As long as you have a little bit of knowledge of computer and wiring diagrams this is a breeze

My son has loved this in his car. He can start his car from the school, totally out of site, and it starts every time. He also likes the audible notification that the car has started, instead of only a blinking light. That audible sound is LOUD. We can easily hear it throughout our house. He said everyone looks at him funny at school when his pocket is loudly beeping. :-DGreat product. Worth every penny.

Works perfect but keep in mind this product is not meant to be sold to consumers. I called the iDatalink support number with a question about the wiring diagram for my car and they informed me that these units are only supposed to be sold to installers and they do not offer support for consumers who buy from 3rd party sellers. Thankfully he was able to answer my question, but be warned as they may not do the same for you. Make sure you check out wiring diagrams from their site before you buy and check out the wiring in your car and make sure you know what your doing before buying this.

Exactly what I need.

This item can be programmed to either control Doorlock functions or bypass a transponder (engine immobilizer system) with a remote start unit. I used it for the transponder bypass function, and discovered that the install process is somewhat difficult to figure out. It must be connected to a computer and flashed with firmware from the internet, then installed in the vehicle, then you must follow a process to teach it the car's transponder signal, then it must be uninstalled (the entire remote start unit, with the blade plugged into it), and connected to the computer a second time to flash the 2nd part of the firmware process. After that it can finally be installed in the car to bypass the transponder. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it doesn't tell you you also need to purchase as $50 cable to connect it to your computer. Let the shop install this thing if you want to save yourself a headache!!

Installed in my 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV with Compustar 7900as. Pretty straightforward if you know your way around vehicle electronics. Must be flashed to your vehicle using separate weblink cable and the weblink desktop app from Idatalink. This module saves you some extra wiring on newer vehicles because it communicates via data bus.

i used this blade with the compustart 920s works really good . you will need the ads - usb cable to be able to flash the card .will need to download a sofware and install on your windows laptop . read the instructions online its very easy. works really good
