Sturdy stand that saves your back on job sites
Why I ordered this item: We do enough job site cutting that I got tired of setting our miter saw on stacked buckets and sawhorses. Wanted something that folds up and travels in the truck without needing two guys to lift it. Likes: * This thing is light. One person can carry it and toss it in the truck bed without throwing their back out. * The rail extends out a long way. I had a 12 foot board on there with room to spare and it didn't sag or feel wonky. * Setup is fast. The leg lock levers just snap and you're up and cutting in under a minute. * The work stops slide anywhere on the rail and clamp down tight. Handy for cutting a bunch of studs to the same length without measuring every single one. * Mounting brackets fit our saw fine even though it's not a DeWalt. Bolted right on without needing to drill new holes or jury-rig anything. No likes: * The feet are kind of flimsy on soft or uneven ground. On dirt or gravel it wants to rock a little until you find flat spots for all four legs. * Folding it back down takes more fiddling than setting it up. The extension lock levers get a little screwy if you don't collapse things in the right order. * No saw included, obviously, but worth saying since some folks seem to expect one. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: It saves your back and folds down small enough to fit behind the truck seat. Good for anyone hauling a saw between job sites regularly. Just don't expect it to sit level on rough ground without moving the legs around a few times to get it right.

Love this stand! Rugged and big
There are a lot of things to love about this miter saw stand, and only a couple of drawbacks: pros: Rugged - you would have to work hard to loosen it - the legs have a large snap-in key and are sturdy. The levers to fold up the legs are large and thus are easy to depress. Easy to put together - basically, you just unfold the legs. Even when you have a non-standard (meaning non DeWalt) saw it isn't that difficult. I put my little 30 year old Makita sliding compound miter saw on with probably 2 hours of work total. I had to cut a piece of plywood, and because I wanted it to be nice, I sanded it and put on a couple coats of polyurethane. Then attached the brackets and the saw - about 1/2 hour all together including measuring. If it is a DeWalt saw, it will fit the brackets directly. Although it is nice to have that extra room to put stuff, so the plywood is useful. The directions to do this are very clear, by the way. Both sides of this stand extend making it suitable for decking and other projects that require long stock. Cons: The stops they provide are OK, but they are pretty small and if you are working with 2 x 12 or 4 x 4 (on my saw I need to put a backer board against the fence as the saw small and the blade is in the way). So I bought the BIG 12" versions - 1 roller and one 'stop'. Should have gotten 2 rollers as I find them far more useful. I don't rely on the stops for this stand. I'll probably toss the 6" ones that came with the stand. Here's the roller that fits it: DEWALT DW7027 Wide Roller Material Support Works great and you don't have to add as many quarters to the swear jar when the wider stock slips off the narrow 6" stops they provide. I put a couple of cinder-blocks under the legs and lay a 2 x 12 across them as a storage place for squares, pencils, kitchen sinks. You know how it is. This works especially well as I leave the saw out near my projects and just keep the stand and saw covered with a tarp, thus keeping my tools high and dry as well. Can't think of any other negatives.

DEWALT Miter Saw Stand, 500 lb Capacity
I am extremely satisfied with the DEWALT Miter Saw Stand (DW). This stand is a game-changer when it comes to portability and convenience for my miter saw. The stand is impressively lightweight, making it easy to transport and set up at different job sites. Despite its lightweight design, it has a robust 500 lb capacity, ensuring stability and durability even when handling heavy materials. One of the standout features of this stand is the leg locks, which allow for quick and effortless setup. The leg lock mechanism securely holds the stand in place, providing a sturdy foundation for accurate and precise cuts. It saves me valuable time and effort during setup and breakdown. The construction of this stand is top-notch, as expected from DEWALT. It is built to withstand tough job site conditions and frequent use. The materials used are of high quality, ensuring the stand's longevity and reliability over time. Additionally, the stand offers excellent versatility. It can accommodate a wide range of miter saws, making it compatible with different models and brands. The adjustable support arms provide added flexibility, allowing for easy customization to suit the specific needs of my projects. Overall, the DEWALT Miter Saw Stand (DW) has exceeded my expectations. Its lightweight and portable design, along with the leg locks for easy setup, make it a valuable tool for any professional or DIY enthusiast. I highly recommend this stand to anyone in need of a reliable and convenient solution for their miter saw setup.

IF YOU OWN A DEWALT MITER SAW THEN YOU NEED THIS
a premium, well built unit. PRETTY EASY TO SET UP. THE HEIGHT IS PERFECT FO ME. IT REALLY ADDS THAT TOUCH OF PRO FEELING TO ANY DIY NOOB. IT ADD VALUE TO YOUR MITER SAW. YOU CAN TELL THEY WERE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER. I WOULD SAY TO ANYONE WITH A DEALT MITER TO GET ONE OF THESE. THIS ON EIS ON THE BIGGER SIDE BUT IF YOU DONT HAVE THE SPACE FOR IT THEN GO AHEAD AND GET THE COMPACT VERSION BUT THIS ONE IS PRETTY AWESOME. MUY ONLY DIASPPOINMENT IS THE FACT THAT I HAD TO BUY IT SEPARATELY AND THAT IT DIDNT COME WITH THE SAW AS A KIT.

Another glowing review
Like most of the reviews here; this will be positive. I'll preface that I'd picked up a cheap other-brand stand for my new Dewalt DW718, which I had previously mounted to a table. With the no-name brand the whole thing went backside-over-teakettle after pulling a bolt through whatever cheap metal that was. So I had some trepidation repeating that, even with the Dewalt branded item. Concerns were not worthy; the stand was worth the price of admission. For Dewalt products it's as easy as a bolt-on job to the arms. NOTE: THE ARMS COME WITH THE STAND. THE STOPS COME WITH THE STAND. It's all included but some vague copy makes everything sound a la carte. As far as function; it's on the easier side. The device arms are convenient and easy to maneuver to center if you need to, but with the length of the stand you probably won't have to. The stops themselves are adjustable both as stops or fold down to allow you to work with more material. Generally I've found with crown moulding that you need all the length on one side that you can get. The stand accommodates this without a hiccup or loss of balance. Realistically I'm kicking myself for not picking this product up sooner. It's light, it's strong, it appears durable, and is very maneuverable to task.

Good Stand For A Mobile Workshop!
I've used this miter stand quite a bit now and feel I have a pretty good feeling for it's strengths and shortcomings. I was doing a bit of a shop re-organization and refresh in 2013 and wanted to do something about my miter station, which was really just a simple shop table I'd built a few years ago. I was strongly considering building an enhanced miter station, but considered this as a relatively inexpensive option that might work as well. It just so happened that a pretty good sale came along for this unit and that was the decider right there...my material costs in a custom built stand would exceed the cost of a relatively ready-to-go solution. So I pulled the trigger. Overall, I'm very pleased with the stand. Paired up with my DeWalt miter saw, I've cut short and long lengths quite extensively with it and have had few issues. I really like that it can extend quite a ways out there and will easily handle 12, 16 and even 20 foot lengths with ease. It's very sturdy and leaves a lot of open space that can be used otherwise, an important feature in my relatively compact wood shop where every cubic foot counts. The height of the saw is at a very comfortable level for me, so no issues there. The unit is relatively light weight and therefore easily moved around. The saw can be easily removed for storage, if needed, and the unit folds up into a nice, compact design. Although I rarely tear down my miter station, this has come in handy a couple times and far exceeds what I might have been able to achieve with a custom built miter stand. I don't have any concerns about the craftsmanship, materials or operation of the stand whatsoever. Now, the drawbacks. As has been stated before in other reviews, the stops are flimsy and don't stop the wood with precision. This is a bit irritating since you're usually relying on these stops to get repeated cuts with absolute precision. If you're not careful, you can get a bit of variance when you push the wood up against the stop (up to around 1/8"), which is easily the difference between a cut fitting or not. I wrenched down on the hardware and it doesn't completely eliminate the play. I've found ways to work with the issue, so it's not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice if DeWalt had thought this through a bit more. The other drawback is that there is a space between the saw itself and the stop where you can't get a good cutting stop. (I don't recall the exact length, but it's somewhere around 12 to 16 inch cuts where you can't get a good stop.) I've had to solve this with some creative clamping and such, so again not a deal breaker, but I was hoping a commercial solution wouldn't have issues I could likely solve in a self-built solution. Looking back, I am glad I made the purchase and the mobility/storage option definitely makes me glad I purchased this over building my own miter station. The drawbacks to the design do have solutions, so it's workable...but DeWalt definitely loses a star for the lack of precision stops, a pretty big oversight in my opinion since it fails to perform it's desired function accurately. Overall, I'd recommend this stand...but see if you can get it on a good sale!

An Excellent Purchase For Our Shop
I bought this for my husband for his birthday in June so we've been using it for around 3 months. I also purchased this: DEWALT DW7029 Wide Miter Saw Stand Material Support and Stop after reading some reviews that it was helpful in stabilizing wider pieces. It's a great set-up and I have no regrets about the decision to purchase it. I was debating about the portable, collapsible saw stand but am glad that I chose this one. It was pretty simple to set up, just attaching the included mounting brackets to the saw and then moving it to the easily set up base. The brackets slide over the rail and snap in place. The stand didn't look as though it would be solid and sturdy enough (to me) to hold the saw but it certainly is. The extra material support that I also purchased slid on the support arm and tightened down securely. It was nice to have the end of the workbench back too, although it quickly was filled up again. There's never enough horizontal space! We are weekend builders, so this hasn't gotten the regular use that tradesmen would give it. It is a very much appreciated saw stand, however, and relieves the frequent battle we had with space. We had the floor space to place it in so it's been a winning purchase for us. If we have any more to add as we continue to use this, I will update my review. Edit- We've had this for a year now and my husband has commented about how much easier it is for him to use his saw, thanks to this stand. Being able to place it in the "open" with this stand allows him more flexibility with the longer pieces of wood that he cuts. The supports do droop a bit the farther they go out, but that's to be expected, isn't it? You will need stationary stands for more reliable height control. The stand folds easily and conveniently to transport. The saw removes quickly and easily too, once the brackets are attached. Love it, and would purchase again!

Top of the line!
I've used several of these over the years, and I must say that dewalt have addressed most of the quirks and niggles in this latest iteration. First of, it comes fully pre-assembled in the box, which is very useful, all you need to do is slide in the included adjustable mounts and bolt the included brackets to your saw and you're done, ready to go in minutes, literally! As for the little improvements; the old style stand had leg locking pins you had to push in to release, now, they've added rear mounted levers that "pull-in" the pins for much easier handling (and avoiding the ol nipping at you fingertips); small improvement, huge difference! Also, the locking of the extension beams used to be done with an awkwardly placed knob, which has now been replaced by a lever that's much easier to operate, again, small improvements... Overall very pleasantly surprised ; I was expecting the good ol' tried and true "built like a tank" stand, I actually got the "new and improved" version. Awesome. These are built to last, the heft and feel of the thing simply exudes quality and sturdiness. This is the one to get. Slight addition: this thing is huge at over 6 feet long even folded, which might be a concern for someone planning to move it around often from site to site, or with limited storage/cargo space when not in use. The dwx724 is the exact same heavy-duty stand in a 4 feet version that's much easier to store away or lug around... So unless you are planning to use it for lengthy material on a regular basis, you may want to make your life a little easier by going with the "shorty"...

When you want the best mitre stand
This is the best stand, sturdy and strong with the ability to add attachments to even do more. I own a heavy duty double compound 12 inch dual rail sliding Milwaukee miter saw, but this is the stand to support it. It is large for those big jobs, and can support a lot of weight and do it easy. Quality build, well thought out design, there is no contest when it comes to which mitre stand to buy.
