Snake in trap better than snake in bed....
Wow, this thing works! The rental has had problems with snakes getting inside, possibly through the crawl space door or vents. So far caught 2 king snakes 4 ft long on separate occasions and 2 smaller species on a single glue board. One small snake was killed crawling just outside the trap, and another 4ft snake going away from the house. That's fewer broods going into the house. So much Better than having one crawling in the bed at night. Having to get a new trap because the last snake stuck the glue board to the inside top of the trap. Bye bye snakes..mice...yuk

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
After weeks and WEEKS of moving this expensive thing from one place to another in my home- IT IS STILL EMPTY!!! It does NOT WORK! I had to kill two snakes MYSELF after buying this worthless thing! It is nothing but a big piece of plastic and a large sticky trap! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

there are problems with the design
When you attempt to put the glue stick board in the stiff cardboard box, there is a risk it will stick to the top of the box. This is a design flaw as there is nothing to hold the glue paper to the bottom of the box other than gravity. I had to create a mechanisim to hold it down using rubber bands, and safety pins attached to the glue pad. If the glue pad sticks to the top of the box, the device is useless. I bought two of them and do agree that the box will withstand rain and the outdoors. There is no "bait" or anything to atract the rodents or the snakes. I have not caputured anything to describe how easy to clean the device is.

Great idea
Great idea. I like that it has an inclosed area so iโm not catching anything bigger than the snake. Spiders and other bugs are caught in it now, luckily no squirrels or anything. Havenโt caught the snake. Hopefully it relocated on its own.

Worked well for us.
5 days and it caught the guy who had been stealing our eggs! Alive, unharmed, and ready to move to a better (for us) location. Trap was easy to use and check. Oil worked to release him. We did have to bait with an egg. Very satisfied with this purchase. Do get some spare sticky pads. We used 2 total. Update: another year later, using refill adhesive and egg for bait... still catching snakes!

Garder snakes got into my pond and were eating my Coy.
I purchased the CAHABA SNAKE TRAP, large. and caught one the first day and two the 2nd day, These darn snakes are excellent swimmers and can stay underwater a long time. I tried to catch them with my net but they were just too fast. They will grab a fish by the tail and start eating it while the fish is still alive and trying to get away. There are still two more snakes near the pond and I hope the trap will get them before they kill any more of my fish. Every winter when the fish "hybernate", I will have babies the following spring. The snakes have eaten all 12 of the young, this year. The snakes also killed one of the larger Coy. Thank goodness for this wonderful trap. I was just sick seeing my babies dissapear and not being able to do anything about it until now. My thanks to the folks at the CAHABA SNAKE TRAP company. Dale Snipes, Sandpoint, Idaho

Dead copperheads
Update 1 year later: the glue talks work great, but the boxes are junk. 2 of the 4 boxes cracked down the middle about 7 months in, and 1 box blew away in the wind. Build your own wooden box. After our family member black lab of 7 years was killed by a snake, I bought 4 of these, had 1 already, and just put one sticky mat out by itself, so 6 traps in all. They sat for a week or so with nothing, had to rescue a bird in one case (hint make sure the trap is placed in the middle of the box, not near the outside and check traps daily). The weather was cooling down, and I think the snakes went in their dens. Then we had a significant warmup yesterday. Today, 4 traps had snakes in them. One trap had 7 snakes alone (I haven't pulled the others yet). Money well spent. I would pay anything to get my best friend back, but I would have been terrified if my kids had come across these snakes. Regarding the material. Yes, they look like cardboard on the pictures, but they are not. They are plastic, and they seem to have been holding up just fine in the weather. They aren't soaked or soggy as one person stated. They get wet, they dry out. I would have preferred the original style which was a solid open ended plastic box (that's one of my traps that caught a copperhead this time), because they are much easier to empty. Now I have a bit more dread thinking about having to unlatch the end of the box to get it open enough to slide the paper out. With the open-ended ones (which were freaking tough, I've had it for 5 years out in the dirt, and it's perfectly good still), it's simple to pick up and slide out. That would be my only complaint about these. However, I'm sure they did this for a couple of reasons: 1) since the box is made from lighter plastic, bendable plastic, the box wouldn't hold its shape without closing up the ends and latching them closed. They should go back to solid plastic. 2) Maybe they got rid of the open ends to prevent other animals from getting inside. I can understand and appreciate that.

satisfaction
Not sure that these work or not since I have not caught any snakes yet but the mental satisfaction of knowing they are out there is worth the price. The smaller ones that I ordered are made with stronger material and since the larger ones are outside, thought the larger ones would be stronger. But well satisfied with both and very quickly sent. We only have garter and black snakes here but I am terrified of any snake.
