Great Fit, Comfort, and Performance for its Price
This is my fourth pair of AVIA 5020 running shoes over the last three years; sometimes when you find something that works you stick with it. Fit: Having slightly wider feet than the norm, I usually have to resort to E, EE widths shoes, but these (medium width) fit perfectly. etc. widths. Almost all other brands of medium width (the norm) are usually too narrow for me. Performance: I use them for cross training - running 2-3 miles / 3 times per week, along with weight training the other 4 days. I don't log a lot of miles running so they suit me just fine. I own a Cleaning Service and wear them the remainder of the time...So yes, I practically live in these most of the year. Comfort: Like I said, I spend most of my time in them. Durability: No more or no less than any other athletic shoe - average. Like all sneakers, I tend to step into them without untying the laces, often crushing the back heel. This results in the internal structure breaking in short order, creating "sharp" plastic poking into your ankle. If your like me and can't be bother untying the laces, take time to use your fingers as a "shoe-horn" to avoid crushing the back of the shoe. If you do this, they'll last until the tread falls off. Value: As good as it gets. Sure I've owned eighty plus dollar athletic shoes, some being more durable with possibly slightly more comfortable and greater support, but....It reminds me of a story. I was talking to a wine connoisseur about his experience drinking that $100 plus dollar bottle of wine, "Yes it was fantastic, but it wasn't eighty dollars better than the twenty dollar variety.

Nice, comfortable, inexpensive shoe
I usually wear Nike running shoes with air components in the front and back. I bought the AVIA's as an inexpensive but comfortable, supportive everyday shoe. This is my first pair of AVIAs and I would recommend them. We'll see how they hold up in the long run. I took the advice of several people on Amazon who recommended ordering a half size larger than my normal shoe size and they were right on. I only give them 4 stars because they are so new and I haven't worn them for a long time at this point. For the price (compared to what I normally pay for my shoes), they are a bargain so far. CKP

Great Sneaker
I have been buying Avia sneakers for the past 6 years. I am an avid runner ... I run up to 13 miles at a time and these sneaker hold up better than more expensive ones I've tried. They fit true to size and the break in period is relative short. Since I found these, I have never even bothered trying a different brand. You do not have to spend lots of money to get a nice sneaker.

Avia A5020M shoes review
Excellent running shoes. I use it in the gym and running. Pros: 1. Very good quality materials. 2. Sturdy construction. 3. Extremely comfortable. 4. Good arch support. 5. Removable insole. 6. Great for running/walking around. Cons: 1. Not the best looking shoes. 2. Feels bulky. 3. Not enough colour options. Summary: If you are looking for function, these shoes are excellent buy. Great quality, comfort, good construction.

Wrong Size, Very Smal
Very small. I Cant'n Use. Lost the money. very narrow, it bothers to heel and front, support feels run. I do not recommend it, AVIA does not seem original.

Quality Is Not Great
I have worn AVIA shoes for a number of years. They seem to fit my feet like a glove and are extremely comfortable. They aren't readily available in stores, so I buy them online. This pair is not so great. There is a decorative strip along the sole which ends in a little emblem on the inside arch of the shoe. Almost immediately, both of these emblems came loose and started to flap alongside. My family saw this and joked that they looked like curb-feelers. I recently pulled them off as much as possible, cutting them at the end, so they wouldn't trip me up. That's how bad they were. One of them was like a loose shoelace. I am a little disappointed with this pair, for this reason. They still feel good, and are comfortable, but to have parts of the shoe just start falling off, after only two weeks of wear, seems a little chintzy and off to me.

Repeat customer
I prefer either ASIC, Saucony, or Avia. Avia are the least expensive. I wore this model to run a marathon and they worked fine. They can double as tennis shoes and I haven't (yet) sprained an ankle. The toes don't seem to wear out as fast as shoes made for tennis. The size fit was consistent with other brands I've used (Nike, Adidas, Saucony, ASIC, New Balance). I'm not that big (170) and have a pretty neutral (albeit flat) foot, so I like these because they don't have a lot of "motion control." Also I only run about 12-15 miles per week so these may not be as good for bigger or higher mileage runners.

Typical good Avia running shoe
If you liked the Avia 217 or the 239, you will like the A5020m. It provides good support and wears evenly. It distributes shock throughout the shoe so no one part of the foot gets too much impact. I walk/run six to seven miles a day. These shoes will probably last about nine months at that rate. I recommend ordering one half size larger than street shoes for any Avia sports shoe. They tend to run a little small. This a good shoe and is a great value.
