This book is excellent; once I started reading it, I could not put it down. Ironically, the diabolical men and women of LT's life raised a thoughtful, intellegent young man who chose to make unbelievably difficult choices with little support. I felt that LT shed a lot of light into the history of the Pagans and 1% biker gangs in general. The Saint, who brings his own story to the novel, attempts to protect LT from the gang while holding true to the original "codes" of the group. Since the story is told in 1st person, the reader is introduced to the notorius men and women of the novel through the eyes of an insider. One is forced to empathize with the characters that are so easy to hate because of LTs admiration and sympathy for them. This book is ideal for those who are looking to learn the true story about the Pagans from someone who survived their violence and distruction. The unique text-structure that the author employs veers away from the traditional sequential order and tells a tale through memories - stories remembered in a tragically, significant order. This is a must read. Buy this book!

Good book! Well written, pulls you in, describes what life was like being raise by outlaw bikers

very good book! It’s crazy incredible what people go through in life. And what they have to deal with. I highly recommend this book.

I couldn’t get through it. Not saying the writing was bad, it was just too sad. He had a really horrible upbringing. When he said he was basically raping little girls at 8 years old, I had to put the book down.

This book is a must read, it was very well written. It provides a look into the dark 1percenter world, that is all to often glorified in TV shows and movies. It tells the truth about the violence and betrayal inside the club. If you believe this book does not give you a look inside the 1% world, in my opinion you are sadly mistaken. But I don't think LT was nessisarily trying to give you an inside story he was telling his story. To say that he just had a hard upbringing is a gross under statement. The story of his bittersweet relationship with the club members who raised him and the dangerous way they loved him is all to real. Being some one has also known this world though not as closely as LT I think he gives the harsh truth about gang life styles. I give him the utmost respect after reading this for the simple fact that he had the courage to walk away and live to tell us about the harsh reality that was his life.

Let me start by saying, I have a severe case of adult ADHD so reading can be quite difficult for me a majority of the time, especially when it comes to an entire novel. However, this book pulls you in from the very beginning! I needed to put it down and get the tissues as I was sobbing like a baby and I was only 67 pages in!? I recommend this book not only to fans of biker novels or gang related criteria but to everyone!! It really is a true however dark it may have been, look into the life of a young boy who grew up to be a wonderful young man and somehow managed to not become a statistic along the journey!! Great read!! Order it now!! =)

I haven't finished reading it yet but feel compelled to write a review because the book is very hard to read. I just hit part 2 of the book and am finding it very difficult to follow as it is all over the place and does not back up the story with a solid timeline that indicates when certain things occured within his life - it is juming all over the place. The other thing I noticed was that the writing was very detailed and graphic, which goes some way to perhaps embellishing the truth and lends itself more to fiction than fact. I think the Author/s are trying to write too good a book in the descriptive sense and I have totally lost the point of the story. I will finish the book but after 186 pages out of 282 pages my interst has really dropped right off and I can't see it getting much better. The story sounded promising from the synopsis but after getting into the book a little bit, I seriously do not recommend this book, it is not an enjoyable read.

While I feel for "LT" as he obviously had a rough life, this book has little to do with the Pagans. In fact, LT NEVER rides a motorcycle in this book. If you want to read a book about how crappy this guy's life was and all the violence he claims he did did as a Pagan "prospect," read this. If you want a book that talks about "the life," like Sonny Barger's or even Hunter S. Thompson's, this is not it. He claims to commit all this violence in the name of getting even with the Pagans who became Hell's Angels, but I believe little of what he writes. He is just trying to get people to feel sorry for him and how he is a marked man. What is even better is that he doesn't even try to redeem himself. He stopped using, and goes to a gym. That's it. No big turn a round in his life. As far as we know, he still makes his living through crime. The writing is peppered with descriptions that do not fit a "tough biker" and constantly has statements like, "He pick up the knife again," but no where does it say he picked up a knife in the first place. Save your money on this book. If I could have given it negative stars, I would. I would not even take this book out of the library, it is that bad.

Another 'poor me' victim cashing in on his 'poor me' life. Trys to talk tough throughout but it's obvious he is just 'riding' on the toughness of others, when he himself quite obviously couldn't cut it (he never even wore a patch, yet he talks the talk like he was a member). To me, having been a patched member, and sergeant-at-arms, I found his story bull. Maybe to impress middle-aged ladies. Disappointed
