It does keep my sheets on!!! **Q: How wide is it?** A: The bands are 3/4 of an inch wide. **Q: Can this hold comforters on so they don't fall off my kids during the night? Or just for holding sheets in place?** A: I am not sure I do tuck my top sheet at the bottom. I think with a comforter it would be to thick For the one hugger. So maybe if you use two huggers and the second one with the comforter in place . Place the band at the head of the bed and pull down around the comforter and then pull out from the top side to crawl in. Good luck. I have an adjustable bed and the description mentioned that it doesn't work as well with adjustable beds, and that is something to consider. They do, however, include additional small pieces for each side to use along with the primary band to help with that. My experience is that when the head of the bed is raised, the band doesn't hold the sheet as well along the sides as it does when the bed is flat. The sheet doesn't come out, but it does get looser. I read the description and a lot of the reviews before I ordered so this was not a surprise to me. I decided to go ahead with it because I still thought it would make my life easier, and it has. I like that I don't have to tuck the sheet under the mattress. I just make sure the sheet is under the band all the way around. I'm a senior and not as strong as I used to be, so not having to lift the mattress is a big help for me. It was fairly easy to install. The description or a review I read said it's easier to install with two people. I did it by myself on my double bed; but it probably would have been more difficult for me with a larger bed.
