Badia Pepper Cayenne, 16 Ounces

I buy this Cayenne Pepper mostly to use in my potted plants to keep the squirrels from digging and making a mess. It works as long as I stay consistent. It’s smells strong and fresh and keeps the animals out of my pots. This large container is a great value and I’ll keep buying it.

I was looking for a LOT of pepper and a few other items in my attempt to get rid of a yard rodent. Dang gophers have messed up the lawn and flower bed and I can’t get rid of them. So I purchased this, powder garlic, a bunch of ground black pepper and a few rodent smoke bombs! The smoke bombs don’t work on their own as I’ve discovered... but they work amazing at helping find the tunnel system. First I uncover a hole that clearly leads down into the system. Light it off, toss it in and grab my leaf blower for a little encouragement. Next thing you know, there’s smoke blowing out of a bunch of different holes 15-20 feet away! I carefully measure out generous and random amounts of each ingredient while pouring them straight out of the bags and into the opening. It helps to have a teaspoon handy... to push it all down further! Then, I followed it up by sticking my trusty cordless leaf blower down the hatch, to disperse my recipe throughout the little buggers un-permitted domicile. You want to let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes while you continue to hold the power trigger. It smelled wonderful! Surely this pest of a rodent would find it in his best interest to pack his bags and find a different place in this vast world to set up shop... maybe somewhere with dirt that didn’t smell like and taste like spicy restaurant takeout. A few days would tell if my attempts were fruitful... I returned the following morning to check in on my venture... surely any bucked tooth dirt eater in their right mind would give up by now... this is literally the land of the free for these vermin... it would be easy to find somewhere he could live in peace... somewhere he doesn’t need to fight for... somewhere not at the entrance for my business. As I take in the morning air by taking a deep breath... I can tell that my cooking has stewed properly. I get hungry... but first, I must check for new mounds to ensure I have a picky eater or at least have partially blinded his senses making him unable to create further havoc. With a heavy heart... after two more attempts to uproot this guy using the remainder of my spices... I have to admit... I’ve lost the battle. It would seem... that ground pepper, cayenne, garlic powder... and smoke bombs... are useless at defeating what I can only describe as giant furry dirt cockroaches... just as useless as the previous 12 rodent smoke bombs, gopher poison and uses less as the exhaust pipe out of a 1996 Chevy Van. The pepper though... seems like a good value.

I just received the product. I cannot, at this time, make a review. It arrived on time and was well packaged. The only thing that concerns me is the plastic container. It is quite thin. If one drops it onto the kitchen floor, there is a good chance the container would not survive the impact.

I needed a lot of Cheyenne Pepper to keep the squirrels away from my flower bulbs, and this was the greatest value I could find. Worked like a charm. It came packaged nicely and had a tamper proof seal on it to keep it fresh. It is potent enough to keep the squirrels away, and I made the mistake of using the leaf blower in the area a few days later….it was still potent enough that I could taste pepper in the air lol. It smells like burning. It also tastes good. I used in a batch of chili, and it is the perfect amount of spice. It’s a lot of bang for your buck, and I will buy again when needed.
