Hokusai: Prints and Drawings

What a beautiful book! Fascinating, excellent descriptions of each illustration, which are very well reproduced. If you are at all interested in oriental art, (in this case Japanese) you really must buy this book.

Excilent book

This book is an ideal introduction to Hokusai. It has an introdcutory biography at the beginning, before the catalogue, that not only covers Hokusai's artistic history but also briefly covers other Japanese artists. Each picture of a print is accompanied by a fairly lengthy explanatory text, and the catalogue of prints is huge. Excellent value for money.
