ThunderWunders Cat Calming Paw Gel | Vet Recommended to Help Reduce Situational Anxiety | Perfect for Vet Visits, Traveling, Visitors & More (3 oz)

First, some background. We have a 2 yr old neutered fiesty orange male kitty we got as a 8 week old kitten from a shelter. Despite hand feeding, cuddling, playing with him, etc. he still exhibits some feral tendencies, including occasional biting. (He doesn't like catnip, either.) Even though this product is technically for anxiety and not aggression, I decided to try it because I thought maybe he has some anxiety. At first, he shied away when I offered the product on my finger, but once he figured out it tasted like salmon (his favorite flavor) he quickly licked it off & was hoping for more. It worked almost immediately. He was definitely calmer and easier to handle. He let us pet him more than 4 times without trying to take our hand off. Now, if he starts getting overly aggressive we get out the tube & he's right there to get his "treat". He is a big cat so sometimes we give it to him 2x day (as per the instructions) as it does seem to wear off after about 3-4 hrs. Final thoughts--it's a nice support/help but not a permanent fix, so I use it on kitty's "challenging" days when nothing else seems to help.

We use it to calm cats who are having issues with each other and to calm for travel. as you can see from the picture, they decided to self medicate. To me that shows they do indeed like the product..

My older cat is experiencing some signs of extreme anxiety. Hiding all day, licking patches of fur off her legs and belly.This stuff definitely doesn’t smell like salmon (or any other kind of fish) and, according to my cat, doesn’t taste like it. She heads straight for the water bowl after licking it off and drinks A LOT of water. We both wish it was fishy-er.HOWEVER, it does work. She’s more social, can be on the bed with my other two cats (at a safe distance) and doesn’t lick as much. She has even played a little. She used to play several times a day.It’s sooo much easier to apply than laxatone. It’s a very smooth soft cream. I put a little over an inch of cream on my first finger then smudge it around with my thumb to make sure it will stay on her foot and she can’t just shake it off.I just have to catch her when she’s distracted and swipe it on her paw.Though she doesn’t like the taste (it takes her a while to get it all off because she licks at it a little at a time) it really works very well.I have started mixing it in with her wet food and make sure she gets a spoon twice a day (her food has a strong seafood smell) and she doesn’t seem to notice. It doesn’t work as well as a full dose all at once but it’s better than nothing and on her bad days I’ll give her a full smudge on her paw.I’m very very happy to have something that truly calms her, returns her to a better quality of life and that she wants to spend time with me again, be near me and give me headbutts again. >•.•<I’m taking her to the vet but this has truly been a gift for her and for me. Tried it for our older cat to help with transition . Moved and he is staying inside until we know the neighborhood better. Easy to apply on his paw at bedtime. Keeps him busy and then settles in for the night

Works to calm my high energy anxious at night cat so he calms down and sleeps

I can hardly believe how well this product works. My 16 year old cat, Princess, has been out of control with growing fear and apprehension that I would try to trim her claws. I would have to wrap her in a thick towel, covering her body and face, using considerable force to hold her down, pulling one paw out to do the clipping. She would howl so loud with fright and when I was done and let her go she would run and hide and not come out for days after. I knew if I took her to the Vet her fear level would would probably cause her to have a heart attack, as she is solely an indoor cat. When I first started to use your product by placing it on the top of her front paws she was very resistant. Within a few days she accepted it and happily licked it off. She sleeps next to me at night and I began to massage her paws each night to familiarize her with the gentle action. After a week she began to be relaxed with my touch. Yesterday I approached her with the clippers and the customary towel. I placed the towel over her, leaving her head exposed, speaking sweet words of love and safety. I could hardly believe it when she let me clip her claws without complaining. I did not have to use any force! This is a great achievement for both of us. Only one out of my families' 3 cats will eat this, and I tried putting it on their paw, trying to get them to lick off my finger, put it in a bowl with their food/treats, but none of them like the taste of it except for one. My cat George loves the taste of this, he always licks it off my finger and seems to want more when it's all gone. It also a fantastic job of calming him down, I give it to him several times a week, he is an indoor cat and sometimes gets bad anxiety about not being allowed outside (he used to be an outdoor cat and misses it). After about thirty minutes to an hour after giving it to him he is noticeably more calm as he stops running around the house wildly and gets cuddly instead. I would have given this five stars if our other kitties would eat it but had to knock one off for that.

Not easy to use. I followed the directions exactly and put an inch on my cat's paw. She immediately flicked it off and onto me. I smelled like salmon the rest of the day. I figured maybe she just wasn't used to it. I tried putting it on top of her favorite wet food the next day to associate it positively with food. She ate everything around it, but avoided the gel. I'm not sure if she doesn't like the taste, smell, or what. I don't know if it works because my cat will not touch it.

Made my cat sick. Didn’t calm him enough to clip his nails any more easily.

Don’t know about making her calmer but it certainly distracted her for afew minutes
