Sony ICD-BX112 Digital Flash Voice Recorder

I bought this Sony digital device to record songwriting ideas.The sensitivity of the microphone is incredible for a unit of this price, and the speaker is loud and clear enough for ideas, meetings, etc. Plus, it provides virtual 5 virtual folders named "A" to "E", to help you organize your recordings. Although the memory is not expandable,I guess 22 hours at maximum resolution is more than enough!(it goes up to 570 hours on minimum resolution, but I would skip that). I can't say enough good things about this voice recorder. It's the size of a cell phone and is easy to operate. The sound quality is excellent. I use mine to record HOA board meetings and every single word is captured.

Neat little recorder for my class lectures. I love the way it pauses during silence and restarts on its own. It picks up my professor just the same if he walks to the far end of the room. The files are easily saved. Only downside was, it will turn on in my bag if something rubs up against it, at times I dont know its on and that kills my battery....guess I would suggest to get a case for it, thats my next buy!

Love this product! Works great and is so sensitive to sound, that it records everything! Easy to use and operate, compact and for us it makes taking notes alot easier when you dont have time to write down things or your not able to write...great when traveling and need to remember something...just record it! The only draw back is I wish it had a clip to be able to clip it to your clothing...like a collar or pocket so you could keep hands free when driving, but otherwise great item and would recommend this product! This recorder was alright but unable to upload recording without a special program. I ending up needing to purchase another recorder to upload recordings to my computer.

This was shipped super fast! It does everything it says it does and the volume goes up really loud which is good for me! I use it for ghost hunting to capture EVP's and I need for it to turn up loud, and it works great! While recording you can hear everything around you- trees blowing, birds chirping, cars going by; it is really sensitive. Exactly what I was looking for and it was a great price!

I gave two stars because it actually is a good recording device. The features for splitting audio, organizing it, and managing stored files is quite good. However, at this time what possible use could a voice recorder be without an USB connection to offload the audio?

MISE A JOUR DU 5 FEVRIER 2016 : 4 ans après mon achat (et après avoir obtenu mon concours!), je me balade sur Amazon, et que vois-je... Ce dictaphone. Nostalgique je clique sur le produit... Et wow ! Que les prix ont grimpé... J'ai acheté ce produit en en 2012 à 21,99€ sur Amazon. Là, je vois qu'il a plus que doublé... C'est vraiment abusé. Voila ! Je tenais à vous le dire. Bonne route ;) Commentaire initiale du 30 avril : Etant en médecine, j'ai acheté un dictaphone pour pouvoir enregistrer les cours. L'environnement est assez bruyant (dans des amphis de 300 personnes), j'avoue avoir eu un petit peu peur de ne rien pouvoir entendre avec ce dictaphone. J'avoue ne rien y connaître, donc j'avais demandé conseil sur internet, où des personnes m'avaient conseillées de ne pas acheter de modèle d'entrée de gamme, sous peine de ne pas avoir de bons rendus (on m'a conseillé des modèles à plus de 150€, pour obtenir une qualité "correct"...). Bon, tout ça, pour moi, personne lambda, c'est n'importe quoi. Je suis très satisfait de ce dictaphone, qui m'a bien été utile tout au long de l'année. La qualité de son est bonne, en tout cas c'est compréhensible. Maintenant, au cours de l'année, j'ai acquis un iPhone V2. Et je trouve la qualité du dictaphone de l'iPhone très correct, pour ne pas dire équivalente ou supérieur à la qualité d'enregistrement de ce dictaphone. Qui plus est, vous pourrez transférer les pistes enregistrées sur votre ordinateur, chose que vous ne pourrez pas faire avec ce modèle. Donc tout dépend de l'usage que vous comptez faire de ce dictaphone. Si c'est pour enregistrer des cours, ou des discussions au cours desquels vous avez besoin de votre iPhone, alors prenez le : il fera très bien l'affaire. Maintenant, si vous avez un iPhone, je déconseille l'achat de cette appareil : autant utiliser votre iPhone, ça fera tout à fait l'affaire. Je reste cependant satisfait de mon achat, et ce même si j'ai un iPhone. Pour la petite histoire, il m'est souvent arrivé de ne pas avoir le temps d'aller en cours, mais de vouloir quand même enregistrer le cours. J'ai donc pris mon dictaphone sony, l'ait poser à coté du professeurs, puis suis partis travaillé à la bibliothèque. Ça, je n'aurais pas pu le faire avec mon iPhone, tout du moins, c'est beaucoup plus risqué. Bonne journée! PS : Je parle d'iPhone, car j'ai un iPhone, et j'ai pu comparer les deux engins. Maintenant, si vous avez un Blackberry ou tout autre téléphone assez "récent" pour disposer d'une fonction dictaphone, je pense que cela peut faire la route... Tout dépend de l'usage que vous voulez faire de votre dictaphone.

I read all the usual hype about this product hoping to make-up my mind whether I should part with my hard earned cash. The only negative response that I saw related to the fact that voice files could not be easily up-loaded to a computer. This problem didn't faze me since I wasn't concerned with making such a plan. But now I have ownership of the recorder, I realize that all that is needed is a double ended cable. This allows a plug to be inserted into the earphone socket, located on the recorder,and the other opposite plug, to be inserted into the microphone socket, that is located on the computer. The cable allows for the transfer of sound from recorder to computer and can be readily bought from an electronic shop such as Maplin. In order to capture the sound onto the computer some software needs to be installed. This can be downloaded for free from the internet and is called, 'Audacity'. I am so pleased to have my recorder. The sound recording is good enough for my purpose, which is to dictate verbal notes and to play them back whenever required. The size of the recorder is such that it can fit snugly into the narrow breast pocket of my jacket. To use the recorder is a piece of cake. All the buttons are clearly marked and anyone with experience of any recording machine will quickly identify the use of all the buttons. There is a very adequate and easy to understand instruction sheet supplied in the package, should it be needed, along with two new batteries that allowed me to start using the instrument straight away. A screen with LCD display shows the current time of day, together with battery condition and file number. The overall recording time is divided into a number of files that one can create oneself. The files are each given a number and can be located at any time by selection so that their contents may be listened to. In other words numerous recordings can be made and all can be separate from each other and also stored. When the files are no longer required they can easily be erased. Still thinking of buying one? Think no more, buy!! This piece of information technology is one that I respect and is a joy to have in my pocket.

Premesso che non avevo mai avuto necessità in precedenza di acquistare un prodotto simile, posso però dire che questo registratore lavora veramente bene, riuscendo a registrare conferenze anche a distanza di metri dal relatore. D'altronde prima di usarlo l'avevo testato provando a registrare la mia voce a distanza via via più rilevante rispetto al Sony e provando anche a registrare tenendo il registratore alle mie spalle ed il risultato è sempre stato molto buono. Ottima anche la durata complessiva delle registrazioni. Unica punto negativo la durata delle batterie, però non avendo termini di confronto con altri prodotti similari il mio è un giudizio che va' verificato da chi ha esperienze maggiori.

Ich nutze dieses Diktiergerät als Vokabeltrainer für meine Tochter (sie möchte mit mir Französisch- und Englischvokabeln unter Einbeziehung der Aussprache üben, und kann dies nun zeitlich unabhängig von mir tun,da ich ihr die Vokabeln einfach aufspreche, inklusive Abfrage der buchstabierten Rechtschreibung) und bin absolut begeistert. Das Gerät vereint in sich folgende Funktionen und Vorteile: -Es ist sehr klein und handlich -Super lange Aufnahmedauer (je nach Klangqualität bis zu 534 Stunden) -es hat eine tolle Klangqualität, die Stimme klingt glasklar (es gibt sogar eine Rauschunterdrückung, falls laute Umgebungsgeräusche vorhanden sind) -Die Bedienung ist sehr einfach und intuitiv -eine klare, kurze und verständliche Anleitung liegt bei -Es gibt verschiedene Menüs zum ordnen der Aufnahmen (ich nutze sie für Deutsch-Englisch, Englisch-Deutsch, Deutsch-Französisch, Französisch-Deutsch), wobei auch ein Verschieben innerhalb der Ordner möglich ist -man kann Aufnahmen mit der Rec Taste unterbrechen und wieder fortsetzen -Es gibt einen Kopfhörer- und Mikrofonanschluß Einziger Nachteil: -es gibt keine Schnittstelle zum PC weder per USB noch über Speicherkarte, sodass keinerlei nachträgliche Bearbeitung oder Archivierung der Dateien möglich ist. Für meine Zwecke benötige ich diese PC Schnittstelle auch nicht, es ist das optimale Gerät um Gedanken, Ideen, Konferenzen, Gespräche, Notizen oder eben wie in meinem Fall Vokabeln aufzunehmen und sie später wieder abzuhören und gegebenenfalls schriftlich festzuhalten. Für den Preis ein absolutes Multitalent, von mir (und meiner Tochter) gibt es dafür die volle Punktzahl!
