Dallas traffic is a competitive sport where the only rule is to be as close to the bumper in front of you as physically possible. I am a fast driver. I drive faster than most people on the road. Yet, no matter how fast I go, there is always someone behind me trying to read the fine print on my registration sticker. I decided I needed a way to communicate my personal space requirements without using hand gestures. I found this forklift safety light and had a vision. It is designed to warn warehouse workers of danger, so I figured it could warn aggressive commuters of me. The light arrived and it is a serious piece of industrial equipment. It feels solid and durable, built to survive a warehouse environment, which is almost as dangerous as DNT. I didn't put it on a forklift. Instead, I wired it directly into my car's default brake light circuit. The installation took a bit of creativity and some wire strippers, but I got it mounted securely past the underneath of my rear bumper. During the day, you can’t really see it. I was a little worried it wouldn't be effective. Then the sun went down. I hit the brakes for the first time that night and the result was spectacular. A bright, intense red line appeared on the pavement 5 feet behind my car. It looked like a laser beam cutting through the darkness. The car behind me, which had been practically towing me, immediately backed off. It was as if I had deployed a force field. They saw the red zone and instinctively understood that they were not invited into it. I said that "you need to get way off my back" and they said to themselves, "Let me get off that thing." This light works exactly as advertised, just in a completely different context. It creates a highly visible boundary that demands respect. At night, it cuts through the glare of headlights and streetlamps with ease. It effectively communicates to the drivers of Dallas that while I may be fast, I still need my personal bubble. If you are tired of people inspecting your rear bumper at highway speeds, this light sends a very clear message. It keeps the danger area clear, whether you are moving pallets or navigating rush hour.

I bought this to use as an e-bike rear light. I will probably modify it so it doesn't focus into a beam, as it is blindingly bright when pointed at you. I ran it on a battery charged to 58.8V. it draws 20 to 30W, as advertised. I like that it can be used over a wide range of voltages. It can run off a 9v battery, but it starts to dim when run at voltages below it's rating, or when run off of a battery with insufficient current rating.

Great item for price. That saying the mounting setup for these is horrible. You almost require a child to hold retaining nut inside cutout.
