Cheap Alternative to Nanoleaf
I have about $700 invested in Nanoleaf and this was the best/cheapest alternative I've found.Compared to Nanoleaf, the app is pretty bad. But it does the job and there's a lot of customization available.I think the lights themselves are pretty good and have a wide range of effects. The lights are very bright when used at 100%. I'll probably never use mine over 25%. It works with Alexa but the alexa skill and the native app are named differently and I never saw it documented anywhere. The Alexa skill is called lifesmart....saved you a google click.I got the lamp with 10 modules and I probably wouldn't get any set that was smaller. In reading the last few comments before I purchased 2 of these, there was a comment about the packaging being excessive. Then the next guy was like, 'really, buddy?!'. I kinda felt the same way until it got here. Let's just say I spent more time unpackaging and cleaning up than I did setting up the lamp. All the boxes are folded origami style so you can flatten them all or a relatively small size, but you're talking at least 20 individual boxes and dividers for ONE lamp. No fear of these lights being damaged in transit whatsoever, but it was a bit of overkill.I like the lights and I think they're a great value. The item is as described. The touch sensor is about useless, (you have to fumble around behind the lamp to find it with blinding LEDs in your eye but this is not a feature I care about). The app isn't the best UI/UX but I'm not here for the app. Once I get the presets the way I want, I'll probably always use Alexa exclusively to control this device.

Love them!!
The media could not be loaded. I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!! I have collected different lights for years and these are some of the best lights that I have come across due to there ease of use, colors, and patterns. That being said there are some improvements that could be made. The app is acceptable but could be so much better by giving the user complete control of the lights rather than the presets that are currently available. It is absolutely the software that limits these lights. The app is difficult to navigate. I just happened to stumble upon the customized dynamic menu as it is not readily apparent. The set up is fairly easy but it would have been nice to have a little more direction. Alot of what these lights can do depends on how they connect to each other via the provided connectors. I have learned there abilities and limitations through trial and error because of the limited instructional material. EDIT: lights are still going strong and the app has gotten a couple of updates and is AWESOME!! You can now control every led in every panel. These are cool little lights.

Great Cololights !
These lights are pretty good overall. The instructions were very easy to follow, and the instillation was easy. in the app once you connect the lights to the wifi you can choose colors, dynamics, brightness and many other things. You can either use the provided base or you can put them on the wall. And if you chose to buy more of these lights in the future you can easily attach the new lights with the connecters, so overall these are cool lights that are worth buying.

Work perfect, Tips for connecting to Alexa!
I love this light! Bright fun, very well made but follow instructions. Two types of back clips, wide and slim. Every hex requires a wide clip, you use the slim ones to stabilize the structure. Even if your power cube says 2a, it may not work, switch power cubes you have lying around until you find one that the light will work with, without getting hot. If you want to connect to Alexa, add the “LifeSmart” skill. Also on your iOS device you will need 2 apps (both made by LifeSmart) the “Cololight” app (no i did not misspell it) and the “LifeSmart” app. Why? Because there is no Cololight skill for Alexa and the LifeSmart app will not connect to the light (bug) but it will add it automatically once you connect it to the Cololight app. The button on the back of the light is touch sensitive and does not actually depress, i had to figure that out.1. Download the LifeSmart app you need to set up a simple free account.2. Sync the LifeSmart skill on Alexa with the new account from step 13. Download the Cololight App and enter your account from step 14. Add device from the Cololight app, follow the steps (remember switch is touch sensitive)5. The light will be added automatically to the LifeSmart app, and the LifeSmart skill in Alexa! The way I look at it is this, the home automation tech is still fairly new... if it takes a couple of apps to get it done, then just go with it. We can grumble about the extra steps or enjoy the fun new light! So it matters not to me how I got it to work, just that it does.So good luck hope all this helps! Highly recommend these super cool lights.
