This is a perfect microscope for students to learn science. It is also an excellent instrument for hobbyists. It is brand new in original box. Its retail value is $400.

Review: Solid real microscope, not a plastic toy! - I can't give any fancy technical review on this. I can tell you, I am a mom. I have a teenager who really wants to get into the medical field. She loves looking at everything through a microscope. (she soon may have more microscope pictures on her cell phone then selfies!) I can tell you I spent literally months reading reviews of microscopes, checking descriptions, pictures, etc. I didn't want a piece of plastic that was going to be broken before the Christmas decorations were put away. I wanted a solid unit that worked well and didn't break the bank. She has no had this for two months and we are completely satisfied. The unit is sturdy. The controls are easy to use. And the cost didn't break the bank.

**Q: Does this  microscope hook up to a computer monitor?**

**Q: Is the light bulb replaceable without soldering?**
A: Yes, there's replacement LED bulbs for the microscope and it will not involve any soldering.

**Q: Is this item made of 100% metal?**
A: No some parts like knobs and gray strip on bottom of stand is hard plastic. It is a good miroscope for what I am doing!

**Q: Can you see organelles?**
A: I would venture a weary yes. I havent quite gotten to that point yet. But i have seen larger cells (bacteria and yeasts i believe) that have burst open or been crushed and have seen some of the structure inside. However I have yet to order stains, so I havent done much on that front. My scope came with dirty optics, but after a cleaning the 40x objective 25x eyepiece (1000x) pulls a decent image to the eye without immersion. Of course with immersion it is much sharper(photo quality. not perfect, but can see detail well with a T5 DSLR image capture).

We love the fact that you can power the light with batteries and go outside, or plug it in when you're back inside. The LED is very bright - when using the higher powered lenses, you can increase the light and still see clearly. Love it.

The microscope and slide stage holder are excellent products, however, they do not work together. The machining of the hold down screws does not match the existing hole in the stage thus assembly is difficult. In addition, the slide holder is too large for the microscope stage making viewing of the entire slide impossible. I sent the whole package back. Would not advise purchase.
