MUSIC IS JUST AS GOOD BACK WHEN WE FIRST HEARD THEM ON THE RADIO:
The oldie but goodies music never grows old. Just as good as when we first. heard them on the radio. If you're into today's sound than that's fine. But give the old time rock n' roll! This CD shows why good quality music never dies.

The Soundtrack Of The Spring & Summer Of '72!
This set takes me back to my juvenile days while living in Gillette, NJ with my family. These were the songs I was exposed to on AM radio at the time. Not only that, I also had one of the products featured on the cover-The Panasonic Toot-A-Loop Am Radio in yellow. That was also one of two things I bought with my allowance money in the summer of '72[The other was a copy of The Partridge Family Sound Magazine album-That's another story]. This volume was one I never purchased on cassette when Rhino Records issued this series before I got a CD player in 1992 since vinyl got scarce and I was getting desperate for a CD player was tired of getting cassette copies of then-current releases. I'm glad I got this volume now on CD which contains two bonus tracks-"The Candy Man" from Sammy Davis,, Jr.[Had this on 45 back then] and "Motorcycle Mama" by Sailcat. My other favorites on this collection are "Hot Rod Lincoln" by Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen; "Day By Day" from Godspell[I also had this on 45 back then as well]; "Hold Your Head Up" by Argent; "Sylvia's Mother" by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show(Written by children's author Shel Silverstein); "Nice To Be With You" by Gallery; "How do You Do?" by Mouth & MacNeal; "Alone Again(Naturally)" by Gilbert O'Sullivan, the Irish version of Paul McCartney.Rounding out this collection is "Run Run Run" by Jo Jo Gunne; "In A Broken Dream" by Python Lee Jackson and "We've got To Get It On Again" by The Addrisi Brothers, who gave us the theme to Nanny And The Professor, which was one of my favorite Friday night sitcoms that the ABC network had to offer[Give me Juliet Mills for a "Nanny" than Fran Drescher anyday!] .I got this particular volume now because Rhino has deleted this series from their catalog and it was all they had left at reasonable price. The one reason I previously had other volumes on cassette was because back in the early '90s I felt slightly embarrassed about some of those selections on CD whereas now you have no choice because cassettes are obsolete. So for those of you who have this volume or any other volumes of this series whether on cassette or CD-HANG ON TO THEM! You'll never get another series like this again. Keep your musical memories alive.

Some excellent songs
Some excellent songs and a couple that I don't like at all. Not very many songs overall.

the obscure and the familiar
"How Do You Do?" is a duet by Dutch singers that charted in July '72; inasmuch as it's European, I guess, it ain't easy to locate in the here and now, but Rhino Records rode to the rescue (but even they - via the liner notes - deem the song "innocuous" and "empty-headed"); naturally, there're other selections (e.g. "Nice To Be With You" by Gallery) among the dozen that're significantly more familiar, for good or ill..
