These are very fresh and full of oil. I buy them to grind fresh when I make chili powder. The taste is amazing, no hint of dryness or rancid or old. Nothing at all like the normal pre-ground cumin powder. I use only a little at a time, and the seeds have retained their freshness. I will buy again, no question.

Nice Fresh Cumin Delivered Promptly.
My favorite Indian spice store went out of business and the nearest one is now a 20 minute drive from home which is a long way to go for some cumin. Grocery store spices are usually old when purchased and outrageously expensive if you go through cumin like we do (both Mexican and Indian cuisine use a lot of cumen).I dont like to buy a kilo of this stuff at a time because it takes too long to use that much and it looses some of its punch before its gone.This product arrived promptly and was very fresh.The quality has inspired me to see what else this vendor might offer for my Indian cooking efforts. The name of the game is choosing a spice vendor is "turnover". The outfit that moves a lot of spices will have the fresher products.

I mostly grind the cumin seeds in my coffee grinder. I use about 2 ounces at a time to maintain the fresh flavor.

Yes!
This cumin seed is SO MUCH BETTER than the expensive brand in the store. That stuff tastes like bitter dust. But this is a whole other thing. This cumin seed adds flavor and is not bitter (well except for the slight bitterness it is supposed to have.) In cooking, quality herbs and spices are imperative. I highly recommend these. I threw out the stuff from the store.
