It is not compliant with the Safe Water Drinking Act for low-lead fixtures. This item is not intended to for use with potable (human consumption) water systems. **Q: are the inlet threads tapered?** A: stander plumbing treads 3/4 inch no not tapered any pipe or pvc just use tape **Q: Haveing troubles getting the valve to shut off completely. Do you have any tips for proper adjustment? Water feeds from the bottom of a stock tank.** A: If there is enough upward pressure on the float lever...it should shut off unless rubber seal is damaged. It takes some pressure....but usually the float will be only partially submerged when valve shuts off for me. However...I do not have high pressure in my line. It feeds from a pond with only about a 4 foot head...less than 18 lbs pressure, I believe.
