Alba Botanica Intense Hydration Body Oil, with Kukui Nut and Viamin E, 8.5 Oz (Packaging May Vary)

I ordered this because I ran out of my usual lavender almond oil and because it is now height of summer and I have been spending a lot of time outside in the pool and sun tanning, I wanted something more tropical and a little more kick for soothing my sunned skin. A lot of sun products seem to contain Kukui oil... not sure why other than it is a tropical ingredient? I had purchased an after sun lotion on a trip t Florida a number of years ago from the stand by the hotel pool, after I got a sunburn on my first day :( I really loved the fragrance although I have had to stop using this lotion because as nice as it smells it always seems to flare up my eczema very badly. Anyway, this led me to search for other products that may have the same ingredients that give the lotion its distinctly tropical scent and being that the bottle says kukui oil I was like...word- when I found this. This doesn't really smell like the lotion but it does smell really good and in fact smells exactly like my Maui Babe Browning Lotion- which ALSO contains kukui oil. Now I know. The best way I can describe it.. (and I am NOT sure how "baby oil" is interpreted from the smell of this oil) is instant coffee. I always feel like I smell like Folgers instant coffee crystals after I have used my browning lotion and sometimes question if that is what the brown tint is in the formula lolol apparently the scent is from the kukui oil. It smells, to me, very tropical. Like a coconutty coffee concoction. The oil is a little thicker than my lavender oil which is perfect because I needed something stronger for being in my pool and stuff. It goes on nicely, smells great with a very light scent that is not strong or perfumy. A little goes a long way and the bottle arrived extra super wrapped with a protective film over the lid to prevent accidental spillage or leakage in shipping which I appreciated. It leaves my skin very soft and smooth. Because I have been spending so much time out in the heat, sun, humidity, sweating, wearing bug spray and sunscreen and sitting in chlorinated water and being perpetually wet from the hose and stuff my eczema is doing its usual beginning of summer weather reaction to all this and I flared up like crazy all over my thighs and arms last week. It is getting under control now but feel like this oil did NOT irritate my flare up at all and actually soothed it so that is a huge bonus. Straight coconut oil is my go-to normally but it was getting too greasy so now I have this.

I have used many body oils and my favorite for years has been Palmers and I swore by it! I stumbled upon this and decided to try it out as I was looking for something new as skin gets used to the same products and it’s effectiveness can be less over time. I gave this a try and holy cannoli, this stuff is amazing. Firstly, the smell is so nice. It’s a sweet nutty smell, but it doesn’t smell fake or overpowering. It’s divine and I love the way my skin smells after my shower. My skin is so soft to the touch, my fingers just glide across it. It feels like silk going on and absorbs pretty fast. It’s given my skin a nice glow and my legs look so smooth after shaving, with absolutely no “strawberry” skin! I love this oil. I was not expecting it to be better than Palmers, but it really does knock Palmers out of the park. **edit** went back to palmers. This stuff worked great at first, but then I noticed it not being as effective after a few months. Switched back to palmers body oil and I’m happy again. I’ll never stray again lol

I initially got this product to use as a moisturizing body oil. However when I looked up the benefits of it I started using it on my face. I have dry acne prone skin at the ripe age of 54....this stuff is amazing! When I first used it I felt that it would be too greasy or heavy to use as a moisturizer, but my skin loved it sucked it in and I lost that familiar itchy tightness I get after washing. I wait just a minute and it is fully absorbed and my skin looks nourished. To make things even better I do not seem to break out as much which was a concern with using an oil like this for my face. I use it every morning before I put my makeup on and every evening before bed. I am really loving not having the tightness of dry freshly washed skin. The bottle is an ok size, if I use it ONLY for my face it will last a while. If I use it on my body I cannot imagine it would be long lasting. The scent is pleasant almost non existent, at least I do not smell it for longer than a fleeting second. For a body oil i would prefer a stronger scent, but for my face perfect. I would definitely recommend this oil, hoping with time it might help with wrinkles but as of now I am grateful for the moisturizing.

This Alba Hawaiian Body Oil with Kukui Nut is fantastic for relieving dry skin, I'm applying it at the end of a shower then rinsing and done. It smells nice and lasts all day. However - I bought my previous bottle locally and it had the previous style flip-top cap, which didn't leak on me. The new one I got through Amazon has the central-hinged lid type where the spout pops up from inside and while the shipper had put a piece of scotch tape across the lid, that hadn't prevented oil from coating the bottle during shipping. I was lucky that it didn't contaminate my other mail. I'd advise opening packages immediately when you've ordered this stuff, to minimize the risk until they sort it out. TL;DR - The product is great, the way it's being shipped (or perhaps just the lid) needs work. Alba: please get those caps to stay shut during transit. :)

Item arrived quickly and with no issues. It was taped closed so thankfully no spillage. The oil is very hydrating and makes my skin very soft. It doesn’t have much of a smell and is a your typical transparent color of oil. I have noticed that with the daily usage over a week that my feet have become very soft.

After I shower, I always do my face skincare prior to putting moisturizer all over my body. So, I was looking for a body oil to apply right after my shower, so my body felt at least a little moisturized during the 10-15 minutes I was doing skincare. For reference, the skin all over my body is on the slightly drier side and I have very mild eczema. I use a few drops for each section of my body while my skin is still damp. I find it smooths over pretty easily, but I’m still conscious to not rub or tug too hard. I then put on a soft robe on which helps the oil to soak in and trap moisture into my skin while I do other things until I can put on body lotion. Overall, I do feel like this does a great job at making my skin feel softer and more hydrated, especially now that the colder months are here. There are only 2 things I don’t like about this product: 1) the scent is more like cocoa butter which I don’t like and usually avoid in products. I guess I was hoping for a more coconut/tropical scent. 2) I feel like this may have caused me to breakout just a little bit—like a pimple here or there on my back or arms. After I apply my lotion, I feel to need to apply a body acne spray. I’m going to try using slightly lesser oil going forward to alleviate the problem as well.

I prefer body oils to heavier creams in the summer, but finding one that absorbs quickly without leaving residue, has a smell I like, and doesn't leave me ashy in a couple of hours is pretty difficult. I had seen this oil advertised in a surf magazine, and decided to give it a try because it just sounded very appealing, and my Neutrogena body oil was doing absolutely nothing for me. It has a rich texture, but it won't pool in the folds of your skin. You don't need as much as you probably think; a couple of drops in your hands and it spreads beautifully. It absorbs relatively quickly - about 10-15 minutes fresh out the shower. It also has a delicious, soft, hazelnut coffee and coconut macaroons scent. The scent does not linger on the skin or clothes, and it won't stain, either, unless you're dousing yourself lol. I've seen a big improvement in my skin already in about 2 days of use: skin feels supple after showering, something that rarely ever happens for me, has a luminous, smooth appearance, and just seems less irritated/flaky, especially on my calves where where I have a tendency to develop alligator skin. The dry patches on my heels are slowly fading. Oh, and it's a soothing after shave treatment to calm razor burnt skin.

Really lovely emollient, it works very well after a shower...keeps the moisture in the skin. It's main ingredient is sunflower oil, it's a good ingredient, but I wouldn't mind it having more nut oil to justify the kukui oil title. I like the richness of it, it's not a light oil, but does sink into the skin quite quickly. It smells delicious, rather like mild German gingerbread biscuits, very edible! My cats also love the smell and taste of it :) There are also no nasty ingredients in it to cause problems, so I'm happy.

Es muy bueno, súper hidratante, se absorbe rápidamente y no da la sensación de grasiento. Lo utiliza mi chico que al tener pelos, no le gusta las cremas y con esto esta súper contento.

Dieses Öl riecht sehr gut ist angenehm zu tragen, es ist nicht ölig auf der Haut, was ich persönlich nicht so mag. Die Verpackung könnte fester sein, die Ware rutschte fast durch.Auch die Ware an sich ein bisschen besser umwickelt.
