These were a cheap version of what I wanted. I have an electric drill that gets one of the drill bits stuck, a team of 3 mechanics had to use tools to get this out for me with the use of their tools. Was impossible to undo by hand but with a good grip with these it was suddenly easy to undo. Have never used a tool like this before but am really happy with the grip and were easy to use. Saved me buying a new drill, am sure they have more common practical uses but worked well for what I needed.

Good grips

Very reasonable for the price (£14.95), appear durable enough for most jobs, but obviously nothing very demanding on a regular basis. The metal finish in areas is not perfect, but this is merely a cosmetic issue. Good value in my opinion. (Review based on two weeks ownership)

Have used these for a while now and they show no signs of wear on their teeth or clenching ability. Any job they have been used on, they have performed well. They all still lock very well. They feel strong.

Cheap and cheerful, but they do the job. The finish is pretty rough but they do work. I’m not sure if they would survive long in a workshop or garage but I wanted some cheap and basic pliers to leave in the caravan. Can’t fault the price and the little sleeve style bag keeps them together. Not the choice for a mechanic or semi professional but for the basic homeowner/ DIY er a cost effective purchase.

Brilliant

Bought these at short notice and was not expecting them to last more than a day or two but I was surprised how good they actually are. However, the rubber handle covers are just a gimmick, proved dangerous and slip very easily so we removed them very quickly. Pleased with the carry roll they come in though which keeps them all together and to hand. Overall a well-made product for the price.

I have given this item a 3 star review because they are cheap and flimsy. There is so much slop in the needle nose set that they are completely unusable due to the lower jaw moving sideways and the whole unit then twisting to the side when trying to clamp them down. The smallest pair simply does not stay locked, when you clamp them on an object they seem to lock ok but if you take your hand off them they just spring back open. It doesn't matter how tight you clamp them they always spring back open. The only reason they got 3 stars instead of 1 was because the 2 larger pairs seem to work ok. So my 4 piece set of vice grips turned out to be a useable 2 piece set. My advice would be spend your money on a much better pair, you won't regret it.
