Apple TV Mount (Old Design: not Compatible with New Apple TVs)

Great hold on the Apple TV and I love how you can just tuck it away when wanted but I would not recommend mounting this on top of your TV. I wanted it out of my children's reach so I mounted on the top part of my tv just reverse of how it is in the picture. I came home from work sat down and tried to turn on my Apple Tv but it would power on I went to check it and noticed it was laying on the ground behind my tv stand more than 3 feet from where it was mounted. So far it still works but I hope it doesn't have issues in the future. The adhesive that they give you is terrible and will not hold the weight of the Apple TV and mount. I replaced the adhesive with some strong Velcro which makes it removable now anyways incase I want to take it on trips. I think in future shipments they should just include some Velcro.Thanks

We have five conference rooms equipped with five different wall-mounted TV monitors. We are piloting Apple TV in two of them, so I was shopping for a mounting bracket that would be functional without disturbing the clean aesthetics of the display. I didn't want to buy a mount that required drilling holes into the walls, just in case we decided against converting fully to Apple TV.The least expensive mount at Staples was $39.95, so I expected to pay at least that amount. I was skeptical when I saw this much more versatile, much less expensive mount on Amazon but I crossed my fingers and ordered one.We could not have been more pleased. Apple TV weighs practically nothing, so the "sticky tape" provided with the mount is sufficient. No holes or screws necessary! The bracket is designed well, so the Apple TV unit slides right in to it; it remains secured, and we found we really can mount it in many different positions to suit our configuration.When we expanded our Apple TV pilot to a second conference room, we purchased another bracket, again with perfect results, for about half what we expected to pay. How often does THAT happen?

When I mounted my 55" TV I used a low profile mount (2.2") the APPLETV mounting shelf along with the cables of the Apple TV was too wide to work. The cables were the biggest issue. They protrude from the Apple TV and even with the mount extend all the way out it did not fit. If I had an L-type connecter for the HDMI connecter it would work but the power connecter would also need one, which I don't think is available. The TV was just too close to the wall for the mount to work. It is still a good solution otherwise.

I needed this for a clean install in a conference room in a office setting, I mounted to the tv, looked nice enough and worked easily. The only issue though, is the adhesive backing failed after about a month. It will no longer stick to the tv and lost its sticking power, I will probably have to scrape the adhesive tape off and get stronger 3m "5lb" adhesive double tape.

I ordered this to move the apple TV but eventually instead of being under the TV connected, it just sites on the table under the TV. So I guess this would be a cool product for people that just have the TV on a wall swivel and have no place to set the apple TV box on a cabinet like myself.. Good product but for me, it was unneeded

This is a well-made accessory that holds my Apple TV device securely. Unfortunately, the holder (and Apple TV) fell off of the back of my Sony TV where it was mounted. The sticky tape will need to be upgraded with the 3M red tape (designed for outdoor use), then back onto the Sony TV it goes.

I like the mount itself, but the adhesive was not strong enough to hold for very long. I am currently using some command strips to keep it attached to my TV after having it fall off twice. If you don't mind getting an additional adhesive, it's a great purchase

First, I would like to echo all the other reviews critical of the adhesive. Mine lasted almost exactly two weeks before it spontaneously fell off.Second, the shape of the back of my TV dictated that I install the mounting shelf horizontally. Even before it fell off, the mounting shelf was almost always crooked when in this configuration and was difficult to swing out or push back behind the TV.If you use your own adhesive and if you can install the mounting shelf vertically (as pictured), then the shelf may be of utility to you.
