TI-1706 SV Standard Function Calculator

Perfect for my needs and replacing an earlier version of this solar powered calculator I'd had since 1993 that finally died (a few of the screen pixels no longer worked, making it impossible to tell the difference between '7', '1', '3'). Great to have handy on my desk and when I travel for work.

I really like this calculator and have used it daily for years (purchased around 2006). If I took it out of my desk drawer and it was dark in my office, I turned on my desk lamp and held the calculator and it powered immediately. It even powers when held against those pathetically weak energy efficient light bulbs. My cat loves to jump on my desk when I am working (which is daily) and knocked this calculator to my hard tile floors more times than I can count over the years mostly without the protective blue cover on it. Today, I accidentally knocked it the ground again and while the calculator lit up, the buttons would not respond so I sadly went looking for another calculator. Low and behold, as I settled on another calculator after much research) this model came back to life. It works fine. This is one tough calculator and I just purchased another one to use while grocery shopping to compare price per unit (Larger sized items are not always cheaper) I buy EVERY SINGLE THING BUT GROCERIES ON-LINE so I am constantly researching anything I want to buy from soap to cars (keeping like items (example bicycles) on an excel spreadsheet separating individual bicycle models by a black line and putting related items bike horns, bike baskets, etc on different sheets on the same bike excel spreadsheet) and once I settle on what I want to buy i use THIS CALCULATOR to figure out the BEST PRICE(adding S/H and tax plus base price and subtracting any savingswatch dot com ebates dot com or coupon savings and then figure out TOTAL COST PER ITEM and buy the best price. This calculator gets a serious work out. LOL now I have a calculator research spreadsheet and I didn't need it. Also, buy Purina Friskies Party Mix Original Crunch, 6-Ounce (Pack of 7) on Amazon using the auto ship (pick anywhere from sending every month to every 3 months or longer). Purina Friskies Party Mix Original Crunch, 6-Ounce (Pack of 7) are MUCH cheaper buying this way online than buying in a grocery store. PROs 1. Blue case to protect it when stored in desk. The hard plastic blue front case cover easily attaches to the back of the calculator when using the calculator so the cover cannot get loat. not The cover stays in place also. The blue case cover is narrower than the white calculator so it doesn't make it wider when holder the calculator in your hands. 2. TOUGH 3. Going strong after YEARS of daily use 4. Keep my grocery buy list inside the cover. (I write small and use both sides of paper and use 4 pieces of paper) I NEVER lose my lists now. 5. The cover keeps the calculator safe in my purse and it the buttons are not so small that I hit the wrong ones while quickly doing calculations in a rushed grocery store isle. 6. NEVER have to worry about buying batteries Pro or Con Depending on What Someone Needs in a Calculator. 1. Not for anything but basic math functions but is fine for my needs. January 2020 - It finally died. The number 2 and number 5 no longer work. It died a very old age. (My calculator has blue division/multiply, subtract, add and equal signs. This was the original review I gave so I just updated it.

Pros: I wanted a simple solar calculator and that’s exactly what I got! The side contours make it very comfortable when holding and the keys are a good size and responsive. Cons: it’s a little too big for me to be able to hold and use in the same hand, which was what I was hoping for. Also, I spent a little more purchasing from this seller because I thought I was buying the purple calculator but got the blue one instead.

Simple calculator that works well without all the bells and whistles. Perfect for classes that don't allow graphing calculators.

Easy to read and easy to use for a hand held . love the color . when I was shopping a woman came up to me and asked where she could buy one . I explained how and moved on . Fits my hand perfectly and the color change in buttons makes it easy to use . The removable back plate is handy and keeps it from damage and scratches . well worth the money and I would recommend to any one to purchase this calculator

The calculator is fine and works great. I gave it 4 stars because the picture from amazon.com is clearly purple and said it was purple but when it came it's blue. I could have gotten a blue one cheaper by 2 or 3 dollars at my local store. I chose thus one because my daughter wanted purple. I am keeping it as she needs it next week.

Specifically ordered this becuase it was purple and when it arrived it was blue. I know that seems petty but thats my beef.
