I started using this with my first batch of mead and wine. Much easier than trying to fiddle with a hose and siphoning like you would a gas tank to bottle. With the bottling wand, no mess, no spills, and no struggle.

I originally got a wine kit which came with a racking cane but upon further thought decided upon getting a siphon because it looked easier to use and would be less of a hassle. I was correct in my assumption. Easy to put together, just slide what I would call the male piece into the female one and you are ready to go. Sanitizing it is a must but it's easy as 1 2 3. I am using it for a gallon at a time and it's a perfect size for it. The clip is convenient and works perfectly. Once you start the pumping action your liquid perfectly begins the siphon. It does most all the work for you, maybe needing to pump a few more times at the end. I would recommend it. I will edit later with a video when I use it again.

I am not so sure that there is a fool proof way of cleaning or using this siphon. I found it to be convenient and great to use. I like the product overall. A few things could change and I would like it better. I find myself having to pinch the tubing when filling my bottles. It would be excellent and better functioning if there was a built-in handle to clamp off the tubing when siphoning. I am not sure what the ideal way of cleaning this is. I hope that it did not get mold in it! While rinsing it with water is not hard, I found it near impossible to dry. The size and value for money are okay.I plan to use mine again if possible. I do not know if I can speak to the durability of the product. Time will tell. It is 5/5 if it were not difficult to clamp and clean.

Wish I had found a longer one for a six gallon gas storage tank.Fitting the clear hose over the plastic tube took some boiling water, but it went on .Pumping and siphon work fine, even if the parts seem loose.just get one long enough to reach the tank bottom.

We make our own wine, and this is a game changer for bottling your wine. Allows you to get the most liquid out with none of the solids. Worth every penny.

I use this to rack my mead getting the liquid out and the fruit to stay in. It works great draining the liquid quickly and leave out all the small particles of fruit. Just as advertised.

If you are into homebrewing and don't have one of these, you definitely should change that. Auto siphons have made racking and bottling so much fun and you won't have to suck start or do the water trick anymore
