I am very pleased with the product
I purchased this lighting kit on Monday, and they arrived today. I was looking for an affordable light kit for sometime now, specifically for online audition submissions, as many of them are done over Skype and YouTube nowadays, but the need did not become urgent until my acting coaches canceled class because of a snowstorm and announced that they expected us to film ourselves with our prepared work and submit it to them via YouTube. I am very pleased with the product. It came with two dispersion umbrellas and 3 lamps which I've done the calculations for the maximum wattage they can take: 6 amps x 120 volts=720 watts. This means that if I need more light I can always swap the included CFLs for something with more power, and I can also swap out the included umbrellas with reflective ones. It also came with 3 adjustable stands: 2 of them can stretch to a maximum of 8 feet and can be collapsed and folded all the way to 2 and half feet, the third stand full collapsed is even smaller, so there is plenty of wiggle room for adjustment. The nobs holding these stands together are plastic, but there are steel screws on the inside that tighten, so while the outside may seem plastic, the inside stuff that ties together to hold the stands up are in fact metal. Yes, the stands feel a bit flimsy as in if someone walks into one or trips over the cord, they can topple, but, quite honestly, anyone who knows the safety basics of how to behave on a set should have no excuse for doing that! The stands are solid and stable if you are surrounded by people who watch where they are going and know what they are doing. Much of this flimsiness is owed to their lightness which makes them very portable. Set-up took 10 minutes, and, to me, the nobs and clamping mechanisms that make the parts of the stands adjustable seemed pretty intuitive. If you know how to put in a screw, there is no learning curve whatsoever. I saw an earlier criticism that the light bulbs have their own separate container and do not fit into the main bag. Well since the bag is cloth, and there are solid parts that will be clunked around, chances are you don't want to put your bulbs in there where they could easily break in transport. If anything, I wish the bulb tote was bigger and more solid so one doesn't have to keep the bulbs in their boxes(I prefer to err on the side of caution when carrying light bulbs). Yes, it would have been nice to have had a separate section with plenty of cushioning to store the bulbs in the carrying bag with all the other stuff, but with any lighting kit under a hundred dollars, one has to expect corners to be cut somewhere. I am glad it was just with the bag, and not the equipment itself. The one thing I would change aside from a bigger carrying bag to store everything, is the length of the lamp cords. I plan on getting a surge protected power strip along with an extension cord for each lamp, thankfully the main carrying bag is big enough to carry those. Overall, I am very satisfied. I recommend this product to anyone who needs studio lighting, for either photography or video, and is on a tight budget or just starting out. I also recommend it for anyone that does a lot of traveling and requires studio lighting wherever they go. It may not the best of the best with honors, but it does the job, and at the end of a long day's shoot, that's all that really matters.

Great light set for those on a budget
I'm a bit above an amateur photographer, but in general I'm a natural light photographer so I haven't had the need to invest much in lights. I have a couple remote flashes and trigger that I've been able to make work for some indoor shooting. As I needed to take better pictures of my paintings, I finally decided I needed to invest in a light kit. Something like this can cause hundreds or even thousands, which I just didn't want to do. I figured a small investment in the LimoStudio kit would either do the trick or convince me I needed to make a bigger investment. No need to keep you guessing - this set gets the job done. I included a photo of how I set the lights up to photograph a fairly reflective painting. I turned off all other lights (at night) and aimed the Limo lights towards the ceiling to bounce the light rather than point directly at the painting. This lit up the painting enough to where I was able to take a good picture without glare and at a reasonable exposure. Other reviewers have said the lights aren't very bright. I did not find that to be the case. In fact, if I had a light and a half, it would have worked perfect for me. Instead, one light was not quite bright enough and two lights was almost too much. No need to even bring in the third. Judging from photos from a few other reviewers, it looked like they were using this light set in combination with either natural light or other lights and even without the umbrellas. With so many competing lights it would be tough to manage. The tripods and swivel connectors aren't great quality, but they get the job done. The umbrellas are fairly thin, but they work fine ultimately. I had the tripods fully extended and they didn't have any tipping issues as some suggested. I wouldn't use these outside though. The cases aren't high quality, but again, they work. I like that the bulbs are meant to be stowed in their original packaging in the included bag so they will be pretty well protected. I appreciate the lights have long cords so I have a lot of flexibility in placement. All told, this set does everything it needs to at a great price. I don't know how well it will hold up over time, but I'm not too worried about it for a relatively small investment.

Decent basic lights
I bought this light set at the same time I got the greenscreen and stand for the greenscreen. I wanted to use it to take pictures of my kids as characters from the Harry Potter realm and turn them into bookmarks. There are many other fun things I plan to do with it but that was the excuse I used to buy it. The positives are: decent quality but lightweight stands, easy to set up, very portable, works well, makes a soft lights. The negatives are: no quick guide in the packaging or on their site as how to best use the lights. I'm a novice so that would've helped. Especially as I was planning to use it with a greenscreen I didn't know how to make these 3 lights work. I have a feeling I need more to do it properly. They also seemed kind of dimmer than I wanted and I had to put them very close to the subject. I was trying to create more of a shadow on one side of the face and it wasn't really possible as it made the light so evenly distributed. The bag, although nice to have, is a bit flimsy and I think the zipper will be breaking very soon as it already came undone in the middle after only one use. For the price it was still a good deal and I'm glad I got it. I still have to learn a lot more about how to use them. If you're planning on doing beauty shots then I think this set will do well. If you need to light a background or create more mood lighting you'll need more 'stuff.' I'm not sure what they is yet but with more education I hope to know eventually.

Excellent quality of stands & umbrellas - replace weak light bulbs
I was surprised by the quality of the stands - for the price, they're great! The lights themselves are pretty weak, for anything but unboxing videos, you'll need to replace them with better light bulbs. Still very much worth it. Stands are stable, feel strong, extend over 6 feet and fold quite short (please note - only 2, the third one is short mini stand), and while the light socket holders are plastic, they're of reasonably good quality. Umbrellas are basic and work well. Everything works smoothly, and I loved the carry bags they came in, especially the padded bulb bag. I looked for a lighting set that has the light stands that are solidly built and extend over 6 feet at a reasonable price, because I shoot on location and my equipment takes some punishment - it's worth it to me to simply replace the stuff from time to time instead of paying 100s for top of the line sets. This set hits all the points, and I suspect it will last me a long time.

but thankfully the seller did such a great job with inner packaging everything inside was untouched
It arrived several days earlier than expected. The outer Amazon box was all jacked up, but thankfully the seller did such a great job with inner packaging everything inside was untouched. I read some reviews before I bought this setup and seen many people gave it a bad review due to the light bulbs or quality of equipment. Everyone needs to understand it is a $55 setup, not a $1000 one, you get what you pay for. With that being said, I think this setup is worth more than $55. It comes with 2 decent bags, 1 for the bulbs and 1 for the rest of the setup. It all fits in these bags great. The light bulbs are as described. They are 6500K which just happens to be on the blue end of the spectrum. If you want lighting that is more white and less blue then get 5500K bulbs. If you want more yellow go with 4500K bulbs, etc. It is what it is. The blue tint does not bother me because I shoot in Raw which allows me to adjust white balance in post production anyway. If you are using this setup for photography for customers I hope you are not shooting in Jpeg anyway, you lose way too much detail when it comes to editing. But I am not trying to get off topic, this setup is awesome, the quality of materials is good. If you take care of your equipment you should have no problems anyway. I have a cheap $20 tripod people bashed, but we have been going strong for 4 years now. One thing to keep in mind, do not try and crank the bulbs and knobs down too tight, just get them snug and they should last a while. The umbrellas are thin, but seem to be nice quality. All in all, this is way better than I expected from reading the negative reviews. I was almost going to go with Cowboy Studio's same setup, but there seemed to be a lot of reviews about there bulb sockets being jacked up, so I decided with LimoStudio and am so happy I did. I figure one good session will pay for it. Soon I will upload a few sample shots that I have taken with this setup to hopefully give some people peace of mind.

Well thought-out light set-up for inside use
Product is somewhat better quality that I expected. The packaging is clever and strong, and was delivered in perfect condition. The 3 stands are made of black metal (thin but not ridiculously so), except for the triangular, plastic junction where the metal legs meet in order to join with the central column, which is also also metal. The top of each column has a recess for meeting the tightening of the screw from the lamp holder; this recessed section is extended with a short (3/8") 1/4" standard thread which may come handy for securing accessories, such as a paper holding clip, for instance. The 2 umbrella are fine; they are light enough so one should not tighten the screw that holds them to the lamp base, which could crush the umbrella column. The 3 lamp holders are all plastic, but of a hard type that seems very robust, together with their adjustment screws whose threads are all-metal. Each has a switch and a 80" cord.A good, compact deign. The label on each unit indicates a rating of 6A, 120V, but the gage of the cord is too small, I think, for safely carrying such a high current - but plenty, of course, for the supplied lamps. The 2 carrying cases are good quality also; the long one takes the 3 stands, 2 umbrellas and 3 lamp bases, all with a reasonably, not-overly tight fit. The smaller case holds the 3 lamps fine. I have not yet extensively tested the included CFL's that are claimed to provide a daylight-type of light. Overall, this is, of course, a light-duty set-up, not suitable for outside work in any kind of windy condition. On the borderline of being somewhat "flimsy" but adequate for amateur in-house use. My appraisal is very much in line with those who have select 4 or 5 stars. I would recommend it to a friend.

Exactly what I needed for evening Zoom sessions.
I bought this set because I work from home now. I am a community college librarian and instructor, and although the bulk of my work takes place in the daytime hours, I do have evening appointments and instruction sessions that are held on Zoom. I couldn't for the life of me find a place in my house with enough light to bring me out of the gloom. None of the carefully aimed desk lights and strategically placed lamps were doing the trick. It's hard for my students to stay engaged in an online environment anyway, and the fact I was speaking to them from the shadows wasn't helping the situation. A colleague had bought a single lamp from this company and recommended it, but he also said he felt he needed one more. So when I saw this set of three, I just jumped. My husband cracked up when I set it all up. Our dining room looks like a photography studio. "Very Fancy!" It took me some trial and error to find the exact placement, but I did. Even marked the floor with some tape for quick set up. IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE! Dare I say profound? They don't give me daylight conditions, but instead a warm, amber light. A diffused light. I even use it if the day is gloomy and my picture window isn't cutting it. I call it the Uhura Effect, because I look all soft like all the chicks on Star Trek. I sort of wished I really looked the way I look under those lights. lol. So I have no idea how this works for photographers, but if you're looking to up your Zoom game, I highly recommend this. I've promised to give it to my daughter when I get to go back to work. SHe'll love it to make videos on IG and Tik Tok.

Know what you're buying! This is NOT good lighting for photography..
**Update** 06/04/2015** I ordered 2 85 Watt ALZO Bulbs 5500k 120v. These are quite large but the lighting is MUCH better.. Unfortunately.. I had to pay about $45 for these bulbs which made getting this kit operational a total of about $100. Don't get me wrong I like the kit and the stands work very well. But the bulbs that come with them are useless. The included bulbs in addition to bad lighting make human subjects skin color very ill looking.. ALZO bulbs have a CR rating of 91 and they are here on amazon. I give this three stars for the stands themselves were decent. But my dreams of lighting were otherwise crushed. The Good: 1. Stands were plenty sturdy and plenty high enough. 2. The third table top stand makes for good backlighting. That's all the good The Bad: 1. The kit as it is, is absolutely useless for photography. The 45 W bulbs included are not near enough light to be properly shot indoors. I had to put the lights just inches away from my subject and set my camera to an ISO of 800 or higher to capture the light needed. This is BAD, more noise and a lot less quality.. For this kit to be used you MUST purchase a higher wattage bulb. 2. The carrying case is too small to carry all the items.. Even though they now include a separate bulb case. There is nothing to protect the umbrellas included with this kit either. That's basically the bad.. Over all.. I am left a bit disappointed. I'll definitely need to buy my own case to carry otherwise the life of this item will not be long. I also will have to purchase additional bulbs to replace the useless ones that come with this package. I hate giving bad reviews but the buyers need to beware of what is being purchased.
