It snapped in my hand!! What kind of cheap metal is this??
Update Mar 27, 2017I contacted the seller via amazon.com and promptly received a full refund. I am leaving the historic reviews for reference. The item itself stays at 1 star. Seller and customer service: 5 stars. ThanksUpdate Jan 25, 2017 (1 star)It broke!!. The metal spring snapped in my hand while I was exercising. Super disappointed now!! The setting was at 50-60 lbs equivalent. I might have done about 250 hand compressions that session. My arm was not in good shape since I have not been using it the past 2-3 weeks... But prior to this, I used it on and off maybe twice a week since I bought it in Dec and was quite pleased with my results. Down to one star since it's of no use now. I will contact the company for a replacement. Here's a picture to see where the metal spring broke. My Previous review (4 stars):I like it, but I had to grow calluses because the gray rubber grip is quite tough on my fingers. It would be great if one of the handles can slightly pivot to allow free and natural movement when closing the fist. In fact, I can only grip it (and I use it a lot) with my fingertips. I did not have these issues with my solenoid hand grip. It's not broken yet as I was afraid it might based on other products' reviews. I'm still quite happy with my purchase. The stress balls are a nice bonus, I keep one at the office.

Relieves Painful Muscle Cramping in Hands
Out of the blue one night, my husband awoke with the most painful muscle cramps in his hands. We're talking unrelenting pain. His doctor said the x-rays showed "mild-to-moderate arthritis" from decades of abuse in the construction industry. There isn't a "magic pill" to stop his muscle cramps and we don't want to depend on "pills" either. We looked to other forms of therapy. He’s tried bands, balls, you name it with no lasting positive results. Next on the list was a Hand Grip Strengthener. I purchased one (from another seller), and it worked! He found that squeezing the grips for a couple of hours nightly did the job. Then, the grip broke apart after just 4 months use! Unbelievable! This time, I looked for someone to "guarantee" their product and Fitness Insanity advertises a "lifetime guarantee" with these grips. I bought two this time, one for each hand. (When it comes time to replace the grips, I hope we don't experience any hassles.) He says these grips are the only things that relieves the pain in his hands.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. So let me start off by saying some things really are all the same. This grip and the squeeze balls are of great quality and very nice but not much different than most you can fin elsewhere. What set this apart was the company. Soon as I ordered, I received for free e-books that told me how to use them an the benefits from it. They let me know that if I had any questions, they were there to help. I wanted that right out front. Our entire family has been using this, even my youngest who is 11 years old. He has been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis and he has to do exercises like this. I have been using it for my RA as well. My older sons had been using a grip that was so old it had rusted. They were thrilled to have this one. Its just nothing bad to say about this and EVERYONE should own one. I started out having to use one after carpel tunnel surgery. They had told me I should have been using it before and it might not have gotten so bad. The entire family should be using this

Get a grip!
I suppose it isn't perfect, but it's close. Good product, works as advertised, includes a nice draw string bag which is not pictured with the product. While there is some plastic included in the part, it seems durable. Probably the weakest point is the adjustment mechanism, but while the adjustment knob is plastic, the rod/screw used is metal. Adjustments are not precise, but this probably isn't needed by most users. The spring appears to be of good quality. Do note that the grips will leave your hands with a slight rubber smell, it's not strong though and probably could be reduced with time/washing. I have pretty good size hands and these fit okay, though if you're of the extra extra large variety, you might be a finger short on the grips. My pinky just barely fits all the way on if I've got my index flush with the top.Obviously these are not designed for working your fingers individually. When you order they'll send you some PDFs, one of which gives details on how to use the hand grippers. The two balls included are pretty much your standard grip balls (core is solid, but flexible - not the inflexible tough kind), but seem to be good quality. I'd order again and recommend to friends.

Easy to use.
The gripper and two squeeze balls are just what I was looking for. I keep these handy to my r ecliner chair and use them while watching TV or reading, even with left hand while doing crossword puzzles. This routine is effective in keeping the hands and fingers working smoothly, even has reduced swelling around joints. I am 86 years old and would recommend both the spring device and the squeeze balls to any 'old codger'.

For the first time in my life, I have been writing a book. I have a great imagination, but poor writing skills. However, with today's technology, I can still press on. One of the items I use is a Tablet, but holding it while writing tends to make my hands stiff. My loving, supportive wife, seeing how my hands were starting to hurt, wanted me to try this Barbarian Grip out to see if it would help.I started out on a low level of resistance, and it did really help. It wasn’t long before I added more resistance, and I can feel the difference. My hands are not feeling as stiff, and to top it off, my grip feels stronger. It is lightweight, looks cool, and is easy to adjust and use. I do not take it with me on the road much, but when I do, it is small enough to just throw into my bag, or pocket.I'm not sure if the manufacturer was thinking about needing to clean it from time to time, but when I cleaned it last, it was super easy, as there are hardly any grooves to get into to clean.I am almost at the end of my book, and in its own way, the Barbarian Grip has helped me to get there.
