Klipsch RB-51 II Bookshelf Speaker Pair in Black with 5.25-inch woofers and 1-inch LTS Tweeter

Ok. if you are one to spend thousands on your stereo equipment, you obviously wouldn't have shopped for these anyway, but would have been looking at the Palladium line. i am no longer single, and must contend with a wife who sees no point in . . . well, that is not relevent anyway! these speakers are a dream. my set up is a yamaha a700 aventage receiver, with a klipsch 500 home theater system. and those speakers are great, don't get me wrong (incredible sound in a TINY package). but i wanted a little . . . more. i struggled with whether to get the 41s, or maybe splurge up to the 61s. but i am very happy (and i believe smart) with the rb 51 ii speakers. they add . . . oomph, but don't detract from the satellites of the 500 system. in fact they prove the perfect blend, from the 8" subwoofer cone to the 5 1/4" 51's cone to the 2 1/2" satellites. then the 51's 1" tractrix horn and the satellites 3/4" tweeters blend amazingly. you will just not believe the sound these small but heavy speakers make. music is just amazing. i put on Rush's Moving Pictures to test out the dynamics (loud - soft, synth - guitar, drum breaks, etc.) and even my wife had to admit it was just . . . amazing. can i say it enough??? the yamaha has its patented pure direct switch which actually allowed me to listen to just the 51s and i was even more impressed with the sound they put out. we then watched Star Trek, for the special effects, and the explosions rocked us, scared us a little, even! my living room, i suppose, would be medium-bordering-on-large (about 20x25') so if you have a truly large room, then perhaps the 61 ii or 81 ii would be money well spent. or just go with the 1300.00 51 home theater system and just be done with it . . . it would be money well spent. but goodness, considering i was adding to an already bought system (the 51s became my main l/r speakers, and the satellites allowed me to upgrade to 7.1 sound) i am just so very grateful to the techs at klipsch. i realize i sound like a paid advertisement. but i'm not. my system finally sounds how i've always envisioned it sounding. it is, without a doubt, the best 421.32 i have ever spent.

It was tough buying speakers during COVID- can't go anywhere to test them out, just have to read reviews and make sure there is a return policy in place. I purchased 3 speakers before I settled on this one. The first was the Polk T15- was not impressed. Too bright with little substance. The second was the Andrew Jones Pioneer speaker- I liked these and almost kept them, I probably could've been happy with them if I did. I just wanted a little more bass and something that sounded a little better on the high end. It had a great balanced sound but the high end was a little muted for my taste and it needed a sub. The third I tried was the Elac Debut 2.0 6.2. I expected these to be the best thing since sliced bread but honestly I wasn't that impressed. They had a nice full sound, and even made me think the Pioneers sounded tinny after listening to them, but in the end they are nowhere near worth the asking price and I ended up returning them preferring the Pioneers in the end. All of the speakers needed a sub to sound good. Then I gave these a try... The clarity on these is exceptional. With the right audio track you will be very impressed. I do a lot of quieter listening and the titanium horn speakers are excellent at sounding good at lower volumes. I'm not throwing ragers every night so I don't need to shake the foundation. I prefer a bright sound but also appreciate the full range of the bass to be included. The frequency on these don't go as low as I would have preferred (on paper anyway) but the bass really is strong where it's at. If you have a good amplifier you will most likely be happy with the bass after the proper break in period. To specifically answer the question everyone asks- how's the bass? I will answer specifically. I find the bass to be very good on these. I remember thinking I needed a sub with the first four speakers I purchased and when I had these hooked up with a sub I thought there was WAY too much bass. I kept turning the sub down to the point it was basically off and subsequently I just returned the sub. If you have a good receiver with bass controls and are a casual listener, I think you will be more than happy with the bass output from these speakers. If you have a smaller living room or den area and need some speakers I would not hesitate to buy these again. I bought these for $199 on an Amazon Warehouse Like New listing and think it was worth it. If you are deadset on having a sub while on a budget and don't like the "Klipsch horn sound", The Andrew Jones Pioneer are a solid choice as they are well under $100.

Got these for my small leaving room hybrid entertainment center. I drive them with a vintage Sony TA-AX401 amp that I had since the 80s. Sound source is Tascam 202MKVII tape machine or digital input from Apple TV / Chromecast. With this amp, and for this size room these speakers do awesome job. Thought of getting a sub. But now that I hear them... actually I'll pass on that. No need for a sub with DBFB Dynamic Bass feature on this amp. A sub would only annoy my neighbors downstairs. (But if you have no neighbors downstairs, and want a lot of lows throbbing in your spine - get a sub 🤓) Overall I like the sound of these. Not a full-on audiophile setup, but sounds very, very good for an average analog loving Joe. Sound is different when you take the covers off. (and they look cool without the covers). Covers are on magnets. Easy on easy off. The connectors on the back a for naked audio wire. Very nicely made. They are heavy and do not rattle, and can be driven loud. But not loud enough to attract the curiosity of the sheriff in the neighboring county. I can't vouch for your local sheriff though. The only complaint, is that the box had too much marketing advertising about what is in the box. I really do not like that. Nobodies business what is in the mail, and no need to tell the thieves what to steal from the mail room first.

I gave the same review for all of the Klipsch components for my home theater system (because they're all really great in my opinion): My first experience with Klipsch products but I've always wanted to give them a try. In the past two months I've created a modest home theater setup, consisting of: Toshiba 60" Smart TV Tivo Bolt Yamaha RX-V679 AVR RC 42-II center speaker Two sets of these RB 51-II as front left and right speakers RS 42 II surrounds R14-M "presence" speakers R12-SW Subwoofer So these are my rear surrounds and sound great in my room, which is about 13 x 18. Crisp, very responsive and clean. I know some might consider them to be a bit on the harsh side but I like their brightness. I had a Bose Lifestyle system for several years and it was okay but kind of muddy at higher volumes. These speakers reproduce sound across their range with precision and, as I said, a very clean sound. They have a great mid and bass response to the lower limit of their frequency response but if you want thumping, pounding bass you'll still need to augment them with something. I got the 12" sub for my system. I was surprised at the details of the sounds they reproduce, not only on more complex jazz and classical stuff, but also on lots of the dubstep and electronic music this 60-year old guy likes. :-) One of my goals was to also have pretty good audio capability and this system is nice for that (not audiophile quality but still quite good). I have several hundred CDs that I ripped to FLAC and put on an external drive and my PC is running a DLNA server. Sound quality is amazingly good and well beyond what I had expected with these speakers. They can also be unforgiving with poor quality source media so bear that in mind. Over the years I've owned lots of equipment, dating back to my first amp, a Fisher tube amp from the early 60s, some Marantz, Crown, and a bunch of other stuff. I'd say these speakers will serve me well for some time to come.

Speakers are what I've come to expect from Klipsch and the sound is great for my computer desktop setup. This is my 3rd set of Klipsch and the only reinforce my love for the lineup. My setup is mostly used for music and some light gaming. It's always going to come down to personal taste, but I love more bass myself. Car audio wise, deep heart pounding bass is where it's at, but for home audio a well balanced system that sounds professional and clean is 9 times out of 10 better. I paired these with a Pioneer Andrew Jones 8" sub for a good and not overpowering amount of bass to give it a more full/rich sound. The crossover is set to 80 hertz on my Harman 1710 receiver in direct sound mode (no effects). Placement of the speakers are about 4 inches away from the wall, a hair below ear level and are about 3 feet away most of the time in a 12x12 room with little acoustic dampening. Testing these directly against the Andrew Jones bookshelves I can very easily notice a substantial increase in clarity and quality. With the AJ setup, most music sounded muddy and almost as if it were playing at a low bit rate. My opinion is purely subjective of course, but I would say at least 3x improvement in overall sound quality. The next set of speakers I tested these against for comparison were the klipsch R-15M which are the Best Buy branded Klipsch series. I use these are rears in on my main setup paired with RF-7s usually. The difference was not as great but still there if you listen for it. Overall between the two I would go with whatever is cheaper at the time and you will be just as happy. The R-15Ms do sound a bit brighter or harsh on sounds above 1.5 kilohertz while the RB-51s are more consistent. I took one star off for the slow shipping. Please don't advertise Prime 2 day then take a week. That is a huge petpeve of mine even though it's a total first world problem. It's really hard to review speakers without listening to them and knowing what a specific individual's preference is. I hope I can at least provide some baseline/insight and help someone make the right choice.

I started out with Klipsch speakers in the old ProMedia 5.1 days. Been slowly adding to my collection. I can't say enough good things about their speakers. First, so efficient, you don't need massive power to make a big noise. Every one of the Reference speakers I've bought is in the 90-94 db range, and my 50 Watt Marantz powers 7 channels of Klipsch speakers just fine. Second, clarity. They are so crisp and clear that it sometimes bothers people when listening to female/high pitched voices when I play it loud. For me, though, it provides a bright, clean sound that I love. Give them a listen and you'll instantly understand the clarity/efficiency aspect of these speakers. Used these speakers in my basement, second tier-setup as just 2 speakers with a sub, to make sure I like the sound. After a couple weeks, I figured they were ready for prime time as surround speakers. Of course, they barely see any power at all as surrounds, but they were plenty capable as part of a 2.1 system. You could run them as just the pair, but of course physics demands a big cone for real bass. I personally recommend a 12" woofer if you care about the sound. Of course, anything will be better than nothing. They speakers disperse accurate sound well, filling my small basement easily enough and providing good surround sound in my HT. In short, just buy them. For reference, I have owned Polk and Bose speakers long-term...always prefer the Klipsch when I have the budget.

Be aware--I'm a senior with declining high-frequency hearing. Those of you with young golden ears may have a different opinion. I have been using mid-priced B&W home theater speakers, and a Polk subwoofer, along with a ~$1000 Denon AV network receiver. The B&Ws are smooth with good dispersion but lack punch, to the point of sounding muffled. The Klipsches were purchased to use as an add-on front speaker pair ('Front A+B' configuration) in the hopes of rectifying these deficiencies. And did they ever. Upper midrange to highs on my system now have much better punch, and clarity, than before. The base is much tighter as well as more powerful. Purists may blanch, but to my aged ears the Klipsch/B&W combo sounds better than either set alone. But if I had to make do with just one, I would jettison the B&W and keep the Klipsch--even though the B&Ws cost at least 3x as much. Decades and decades ago I owned a pair of original Klipschorns. They were fantastically efficient but somewhat disappointing tonewise (e.g., strings just didn't really sound like strings). These new Klipsch bookshelf speakers are also pretty efficient (tho nothing like those original Horns) and much more to my liking in terms of tone. For the price, I think they're utterly amazing. Tight, punchy, not shrill, not tiring. Not the world's most luxurious finish or stunning cabinet, but then at this price what you're paying goes completely into the sound. (And I personally think the copper woofers look pretty cool, and I leave the grillcloths off.) Thanks to them, I look forward to one more golden era of musical listening before my hearing fades completely. I highly recommend them.

I wasn't expecting much from these little speakers even though they are Klipsch which has a great reputation. I've heard of Klipsch for decades, surprisingly I've never actually sat and listened to them. I ordered these RB-51 II because they fit the space I had for them. I had ordered a pair of Polk T15 because they fit the space as well and Polk has a good reputation too. The Polk's were half as much money but they sounded terrible. I sent them back. I got the Klipsch today, plugged them into my little 10 watt tube amp and was blown away by how far and away better they sounded than the mediocre Polk's. Just wow! Decent deep base, loud and clear! I always heard they were loud and they are. I used my ten watt tube amp and I had to turn it down. Beautiful clear music, decent bass... just awesome. Find yourself a decent little tube amp and plug these speakers into it. You'll be glad you did. (Monoprice Pure Tube Stereo Amp 😉) BTW, I'm no audiophile, I don't think you need to be one to hear what you like. You don't need anyone telling you how you should think about sound. Ignore the blowhards. In my personal experience and opinion, the speakers don't matter as much as the amp powering them. I've had other, cheaper tube amps that made my other mediocre speakers sound fantastic. (The Polks sounded lousy anyway, which is odd.) At least that's what I heard with my ears. These Klipsch 51 and the Klipsch R41M sound fantastic with my recommended tube amp. I kept the 51's only because the bass was deeper. Otherwise, they sounded nearly identical. And with free returns from Amazon, hey, buy a couple sets of speakers, listen to them for yourself and either keep one pair and send the other back or send them both back and try something else. BTW again, my home theater speakers are Elac uni-fi floor standing, center and bookshelf speakers powered by 5x250 wpc Emotiva amp and I still prefer to listen to music with this Klipsch/tube amp setup.

オーディオ初心者です。たまたまKlipsch社ＳＰの記事を読んで本品を購入しました（アンプはmaranzu Ｍ－ＣＲ６１２）今までのＳＰとはまるで別物。聴こえなかった楽器の音が聴こえてきました。（あくまで初心者の感想ですが）オーディオ上級者のご意見をぜひお伺いしたくよろしくお願いします。

Habe mir diese Lautsprecher für meine Heimkino Anlage als Frontlautsprecher gekauft,da ich nicht so viel Platz habe. Man merkt überhaupt keinen Unterschied zu großen Standlautsprechern. Die habe echt eine beachtliche Leistung. Man muss die Boxen aber ein paar Std. einhören. Dann entfalten sie erst Ihre volle Leistung. Würde die Boxen jedem empfehlen. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Excelente compra! Fáciles de instalar, sonido muy claro y con muy buen volumen en una habitación de tamaño medio.

They sound amazing with my tube amp..

Ho preso queste casse da affiancare al centrale Klipsch RC 52 e devo dire che il rapporto qualità/prezzo è veramente ottimo. Suono potente e preciso, qualità dei materiali eccellente, finiture curatissime (la griglia a bassa diffrazione fissata magneticamente è una vera chicca). Per motivi di spazio non ho potuto prendere diffusori da pavimento ma questi si sono rivelati comunque una soluzione eccellente. Consigliati.
