## Description

Zero-Reset Turret Feature: To simplify field adjustments, Nikon has integrated this feature into all new scopes. Just sight-in as usual, then lift the spring-loaded adjustment knob, rotate to your “zero”, and reengage. Field adjustments are now as simple as dialing-in your subsequent ranges

Review: Great optics, accurate adjustment dials; great scope for the money - Awesome scope for a modern sporting rifle. Optics are very clear. Adjustments are 'true' and respond immediately (not after a few shots are fired, like the 'cheaper' scopes.) I would buy this again and have already recommended it to others. It is simple (fixed 3X means fewer moving parts and less 'openings' to leak the nitrogen gas inside.) It is very strong. You get a great view through it. The bullet drop 'circles' are very handy to have and you can go to Nikon's website to calculate what range each circle represents based on the caliber and load you are firing. I printed it out and taped that to my scope. Don't cheap out. Buy this over a BSA or a BARSKA or whatever else you might be looking at. I'm old enough to honestly say that buying quality the first time actually SAVES YOU MONEY in the long run. When you buy 'cheap' you are soon shopping again and that 'bargain' actually ended up costing you more than if you had just spent a little more money in the first place to get something truly good. You won't regret buying this Nikon.
Review: Focus on a good scope - My first impression of taking this out of the box is how stout this little scope is. It's solid! And, of course, the optical clarity you'd expect from Nikon is there, it's a very nice scope for the money. It's also a great size for the AR, not too big or small, just right. Sometimes putting full sized scopes on AR's can be a hassle, and they certainly add to the weight of the gun, this is right in there and hits that sweet spot. The reticle isn't the BDC type I have on my other Nikon's, but the turret adjustments, build quality and overall design makes it a very nice scope. It would also be a great scope for maybe something like a carbine or brush type gun in .223. I will update once I mount it and sight it in, but so far, I'm very impressed. Great value.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I wonder at what distance this scope should be zeroed? Would zeroing at 50 yards be ok? I am relatively new at using a scope. Most local ranges are 25**
A: After 25 years in the Marine Corps, half of them in combat zones, I've found that it is most efficient to BZO your rifle at 36 yards before fine tuning your optics at longer ranges. That being said, a 36 yard BZO will put you on paper at 300 yards and the strike of the round in the in the vital organs from zero to 400 yards if aiming center of mass. I own a Ruger SR556 with a 16.5" barrel with a Nikon scope and shoot sub MOA, one inch per 100 yards, groups out to 300 yards. The 16.5 inch barrel makes longer shots less accurate. If this doesn't make sense, go to the Winchester Ballistics Calculator, plug in your cartridge specifics and range and you can see the ballistic trajectory graphed out. Just remember to set the wind to zero.

**Q: Has any body put his on a MiNi 14 Ranch using the Ruger rings ??**
A: No, the scope rings are too far apart. I have this scope and tried to mount it on my Mini-14 with the Ruger rings. Even had Ruger exchange my rings with one tall offset and one regular tall (the offset Ruger rings only come in tall), and it still wouldn't work. Mounted a rail to the scope points to mount this scope, but it sat so high I had to use a cheek pad on the stock. Didn't like how tall is sat, so I swapped it out with a Redfield 2-7x scope using medium Ruger rings. I really like this scope, though, so I was disappointed I couldn't mount it without it sitting really high, plus the rail made removing the bolt a PIA. After market Ruger rings might work, like someone suggested. Maybe I'll try that, the Redfield is over kill for the Mini.

**Q: Where is this scope manufactured?**
A: In the Philippines

**Q: would this scope be a good choice for 300+ yards**
A: As a few others have stated, for it being a low fixed power scope it is on the "weak side" of pin point accuracy for 300+ yards. But as a person who has 2 of them mounted on AR's and shooting 55gr bullets all the time, it does work for 300 yrds without the need of using the BDC and I am able to hit a 12 inch target 8 out of 10 times. Know your ammo and if your eye sight is "ok" you should be fine. Don't be discouraged from buying this scope, it is a great scope with crystal clear field of view.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great optics, accurate adjustment dials; great scope for the money

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Focus on a good scope

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good scope for the price, Unless you are packing your AR on hikes.
*by A***N on December 13, 2015*

I bought this to go on one of my AR-15s, I wanted a small scope for out to 400 yards, and for that It works great. It is fairly light, and short.. however the "tacticool" turrets are much bigger than necessary. They are much bigger than they look in the pictureand they make it so this is not a compact scope at all. If I were to carry this rifle on a sling the turrets are what bump against things. (this is a problem because they are fairly easy to turn and I can see them loosing zero during a hike) It would be good if they had some way of locking... I am not a fan of the BDC reticle as I prefer to use moa hash marks, but they aren't bad, And if you set it up for the proper range it does get you on target for the longer shots. The Glass I very clear (It better look good at only 3x) But I was actually pleasantly surprised at the quality glass in this 110 dollar scope. The image is sharp and it is very easy to get proper eye relief (as you would expect from a 3x) I mounted this using Nikon P-Series Mounts, which brought the scope to the proper eye height for my AR-15 and allowed me to mount the scope back far enough to get proper eye relief. I rated it 4 stars because you are getting a fine little scope for the money, it seems well built and Things that I don't like about it may not be a problem to other people.
