Perfect for my music room equipment
This works perfectly for my situation. I have a music room with lots of electronic gadgets wired all over the place. Each of these has knobs and controls. I do some home recording and have a lot of effects pedals, a PA, amplifiers, and sheet music on a stand and in a binder, as well as a CD player and a collections of CDs.The room has adequate light for seeing, playing instruments, reading the sheet music, but there is a lot of manipulation of small controls, often black on black or with tiny print.I needed a light that could stand beside microphone stands, be easy to turn on and flexible so I could direct it at whatever I was manipulating. This works great for all of the above. It has a weighted stand, a gooseneck, and holds an ordinary compact fluorescent bulb (100 W equivalent) for plenty of light and a stable base. The cord that comes out about 18" from the floor is at just the right height so I don't have to fish around on the floor, and it's not one of those wheel switches, but a more sturdy rocker switch. It could, I suppose, have the switch at the actual light, but this is fine as well. The head stays put when moved. The only improvement (for me) would have been adjustable height on the stand, like the microphone stands it sits next to. However, it is bright enough that when I aim it at the floor (for effects pedals) it gi9ves plenty of light.

Bends at Top
This is a great little reading lamp for a very reasonable price. It looks nice next to a char and bends down to where you like it for reading. I put it together myself without any tools. The instructions were clear and helpful in putting together the lamp part. the rest needed no instructions at all. I am enjoying this lamp next to my chair in my living room. I actually purchased this to try it as a heat lamp for my mom who has some strained muscles in her leg.I purchased a heat lamp bulb and put it into this. It did not bend down enough to get heat on her leg when she was lying in her bed. Only the top 8 inches actually bend so the bend is 45 inches from the floor. It looked from the description that there was a larger area of bend to it. Although it did not work for what I had in mind I am enjoying it as a reading lamp.

Looking good and working well
I've had the lamp for a week now, so have no info on durability yet.It looks very nice (exactly like the picture actually),and is working just fine and doing everything I hoped it would do.The bottom of the light hood (when facing downwards) is 3.5' (42") high.It seems pretty sturdy for a REALLY skinny 4' high floor lamp.Stands reasonably sturdy for something with such a small footprint.Could a 10 year old kid destroy it by falling on it wrong! Yep. Absolutely. It worked well with a 150W equivalent CFL bulb, but that is a BIG bulband stuck out the bottom of the hood by a half inch. I've switchedto the 1100 lumen ecoLight LED bulb I bought from Amazon and that is perfect.Lots of light, and instant on, and sits well inside the hood. The only"issue" is that big LED light weighs about 5 times as much as a CFL orstandard 100W bulb, and the lamp neck tends to droop just a little under theheavier load.Bottom line for me: I like it. I'm glad I bought it. I wouldrecommend it to friends and relatives, or even strangers!

Great little reading lamp that is attractive, too...
I got this lamp for my husband who likes to sit in our one recliner and read. This lamp puts out a perfect amount of lighting for him as well as it is light-weight enough to move about easily. The bendable top area of the lamp is great; one can adjust the lamp up, down or sideways to accommodate the requirement of where to place the light source. Having the switch on the upper cord is handier than having a switch on the upper portion of the lamp; the reader can easily turn it off or on, as required, without having to get up from the recliner to do so. The lamp is attractive, blending well with our other satin nickel furnishings and with our modern setting. The price was very good, well worth the expenditure!

Strong baseplate...flimsy bad quality centre post
The centre post/stem is 95% thinner than the 2017 model it is now reduced super thin flimsy 1/4 inch aluminium,,,it if falls over or gets a bump, it will crincle and you can throw the whole lot away...it is flimsy beyond belief...the base is wider than the older model and is super heavy, but 2 of the bases had big dents on the side and the other had 3 ding marks on the top face....These were damaged at the Ikea factory because the Ikea outer cardboard packaging was very substantial, and the bases stil also had strong secondary wraparound card cover well secured..It is almost impossible for this damage have occured at The Amazon facility...I bought 3 units & Ammazon outer box was big & strong....Delivery from USA to South Africa was super fast...like 11 days from time of order to being in my house in Africa...unbelievible service.... Overall the weight of the bases keep the lamp upright...excellent quality...but the centre post is worst quality you will ever find....assembly instructions included, but is very basic and very easy to assemble...but centre post is so flimsy & thin if you strip the threads or kink the 2 posts it they are not 1000% in linewith each other as you screw them together...then you will have to chuck the away...This lamp needs to be put in a quiet corner and moved as little as possible........ The free 4 Watt globe shines pale yellow and is so weak...I binned it immediatly just rubbish quality

Poor product
Amazed that after a couple of months use the plastic retaining ring holding the metal hood melted. Cheap non heat resistant plastic used in this lamp makes it dodgy at best and dangerous at worst.

Although the base is of good weight, it can't stop the leaning
Once assembled, the stalk leans to one side. Although the base is of good weight, it can't stop the leaning, basically, the threaded ends of the uprights are too short. For 20 quid it's ok but could easily have been made better for the sake of a few pence.

elegant, easy assembly, fit for use
Writing this after 6 months in daily use: easy assembly, nice look, apparently robust. Have bought two-provides light to both table and as reading light by winged chair. Nice design, good price/quality. Pay attention to lightbulb specs.

Lovely compact floor lamp. Easy to assemble but please note it does NOT come with a bulb. Well worth the money.
