This is perfect for home or just as a small office shredder at your desk. I’ve used it for both. If you need to shred the credit card offers you get in the mail, this is highly effective. And if you have documents you occasionally need to shred in the office and the company shredder is not nearby, this is perfect. Note that this is a small budget friendly shredder, and it is highly effective if you use it as such. If you need to do a lot of shredding everyday, this probably isn’t for you. Works very good. Strong motor. But, some shreds stay in the cutter blade assembly. A bit top heavy, easy to knock over.

This shredder has been very reliable and easy to use right out of the box. The setup was straightforward and the design is intuitive, so there was no learning curve needed to start using it. It consistently handles paper well and often performs better than the advertised 8 sheet capacity when feeding in standard documents. I’ve also been impressed that it easily cuts through plastic cards without any issue. One limitation is that it will not cut through metal cards, but that is expected and not a drawback for normal home or office use. Overall, it is a solid, dependable shredder that does exactly what it is supposed to do with no complications.

The shredder works great and is good quality. This is the second Amazon Basics item I’ve purchased and I really like their products. I love that it has a handle to remove the top when you need to empty it. Some people complained about the noise level but it’s a shredded, what can you expect. I’ve never heard a quiet shredder…lol. I would definitely recommend it.

My old black and decker shredder seized up, so I bought this one in hopes that it would do a decent job, and boy it did not disappoint. In the video, I'm shredding 8 pages, which is the limit in the one that I purchased. Yeah, it's a bit slow when you're shredding that much paper at once, but it does it without a problem. In the photo, was a bag of what I had already shredded, and what still needed to be done. Please keep reading, because I think this is important and I'm really, really impressed. In the course of an hour, I shredded about 1,500 papers (I cleaned out my filing cabinet and transferred a bunch of my med records to digital). Not once did it jam. Not once did it overheat. 99% of my papers already had the staples removed so I don't know how well it would do if there were tons of those going through, but the blades are really sharp. I shredded a couple of credit cards--no problem. I don't even know if the reverse button works, because I never had to use it. It's not quiet, but it's a shredder for pete's sake. I don't understand why people in other reviews are complaining about the noise level. Mine makes a bit of a squeaky noise as well, but it works, so I'm definitely ignoring it. I will say, that in my hour of shredding, that I only fed through 4-5 sheets at a time, because it went much quicker, AND every so often I would put shredder oil on a sheet of paper and feed it through. And FYI for you folks out there, Amazon sells Fellows shredder oil, 16oz for $6.25. I spent way more for 4oz at Walmart. You have to make sure that the top is seated down all the way, or the power won't turn on, but I think that's pretty standard with all of them, my old one was like that. I like that the bin has a clear window in it, because I can see how full it's getting. It does tend to put the shreds towards the front, so every once in a while you have to give it a little shake to level everything out. The only con for me is the size and that's totally my fault. My other shredder was quite a bit bigger and I didn't have to empty it as often. I just didn't pay attention to the dimensions, and quite frankly, if I kept up with my paperwork a bit better, it wouldn't be an issue. Will it turn on tomorrow? I don't know. All I know is, I expected at least a day and a half of shredding with cool down and what not and I was done in an hour. Maybe I just got a unicorn in the bunch, but I'm a happy girl.

Amazon 6-Sheet Criss-Cut Paper Office Shredder is exactly as described. This is a powerful machine and dies the job well. It has no more noise than previous shredders except it is more powerful. It fits nicely in a corner of the room near our printer. Overall very pleased and yes, this home machine is a worthwhile investment, plus, price is right!

After reading the reviews, I was carefully optimistic about this purchase. We have a small business and we had a lot of historical paperwork to shred. I wanted an automatic document feed shredder and this one fit the bill. In the 5 days since receiving the Amazon shredder, I have shredded stacks of paper. The automatic document feed works great. I put in stapled and unstapled pages, (I followed the directions and only placed the staples towards the front of the shredder) and so far no paper jams. The bin is a good size, I line it with a clear plastic bag to make bin changes easier/tidier. I can put in a stack of paper and leave the room, the shredder does the job while I'm gone.

I am quite happy with this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder. The first one I got came broken inside by the motor a spring came out of a plastic piece holing the spring in. I emailed Amazon and they shipped me out a new one with in one day and I got the new replacement a few days later. They did not even wait for me to return the broken shredder and I appreciate that very much. The new replacement shredder they sent me is a very good paper shredder. It is very powerful cuts through 24 sheets of paper like nothing, not even hesitating like some of the others I have had in the past. It is heavy and seems to be well built. The plastic parts are strong and thick and the cutting blades are big and steel and look strong. The motor seems to be a heavy-duty motor as when it starts and shuts down you can hear the power in it. I have shredded quite a few things with it and it does not bog down. I really like the manual switches as I preferer those to the digital buttons like I had on my last shredder; I think the manual switches will last longer. the bin is a little difficult putting it back into the machine as it has to go in perfectly or it won’t go in at all but I am sure I will get used to that and as time goes by, I am sure it will get easier to put back in. Another wonderful thing about this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder is the price; I got it on a very good sale almost half-price, none of the other brands go on for such a good sale price. I would highly recommend this Amazon Basics 24-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper shredder for small to large businesses and for home use as it seems to be of high quality and should last a long time. I am a big fan of Amazon Basics stuff as they all seem to be very good quality and the prices are very good also. Just a side note some people have said that it is not new as there is some shredded paper left at the bottom, but they all do all of my previous shredders that were brand new had shreds of paper at the bottom when I first opened them, they test them at the factory to make sure all is running properly, and that is why you will see some paper shreds at the bottom of the bin.
