, controlled cuts, making it ideal for intricate designs. I used it to carve a detailed log cabin into wood, and the results were crisp with smooth transitions and minimal fuzzing. Control & Stability: The tapered design really helps with rigidity. Even at small diameters, the bit feels stable and predictable, which makes it much easier to work confidently on delicate features like grooves, corners, and texture lines. Broke my original. 1/4” drive and worked liked a champ. Clean cuts and does what I need it to. Price wasn’t to bad for the item.

I have been ordering this same size bit from another seller here on Amazon, and the difference is night and day. The bits from the other seller here lately are delivered already dull and I suspect those are used bits. The reason I state this is because there is absolutely no way those bits can be new, especially when compared to way the SpeTool bit cuts, I am currently using my CNC machine carving my 4th piece with the SpeTool Tapered Ball Nose End Mill and it is still super sharp. The other sellers bits are cutting for me like the ones I replace when they are dull, all kinds of wood "fuzzies" ay the edges of cuts. With this bit for SpeTool I am not getting any of those "fuzzies" even on my 4th carve, so I highly recommend this bit.

At first I was skeptical getting this bit, but as they were highly recommended thought it would be worth a go. I've been using it for Corain carving and 3d models in hard wood. WOW! Over 60 hours on it and still as sharp as the day it were new. They cut so clean that clean up of fuzzies is a thing of the past. My new go to tool bits!!
